Amazon Prime members can already save a record $35 on the 2024 Echo Spot with Alexa

Is the 2024-released Echo Spot the absolute best smart speaker one can buy in the US right now? Probably almost definitely not, but if you can't afford the gargantuan Echo Show 15 or Echo Show 21 or even the mid-range (and mid-sized) Echo Show 8, this might be the Alexa-enabled device to get ahead of next week's Amazon Prime Day 2025 festival. Of course, you could also consider the dirt-cheap Echo Pop or Echo Dot, but the Echo Spot is clearly the more versatile and functional product, with not just a 1.73-inch front-firing speaker on deck promising to deliver "big vibrant sound", but also a 2.83-inch screen with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels for showing stuff like the time of day, key weather information, and song titles at a glance.
2024 Release, Smart Alarm Clock with 1.73-Inch Front-Firing Speaker, 2.83-Inch Touchscreen with 320 x 240 Pixel Resolution and Half-Circle Tinted Cover Glass, 1GB RAM, 8GB Storage, Alexa Assistance, Three Color Options, Amazon Prime Membership Required Buy at Amazon
This is basically the Echo Show 5's even smaller (and cheaper) brother, normally costing $79.99 and currently setting you back 35 bucks less than that in your choice of three colorways: black, glacier white, or ocean blue. If this discount happens to feel familiar, that might be because it's the exact same one that Amazon offered when the second-gen Echo Spot first saw daylight last year... and again around Black Friday 2024. But that was the last time we saw this bad boy sold at a whopping 44 percent markdown, which makes this early Prime Day 2025 promotion pretty special. Almost as special as the Fire Max 11 and Fire HD 10 Prime-exclusive deals I told you about earlier today.
Yes, you need an Amazon Prime membership to claim this cool new Echo Spot offer as well, and yes, I do expect the $35 price cut to remain valid between July 8 and July 11. The chances of seeing the deal improved anytime soon, however, are virtually nonexistent, so you might as well pull the trigger today if you happen to be in the market for a nice little alarm clock for your bedroom with such smart functionality as setting timers, checking the weather and traffic information, and streaming music using only your voice.
The 2024 Echo Spot, remember, is a totally different product from its 2017 predecessor, so you may or may not have to wait another seven years for a sequel. What I can say with almost complete certainty is that a third-gen model will not come out this year, which is yet another reason to consider a purchase at a killer $35 discount right now. Secure your connection now at a bargain price!

Epic new leak reveals every last Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold spec

Whether or not it will actually be released this week (probably not), the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is definitely set for an official announcement alongside the non-foldable Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL on Wednesday, August 20. Of course, many of these stopped being secrets a while ago, but it's always nice to get pre-launch corroboration from such a reputable source as Quandt, and it's also very cool to be able to look at the complete picture without gathering bits and pieces of information from a bunch of different places. 8-inch OLED Super Actua Flex primary display with 2152 x 2076 pixel resolution, 3000 nits peak brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate technology; 6.4-inch OLED Actua secondary screen with 2364 x 1080 pixel resolution, 3000 nits peak brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate support; Google Tensor G5 SoC; Titan M2 security chip; Android 16 ; ; Seven years of OS updates, security patches, and feature drops; 16GB RAM; 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options; UFS 4.0 storage technology; 48MP primary rear-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture; 10.5MP ultra-wide-angle secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture; 10.8MP telephoto sensor with f/3.1 aperture and 10x optical zoom; 10MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture; 10MP cover camera with f/2.2 aperture; 5,015mAh battery rated at up to 72 hours of endurance in Extreme Power Saving Mode; 30W wired and 15W wireless charging capabilities; Aerospace-grade aluminum frame; IP68 water and dust resistance; 155.2 x 76.3 x 10.8mm dimensions (folded); 155.2 x 150.4 x 5.2mm dimensions (unfolded); 258 grams weight; Moonstone and Jade color options; Dual SIM support; Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, NFC; Stereo speakers, three microphones, surround sound; Side-mounted fingerprint sensor; Gemini Nano, Gemini Live, Circle to Search, Call Assist AI features. Because I realize it can be occasionally daunting to look at such a lengthy list of features and know what details to focus on, I'll try to quickly give you a hand and emphasize some of the most important numbers listed above. 5.2mm and 10.8mm are two key figures no other (credible) report mentioned these past few months, and although they mean the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be a bit thicker than its predecessor, we're actually not looking at drastic changes over the Pixel 9 Pro Fold 's 5.1mm and 10.5mm profile in unfolded and folded form respectively. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold looks decidedly familiar but also undeniably great in this leaked promotional picture. | Image Credit -- Evan Blass on X Of course, I can understand if you had hoped to see those numbers go down rather than up, especially after Samsung's remarkable Galaxy Z Fold 7 engineering feat, but that was probably before you heard about Google's plan to raise the battery capacity bar from 4,650mAh to more than 5,000mAh, which is confirmed (for the umpteenth time) today. Also confirmed is that impressive IP68 water and dust protection standard, which improves on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold 's modest IPX8 certification while leaving the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the dust as well... both figuratively and literally speaking. Compared to its Pixel 9-series forerunner, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is now also virtually guaranteed to support slightly higher wired and wireless charging speeds, sport an ever so slightly larger secondary display, weigh a gram more (now that's a change!), and hike the otherwise unchanged camera system's optical zoom capabilities from 5x to 10x. Oh, and the peak brightness of both the primary and secondary screens is expected to make a little bit of a progress too. All in all, we're certainly not looking at a huge number of upgrades and improvements here, but the bigger battery and IP68 rating alone could make this bad boy the best foldable phone money can buy for a lot of (patient) folks out there. That's right, a bunch of trustworthy industry insiders (Roland Quandt included) are still expecting the Pixel 10 Pro Fold release to take place on October 9.

The 2026 Apple Watch may finally break its old look – here's what you should know before you get excited

There's a new report now indicating that a major redesign is coming to at least one new Apple Watch model launching next year. A report from DigiTimes indicates that supply chain insiders are saying a high-end 2026 Apple Watch may have "exterior design" changes, as well as eight sensors reportedly arranged in a ring pattern that may be visible through a glass cover on the watch's underside. Possibly, this refers to the Apple Watch Series 12 and/or the Apple Watch Ultra 4, which could be timepieces coming next year. The presence of more sensors would make sense. After all, Apple Watches are continuously getting new health features. For one, Apple is reportedly working on a feature that would notify you of signs of high blood pressure. The feature may or may not be ready for the Series 11 next month. If not, it may be for the Series 12 next year. The report also claims that the Apple Watch Series 11 will support Apple Intelligence. This would mean the watch may get smarter health management capabilities. However, it's not certain how this may happen with the small amount of RAM on a timepiece. Probably, it could rely on the paired iPhone. It's important to note that sometimes, DigiTimes reports have been hit-or-miss, so it's not clear how certain this big redesign for next year's premium smartwatch is. Meanwhile, earlier this year, the publication also reported that a more affordable MacBook featuring an iPhone chip is in the works. This MacBook has been rumored from other sources as well, including reputable tipsters such as Ming-Chi Kuo. I personally think that if the rumors about the iPhone 17 Pro redesign are true (and there seem to be quite a few instances corroborating those), it's not impossible that Apple may redesign the Apple Watch as well. The Apple Watch has kept the same recognizable design language since pretty much its inception, so maybe it's time for a change.
