1. Black Frieza: Dragon Ball's most powerful villain yet
At the top of the list is the return, even if not completely unexpected, of Frieza – who's now come back in a much darker form referred to as Black Frieza. Redesigned at the conclusion of the Granolah the Survivor Arc, this new version of Frieza threw audiences for a loop when he defeated both Goku and Vegeta with seemingly no effort, even in their most powerful forms. The Trainer Special is set just a few months later.Example of such is Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego.
Frieza did the same thing when he trained for 10 years in that magic hyperbolic time chamber and got a million-power-levels-up! He may be the most powerful being in all of existence—even more powerful than the gods. While this arc is still in the works, fans feel confident that the following chapters of Dragon Ball Super will explore deeper into Black Frieza's rise to power and the danger he is sure to face all universes with.
2. Universe 6 saiyans: Vegeta's most personal arc yet
One other big storyline fans are anticipating to see is Universe 6, where we were first introduced to a different set of Saiyans. As far back as the Universe 6 arc, Vegeta made a promise to his student Cabba that he would one day visit Planet Sadala, the home of Universe 6's Saiyans, and meet their king.
That would make this arc something of a dream come true for Vegeta fans. It would allow him to truly reconnect with his roots and explore what the Saiyan race would've been like had their planet not been destroyed. Not only do we have new characters to look forward to, we'll finally see beloved characters like Caulifla and Kale back in on the action.
For decades, audiences have wished for an arc that finally features Vegeta in the protagonist's role. A trip to Planet Sadala would be the ideal opportunity.
3. A multiverse war: Dragon Ball's most epic battle yet
Dragon Ball Super unlocked a massive narrative potential when it revealed that there were 12 universes back during the Tournament of Power arc. Since that point, the manga has largely returned to Universe 7, leaving fans hungry for more multiverse action.
A prospective future arc would bring together heroes and villains from every corner of the multiverse for one massive showdown. Think Goku and friends joining forces with elite warriors such as Jiren, Hit, and Toppo to take down a dark, cosmic-level enemy that threatens to erase every universe from existence.
This sort of arc would set the stakes higher than ever before, and fans are already clamoring to see the multiverse-set franchise explored in more depth.
Bonus theory: Could Broly join the fight?
One big unknown in all this is Broly, the legendary Super Saiyan. Now living peacefully and training alongside Goku, Broly has evolved to be calmer yet incredibly more powerful. And like many fans, I think there's a good chance he'll come back to play a significant role in the Black Frieza arc—or even become one of the key warriors in any multiversal war.
Broly's popularity is at an all-time high thanks to the reception of Dragon Ball Super: Broly and there's no doubt the series will find a way to bring him back in a huge way.
What's next for Dragon Ball super?
There's no official return date for Dragon Ball Super, but with the franchise getting both a movie and a new series someday, fans can take comfort knowing the franchise is not finished. Dragon Ball certainly has plenty of life left.
Be it Black Frieza, the Universe 6 Saiyans, or an outright multiverse war, the next arc of Dragon Ball is set to go bigger than ever.

'Ocean With David Attenborough' will be out on June 8 on National Geographic and JioHotstar. With this documentary, the makers aim to raise awareness among audience on how they can help save the world's oceans, as per a press note. Speaking about the documentary, Attenborough said, 'My lifetime has coincided with the great age of ocean discovery. Over the last hundred years, scientists and explorers have revealed remarkable new species, epic migrations, and dazzling, complex ecosystems beyond anything I could have imagined as a young man. In this film, we share those wonderful discoveries, uncover why our ocean is in such poor health, and, perhaps most importantly, show how it can bounce back to life.' 'When an entire life has to be crunched into a couple of hours, you have to make decisions about what to show and what to leave out,' he says. 'But as a writer, and with Ananth Mahadevan as director and co-writer, we didn't take any cinematic or creative liberties. Everything that you see in the film is based on extensive research and facts. We referred to several books.' He adds, 'A biography is vast, and their lives were immensely vast.
