Meghalaya honeymoon murder to hit big screens? Raja Raghuvanshi's family gives consent; cast, shooting

Meghalaya honeymoon murder: The chilling case in which Indore-based transport businessman Raja Raghuvanshi was killed during his honeymoon, will now be made into a movie. Family members of the deceased have consented to a movie on the crime, which sent shockwaves across the nation following the arrest of his wife Sonam and her suspected lover, Raj Kushwaha. The movie is being directed by SP Nimbawat, and is tentatively titled 'Honeymoon in Shillong,' reported newswire PTI. The film's director revealed that the script is complete and ready for production. Shooting will take place in Indore, the hometown of the couple, and in various locations across Meghalaya, where Raja's body was tragically discovered. '80 per cent of its shooting will be done in Indore and the remaining 20 per cent in different areas of Meghalaya,' SP Nimbawat told reporters. Raja Raghuvanshi had travelled to Meghalaya with his wife Sonam in May. Days after he went missing, his mutilated body was found on June 2 in a deep gorge near a waterfall in the Sohra area (also known as Cherrapunji) in East Khasi Hills district. Without revealing the names of the actors of the movie, director SP Nimbawat said: '...It is a murder will ensure that the movie is good and that talented Bollywood actors play the roles,' reported ANI. Raja Raghuvanshi's brother, Sachin, said the family consented to a movie on the chilling crime to bring the truth about his brother's murder to light. "We gave our consent for the upcoming film on the murder case. We believe that if we do not bring the story of my brother's murder on the big screen, people will not be able to know who was right and who was wrong?" Raghuvanshi's elder brother, Sachin, told reporters. Weeks after the brutal murder of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi during his honeymoon, his family performed a puja at the crime scene in Meghalaya on Thursday. Raja and Sonam, who were married on May 11, went missing on 23 May during their honeymoon in Shillong. According to the police, Sonam Raghuvanshi had allegedly plotted Raja's murder with her lover, Raj Kushwaha. Three others — Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Anand Kurmi — allegedly assisted in the crime.

Rajkummar Rao gets bail in 2017 'Behen Hogi Teri' case, here's what his advocate has to say: Know all about the case

Rajkummar Rao who was last seen in 'Maalik' got a lot of love for his performance. The actor whose film 'Stree 2' got a huge response at the box office has now gotten relief in his 2017 'Behen Hogi Teri' case. For those not in the know, Rajkummar was a part of this film which starred him alongside Shruti Hassan. The film's poster saw him dressed as Lord Shiva on a silver motorbike with Uttar Pradesh number plate. Several symbolic religious elements like moon crescent and rudraksh beads also featured in the poster and thus, this led to a strong outrange in Jalandhar. A complaint was filed against the makers for hurting religious sentiments. Infact, director Ajay K Pannalal and producer Tony D'souza were also arrested in Mumbai and later were granted bail. Meanwhile, the case was still ongoing as Rajkummar had to appear before court on July 28 in connection to this case. After he appeared before the court, the actor has been granted conditional bail. Another hearing took place today, July 30 but today, the actor wasn't present at court. Now Rajkummar's advocate has shared details about the case. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like (1) Activate Antivirus License Now Click Here Undo Advocate Darshan Dayal said, according to ANI, "The FIR was registered under Section 295A (act done with the intention of inciting religious sentiments), Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) and Section 67 of the IT Act, due to which non-bailable warrants were also issued against the actor." Dayal further said, "The challan was presented in the court in the absence of the actor. Since the address in the summons was in Delhi, he was not informed about appearing in the court. Actually, the actor is living in Mumbai. On the other hand, Shruti Hassan was acquitted in the case after the court found her innocent. Ajay K Pannalal (Director of the film) has reached the court today, whose petition has been filed in the court. " Meanwhile, Rajkummar argued that the film had received a Central Board of Film Certification certificate, indicating that the content of the film was not legally objectionable. The certificate also said that his freedom of expression was protected under Article 19(1)(a), according to Darshan. Media reports say the Censor Board (CBFC) had initially asked the filmmakers to remove a scene where Rajkummar, dressed as Lord Shiva, falls off a bike, as it might offend religious sentiments. However, the film was eventually cleared with a U/A certificate and released without any cuts on June 9, 2017, with the scene included.

39-year-old Brendan Taylor to make Test return against New Zealand after serving 3.5-year ICC ban

This follows his three-and-a-half-year suspension for violating the ICC's anti-corruption code, which ended on July 25. He is expected to join Zimbabwe's squad for the second Test starting August 7 in Bulawayo. "He'll obviously be available for the second Test," Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine said of Taylor's return to the side, as quoted from ANI. "But I also know how hard he's worked in his capacity -- especially over the last eight, ten (or) 12 months -- in order for this to happen. I'm very excited to have him come back into the space in the next few days, and looking forward to what he has to contribute towards the team and the group." During his suspension, he was prohibited from training with national or domestic teams. Zimbabwe has already selected a 16-member squad for the New Zealand Test series. The team includes an experienced batting lineup and Tafadzwa Tsiga as the designated wicketkeeper-batter for the first Test. Taylor, who traditionally batted at number four in Tests, might return to this position if selected. This could lead to adjustments in the batting order, with players like Sean Williams moving down to strengthen the middle order. Taylor has acknowledged that he doesn't expect an immediate return to the playing eleven. His return is focused on contributing to Zimbabwe cricket, which he admits he let down through his past actions. "I've been humbled properly," Taylor said. Poll Are you excited about Brendan Taylor's return to international cricket? Yes, absolutely! Not really. "I look forward to really just adding value, which I probably didn't do to the best of my ability when I was there before." Taylor's cricket career includes 34 Test matches for Zimbabwe from 2004 to 2021, with an average of 36.25. He has scored six Test centuries, including a notable unbeaten 105 against Bangladesh in 2011. His return coincides with a busy period for Zimbabwe cricket. The team has played seven Tests this year with one victory and has four more scheduled against New Zealand and Afghanistan. While Taylor might not immediately feature in Zimbabwe's T20 plans, he could potentially join the ODI team, particularly with the 2027 World Cup in consideration. His suspension resulted from failing to report a match-fixing offer, which was connected to an attempted blackmail involving cocaine use. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4.
