Sridevi rejected this blockbuster film, which made this actress an overnight star, who once struggled in Bollywood, her name is…, film is…
Madhuri Dixit worked in a film in her career, which changed her fortunes. The actress not only became a superstar, but the film also won five Filmfare Awards. Both Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit worked in many hit films in their career. During this time, there was an incident where one of Sridevi's rejected films made Madhuri Dixit a superstar. Sridevi's rejection made Madhuri Dixit a star
That film is none other than Beta. In this film, the Dhak-Dhak girl was seen in the lead role with Anil Kapoor. Aruna played a negative character. Boney Kapoor wanted Sridevi to play the lead role in this film, but the actress refused. After this, Inder Kumar took the Tamil rights of the film and signed Madhuri Dixit as the lead actress.
According to reports, Waheeda Rehman, Sharmila Tagore, and Mala Sinha were selected for the role of mother-in-law. But after their rejection, this role was played by Aruna Irani. This film proved to be very lucky for Aruna Irani. This film was the most popular film of her career.
After Sridevi's rejection, it made Madhuri Dixit became a superstar. Both the lead actors received the Best Actor and Actress awards for this film. Apart from this, the film also made a strong collection at the box office. According to reports, Beta was the highest-grossing film in 1992. It collected Rs 23.50 crore in its account. Another film that made Madhuri Dixit a superstar
Apart from this, Sridevi was initially offered the blockbuster film Tezaab, released in 1988. However, during that time, Sridevi reportedly declined the offer. There have been speculations that Sridevi turned down the offer because the role offered to her didn't align with her plans.
Once Sridevi rejected the film, the role was next given to Madhuri Dixit. During that era, Madhuri was still struggling to make her name in Bollywood. Tezaab went on to become her career-best film. Tezaab went on to become a huge success for Madhuri and made her a leading actress in Bollywood.
