Crews extinguish fire at north Charlotte apartment

Investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire at a home in north Charlotte late Sunday night.
The fire happened around 10:30 p.m. at a home on Julia Avenue, just off of Statesville Avenue.
Several fire crews were called to the scene, and they got the fire put out in about 12 minutes, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.
Nobody was reported to be hurt.

Firefighters searching for missing Charlotte woman, 67, near Wendover Road

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — First responders are searching for a missing woman in southeast Charlotte Friday night. The Charlotte Fire Department reported their crews are attempting to find 67-year-old Joyce Kerney. She was last seen near Latrobe Drive and North Wendover Road, wearing a grey short-sleeved shirt, black jeans and black sneakers. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say she has a cognitive impairment and may be lost or confused. Kerney is described as a Black female with silver hair, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds.
