A month after her release, The Generation of Jade decided to share a haunting experience from her tenure in the global juggernaut.
Cora Jade reveals she was body-shamed in WWE
In an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Cora Jade opened up about being body shamed when she came into WWE at 19 years old. Being small in her physical stature, multiple people would make comments about her. One of them even said that Jade would never become a champion in the company for being too small.
The former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion also stated that it created a lot of body image issues for her. However, she fought back against all odds and went on to gain more muscle and have a better shape than before.
Cora said,
'I definitely think things could've went differently if it weren't for certain things like the bodyshaming thing, I came in at 19 years old, I was like 110 pounds, I was so small. It was constant comments, whether it was from guys who think they were being funny, or, I'm not gonna name names again, but I remember specifically being told that I wasn't and wouldn't be champion in that company because I looked like I couldn't crack an egg — Multiple conversations about my body, which I don't think anyone, especially as another man, should be saying that to a female, I was so young and it created a lot of issues for me body wise.
But obviously I gained so much muscle after that, I worked my ass off.'
Cora Jade is set to become a free agent in a few days after her non-compete clause ends. She has also reverted to her former name, Elayna Black, and is scheduled for multiple wrestling appearances with a representation in place, too. As she is set to begin her journey outside WWE, it will be interesting to see if she can climb the heights of success that she did not back in WWE NXT.

John Cena Gives Stunning Verdict On WWE Heel Turn: "Bombed..."
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar John Cena opened up about his much-discussed 'heel turn' and how it did not go according to plan. Cena believes that his promos did not work initially with the fans and that led to the disconnect. The 17-time champion turned heel after attacking Cody Rhodes at WWE Elimination Chamber to leave the fans completely stunned. It was something that the fans have discussed for a long time but the execution over the next few weeks left them disappointed. Cena told an audience member at Fan Expo Chicago 2025 what he believed went wrong. "I wasn't upset. No, I failed," he said. "Ain't nothing wrong with that. You can learn from failure, right? I went up there and bombed. Shit happens." Cena was open to criticism and even said that he took the failure as teaching moments in his WWE career. The superstar announced that this will be his last year with the company and he has faced a number of stalwarts in the course of his retirement tour till now. "I've changed a lot over the years. I'm not the same person I was yesterday," he says. Earlier, Cena kept the fans guessing about his opponent in the final match of his wrestling career. Cena revealed at the start of 2025 that this will be his last year in professional wrestling and he is all set to have his final fight in December last this year. However, there is still no clarity about who he will be facing. He has already faced stalwarts like Cody Rhodes, CM Punk and Randy Orton while his next match will be against Logan Paul at WWE Clash in Paris on August 31. During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he was once again asked about his potential opponent but the legendary WWE star once again left everyone guessing. "No, no, I've never operated like that," Cena said. "It's weird because I've always just been that guy. ... I've just always kind of been reliable and showing up and doing whatever I'm asked. And I really want this tour to be not only special - it'll always be special to me because you guys are out there - I want it to be special for the business. My goal has always been to leave WWE better than I found it, so whoever they deem appropriate to get that energy, man, I'm cool with that."

Last Updated: Hijo del Vikingo retained the mega championship title, and Omos won the La Copa Bardhal on a day Rey Mysterio inducted Konnan into the AAA Hall Of Fame. The 33rd edition of the AAA Triplemania thrilled fans and onlookers at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City on Sunday as Hijo del Vikingo retained the mega championship title, and Omos won the La Copa Bardhal on a day Rey Mysterio inducted Konnan into the AAA Hall Of Fame. Omos was the last man left standing in a 14-man event akin to the Royal Rumble as he withstood the challenge from La Parka towards the end of the bout after Laredo Kid, Joaquin Wilde, Abismo Negro Jr., Taurus, Aerostar, Mecha Wolf, Cruz Del Toro, Otis, Pimpinela Escarlata, Cibernetico, Microman, and Octagon Jr. were eliminated. Parka, who opened the fight weathered the storm till the final knockings of the event, but Omos, who came in to the ring last but one reigned supreme. AAA Latin American Championship: El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. got the better of El Mesias to win the title, as Hijo's father was in attendance to witness his son script history. Dorian Roland proved to be a distraction for Wagner outside the ring and it took the contestants' father to clock the interference as Hijo went on to clinch the crown with a pin on Mesias. The WWE mixed tag team of Judgement day appeared on the show to add a coat of sheen as the seasoned stars isolated Nino early on, but the veteran campaigners were made to work once Iguana was tagged in. The two teams traded blow for blow, before Lola, who looked to finish off Raquel Radrigues was taken down by Roxanne Perez off the turnbuckle. La Hiedra looked to make thins easier for the other side, but ended up smashing Lola. While Nino took down the pile of male wrestlers Rodrigues hit a Tejada bomb on Lola to pick up the win. AAA World Tag Team Championship: Psycho Clown and Pagano got the better of Angel Garza and Humberto Carillo in the World Tag Team Championship fixture which was fought out in a streetb fight format. The holders at the start of the day, Garza and Carillo, began the bout with momentum on their side but the direction of the wind changed in favour of the challengers as Pagano managed to make inroads in the bout with his attack on Humberto, before Psycho clown hit him with a Spanish fly while the opponent was on barbed wires to close out the bout and pick up the crown. AAA Reina de Reinas Championship: Champion Flammer edged out Faby Apache and Natalya as the victor capitalised on a moment of lapse from Faby to clinch the win and defend her title with a crucifix pin. She was also aided by the quick count from ref El Hijo del Tirantes as Apache and Natalya got involved in a quarrell following the conclusion of the bout. AAA Mega Championship: Hijo del Vikingo successfully retained his crown with a win over Dragon Lee, El Grande Americano and Dominik Mysterio in the headline fight of the day. Interruptions from the judgement day, LWO and masked American wrestlers looked to push the game in favour of Mysterio, Americano and Dragon Lee. However, just when it seemed Dirty Dom would walk away with the top honour, AJ Styles intervened to rain on his party. Vikingo saw the opportunity and grabbed on to it to pick up the win on the back of his signature 630 senton to walk back to the locked room with his prized posession still in his grasp. view comments Location : Mexico First Published: August 17, 2025, 11:08 IST News sports AAA Triplemania XXXIII: Hijo Del Vikingo Retains Crown, Konnan Inducted Into Hall Of Fame Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
