$4k worth of equipment stolen in Clearfield County garage burglary
HUSTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WTAJ) — State police in DuBois are investigating a burglary in Clearfield County where thousands of dollars in tools and construction equipment were stolen from a residential garage.
Troopers responded June 7 to a report of a break-in at a property along the 9700 block of Bennetts Valley Highway in Huston Township. According to investigators, the victim, a 45-year-old woman from Penfield, reported the theft likely occurred sometime between May 1 and June 7.
Among the stolen items are a 2024 Cub Cadet zero-turn lawn mower with a 60-inch deck, four Stihl power saws, a Stihl weed eater, a Grizzly wood planer, and custom-cut oak floorboards. Other reported items include a yellow and blue roof scaffolding set, a 2024 yellow gas generator (brand unknown), a large dark-colored toolbox filled with miscellaneous tools (brand unknown), a torpedo heater (brand unknown), and a roofing shovel.
Police said there was no sign of forced entry into the garage. The estimated total value of the stolen items exceeds $4,000.

64 arrests made during Pennsylvania State Police multi-county enforcement detail
(WTAJ) — Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) had a multi-county enforcement detail Wednesday that saw 64 arrests between Centre and Clearfield counties. Members of PSP Rockview, Clearfield Vice, County Probation and the Centre County Sheriff's office hit the streets June 11 for a targeted enforcement that proved to be successful. Of the 64 arrests, state police said that 24 of them were for warrants, 20 were Act 64 drug-related offenses and two were DUI-related. In addition to the arrests, 121 citations and 70 warnings were issued to motorists. There was also a motorist assist in the bunch. State police said these saturation details are routinely conducted throughout the Troop G and C coverage areas. During these details, troopers are specifically looking for people driving impaired or using and selling drugs or details are intended to help the ongoing effort of keeping communities safe. ‘This is not who we are:' State College church reacts after Pride flag burned
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WTAJ) — A State College man was arrested after police said he lit a Pride flag on fire at a church, shouted homophobic slurs, and damaged other decorations. The church reacted to the incident and shared a message to the community. The incident occurred outside the Faith United Church of Christ in Downtown State College. Reverend & church Pastor Jes Kast got the text the day the incident occurred and said she was worried. 'My initial reaction was, this is something that is that we will not stand for in our community. That's not who State College is, and that we need to take action immediately, calm, peaceful action, and this needs to be reported,' Kast said. Police: State College man arrested for setting PRIDE flag on fire at local church The church has a camera outside of the main door, and they were able to send video evidence to the State College police. Officers were then able to arrest 27-year-old Markos Bejiga, a resident of State College. He was charged with one felony count of causing or risking a catastrophe, a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, and three summary counts of criminal mischief. Investigators say Bejiga lit a Pride flag on fire outside the Faith United Church of Christ, attempted to set another flag ablaze while climbing a streetlight pole, and damaged decorations at Chumley's and Café 210 West. He is also accused of shouting slurs at bystanders during the acts. 'He had some sort of, I think, an aerosol and a lighter to try and light that up there. It's hard to reach the Pride banner from below, so you have to stand up. So we think that's what happened, but I'm letting the police look into that,' Kast said. Kast said she has a two-fold message for everyone in the State College community after this incident. 'This is not who we are, we won't stand for any form of hatred, we won't stand for any form of vandalism or arson. Our community is one of respect, respect of all sorts of people. And so we as a community will stand up to any form of hatred that there may be,' Kast said. 'Like, in the words of Jesus, love one another, it's the very words that are written in our stained glass windows here that blessed are the peacemakers, that's who we will be in this community, that's who we've been since the 1930s, and that's who we will continue to be.' Pennsylvania, Virginia finalize concealed carry agreement between states
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — A reciprocity agreement between Pennsylvania and Virginia for concealed carry permits has been finalized. Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday, along with Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, announced on June 11 that holders of licenses to carry firearms can carry a concealed firearm in both states. 'Shortly after taking office, I asked my staff to review opportunities to maximize reciprocity agreements with willing states and ensure all existing and future agreements protect and respect standing law and constitutional rights,' Attorney General Sunday said. 'Our research of law in both states revealed nothing conflicting that would disallow permit holders to carry in both states.' According to the office of Attorney General, legal staff in Pennsylvania reached out to Virginia State Police officials in April 2025 to discuss renewal. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) allows firearm license holders from Pennsylvania to carry a firearm concealed on their person or in a vehicle in Virginia, and license holders in Virginia to do the same. This MOU is only applicable to handguns and has requirements for the permit holders. They must be at least 21 years of age, carry photo identification, display their concealed carry permit when asked by law enforcement, and have not previously had their concealed carry permit revoked.
