Rosie Roche: Prince William and Harry's Cousin Found Dead Aged 20
20-year-old Rosie Roche - who was the granddaughter of Princess Diana's uncle – was found dead on July 14th. She was discovered by her mother, Pippa, and her sister, Agatha, at the family's Wiltshire home, where she was said to have been packing for a trip away with friends. A firearm was found at the scene.
During the inquest hearing at Wiltshire and Swindon coroner's court, area coroner Grant Davis said police 'have deemed the death as non-suspicious and there was no third-party involvement.' The inquest has been adjourned until October 25.
At the time of her death, Rosie was studying for a degree in English Literature at Durham University. Professor Wendy Powers, Principal of Durham's University College, said, 'Staff and students are extremely saddened by the tragic death of Rosie Roche.
'Rosie was a first-year student studying for an English Literature degree. Rosie had settled into the University and College beautifully and had lots of friends. She was loved for her creativity, energy, her love of books, poetry and travel among many other talents. She will be sorely missed.'
Rosie was the daughter of Edmund 'Hugh' Burke Roche and Pippa Long, with an obituary placed in the family's local newspaper reading, 'Roche, Rosie Jeanne Burke died on Monday 14th July 2025. Darling daughter of Hugh and Pippa, incredible sister to Archie and Agatha, Granddaughter to Derek and Rae Long. Private family funeral. A memorial service will be held at a later date.'
Rosie was the granddaughter of the 5th Baron Fermoy, Edmund Roche, whose sister Frances was the mother of Princess Diana. Born on June 21, 2005, she was raised in the countryside village of Malmesbury, before moving to Yorkshire for university. Before Durham, Rosie had attended St Mary Calne - a private boarding school in Wiltshire who counts the likes of Olympic dressage rider Laura Tomlinson and novelist Sara Maitland among their alumni. Taking a gap year before her studies, Rosie also travelled to Zimbabwe with a programme called Africagap.
The dog-loving student was said to have been active at university, with reports saying she had helped to set up a service called Unidog – connecting Durham students with local dogs. 'The aim here is to hopefully get any local Durham dog owners who are interested in quickly getting in touch with university students who are homesick for their pets,' a post read.
It's not known whether Rosie had any relationship with her older cousins, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Sydney Sweeney registered Republican days after Trump's conviction
Some critics on the Left have called it a sexist attempt to appeal to Mr Trump's 'Maga' base, while others – noting the pun on 'jeans' and 'genes' – claimed it promotes eugenics and 'Nazi propaganda'. 'It seemed clear to me that they [American Eagle] were aligning themselves with a white nationalist, Maga-friendly identity,' Shalini Shankar, an anthropology professor at Northwestern University, told CNN. JD Vance, the vice-president, said the Left's 'crazy' reaction to the advert showed they had failed to learn from Mr Trump's electoral victory last year. 'Did you learn nothing from the November 2024 election?' he asked on Friday. 'I actually thought that one of the lessons they might take is we're going to be less crazy. The lesson they have apparently taken is 'we're going to attack people as Nazis for thinking Sydney Sweeney is beautiful'. Great strategy.' 'Wow. Now the crazy Left has come out against beautiful women,' said Ted Cruz, the Republican senator for Texas, this week. 'I'm sure that will poll well.' Steven Cheung, the White House communications director, called the criticisms 'cancel culture run amok' and hit out at the 'warped, moronic and dense liberal thinking'. Two years ago, Sweeney faced backlash from fans when she hosted a birthday 'hoe-down' for her mother's birthday where guests were pictured wearing red Maga-style caps with the words: 'Make Sixty Great Again.' The Euphoria star called the event an 'innocent celebration' and said it had been 'turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention'. 'Please stop making assumptions,' she added. 'Rigged' against Trump Last year, Mr Trump was convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records to buy the silence of Stormy Daniels, a porn star with whom he was alleged to have had an affair shortly after the birth of his youngest son in 2006. The then-presidential candidate declared himself the victim of a 'rigged' justice system trying to stop his campaign to become president, prompting a groundswell of support from Republicans. His campaign said it raised a record-breaking $53m (£40m) in the hours after the verdict, around a third of which came from donors who had never previously given money to the party. Mr Trump was handed an unconditional discharge 10 days before he took office in January. The largely symbolic move meant he avoided any fines or jail time. The Republicans have enjoyed limited celebrity backing under Mr Trump, while the Democrats made celebrity endorsements one of the linchpins of Kamala Harris's campaign last year.

According to The Athletic, an officer claims to have witnessed Richardson shoving her boyfriend multiple times as he tried to walk away. Footage of the alleged incident was reportedly captured on a security camera at the airport, which cops deemed enough probable cause for her arrest. The clip reportedly shows Richardson reaching out with her left arm and grabbing Coleman's backpack before pushing it away. She then appeared to block Coleman's way before shoving him into a wall. The report later said that Richardson seemingly threw an item at Coleman, which the TSA indicated may have been headphones.
