Cincinnati Bearcats basketball transfer Hickman commits to former Xavier coach

Connor Hickman, who left Cincinnati Bearcats basketball in the transfer portal, has found a home with a former Xavier coach.
The 6-foot-3 guard has committed to Charleston coached by Chris Mack.
First, Hickman will need to be cleared via medical redshirt by the NCAA. Hickman spent most of UC's Big 12 season in a boot with an injured foot. Before being sidelined after the Baylor game in Waco, Hickman was a UC starter for a while when Dan Skillings Jr. was out with a knee injury
Connor Hickman had 14 points for UC in a win at Georgia Tech.
In 13 games with the Bearcats, Hickman averaged 4.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists. He scored 14 points in an early December win at Georgia Tech and had some key buckets in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout vs. Xavier.

Hickman was recruited by former UC assistant Drew Adams who knew of him from previous experience at Bradley. In UC's NIT win March 23, 2024 vs, Bradley, Hickman had 14 points for the Braves. Now, Adams has left for Indiana and Hickman could be heading south.
Hickman entered the transfer portal April 10.

According to Sam Kayser, Vaughn Karvala will take an official visit to Xavier on Wednesday. Advertisement Karvala began his prep career at Oregon High School in Oregon, Wisconsin before announcing his decision to transfer to Bella Vista College Preparatory in Arizona earlier this month. Tabbed by 247Sports as a four-star recruit, Karvala heads to Scottsdale as a top 10 player in Arizona and a top 20 small forward in the nation in the Class of 2026. He is the No. 62 overall player in the ESPN100 Rankings. Karvala was offered by Xavier in May and recently competed in the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
