WhatsApp Wants To Let You Create AI Chatbots And Use Them In The App: Here's How
Last Updated:
WhatsApp AI upgrades are getting serious and Meta is now testing the ability to create no-code AI chatbots within the app.
WhatsApp will soon take on OpenAI and Gemini with its own custom AI chatbot builder with the messaging app for its users. You might find this news a bit strange but it seems Meta is pushing all the way with the popular platform and giving it a serious AI upgrade.
AI tools are becoming the go-to feature across apps and WhatsApp is unlikely to fall behind in this race. Latest details suggest the messaging will soon get a tab that will let you build new AI chatbots and you don't even need to know coding to make it happen. The AI chatbots you create can become your conversation partner as well.
The details come via WaBetaInfo once again, who claims the feature has rolled out to a small group of beta users on Android and iOS. WhatsApp is adding a new tab called AI Studio where you will be greeted with a page that houses all the chatbots you have created previously.
WhatsApp will do a step process to help you create an AI and seek your inputs based on which chatbot will be generated. The message box here clearly says that Meta can use your interactions with AI to improve its own systems, and the company also knows how you use the AI to show you relevant chatbot models.
WhatsApp is making sure that the AI Studio is accessible by any user and you don't need technical expertise to build these AI chatbots.
WhatsApp is still building the feature into the app so it might be a while before we see it roll out for the users but the messaging app is finally available on the iPad. Besides that, WhatsApp is also close to making usernames available so that people can stop sharing their phone numbers with everyone and strangers.
Meta AI has been available on WhatsApp for a while, where it lets you generate images or recipes using text prompt and gradually we could see the AI chatbot becoming powerful enough to read through images and videos on the screen like Gemini Live.

Energy And Electrons: Could They Become Currency In A Decade? What Nikhil Kamath Says
Last Updated: Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath predicts energy and electrons could become trade currency in a decade due to rising data center and AI energy consumption. Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath has shared a thought-provoking idea based on research with a lingering assumption that energy and electrons might be the currency of trade in a decade. In a series of tweets, he shared the infographics explaining the research, highlighting the growing financial footprint of data centers and artificial intelligence. The electricity consumption in data centers is insane, with one new Data center consuming more electricity than 4 lakh electric vehicles in a year. Thus, the research says, electricity alone eats up 65 per cent of a data center's costs – primarily for computing and cooling. Data centers are large facilities that store, process, and manage digital data. They are the backbone of the internet and digital services—every time you use a website, stream a video, store files in the cloud, or make a bank transaction, chances are it passes through a data center. US is the leader with the most number of data centers (3680), followed by Germany (424) and UK (418). India ranks seventh in the number of 262 data centers. The more servers the data center has, the more energy it requires. Earlier, OpenAI founder Sam Altman explained how the words like please and thank you cost the company tens of millions of dollars. The research adds that one ChatGPT query uses 10x the electricity of a regular Google search. Data Centers To Consume 10% Of Global Energy By 2030 The research shows that data centers' consumption of energy is expected to grow to 10 per cent by 2030, which is 1.5 per cent of global energy. 'Just 5% of global internet searches using AI could consume enough energy to power over 1 million Indian homes for a year." Energy To Become Asset Kamath's idea is rooted in an emerging economic paradigm: as the demand for electricity grows, energy becomes a critical and tradable asset—much like money. If energy is as essential as cash in powering AI, streaming services, financial systems, and cloud operations, pricing and trading electricity akin to currency could be the next step. This concept isn't just futuristic—it carries real-world relevance. Companies might begin to hedge not only currency risk but also energy risk. Imagine supermarkets trading kilowatt-hours or data centers using energy derivatives in a similar fashion to forex trading. Over time, energy tokens or blockchain-based credits for electrons could emerge, giving rise to a sophisticated energy-backed financial ecosystem. If this shift happens, economies would have to rethink everything from inflation metrics to banking, as 'energy currency" could fundamentally alter how value is transferred and stored—making energy both a means and a measure of wealth. Apple 's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will begin on June 9 and the company is expected to announce major software-related updates at its five days developer conference. Last year, WWDC event was majorly focused on AI but this year the tech major is expected to focus on design and productivity enhancements for its operating system franchises. What to expect from Apple WWDC 2025 Bloomberg reported, the tech major will change its naming system for iOS. Instead of continuing with numerical sequence, it will shift to being named by the year (e.g. iOS26 instead of iOS19). Reports suggest that Apple's health app will incorporate AI, which could include a health chatbot and generative AI insight for more personalised health-related suggestions. As per media website, 9to5Mac, Messages may also get new AI features, such as translation and polls that offer AI- generated suggestions. According to details shared by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the company has some AI tools and features in development, but they are unlikely to be released this year. Instead, Apple could announce that it will allow third-party developers to access its large language models (LLMs) to support AI features inside their own apps. Reports suggest that Apple is developing a dedicated gaming app that will replace Game Center app. The app could include direct access to Apple Arcade's subscription-based game store. It could also integrate with iMessage or FaceTime for remote gaming. Apple could also announce a live-translate language feature for its AirPods, allowing real time translation during conversations. Who will replace Elon Musk as Donald Trump's Silicon Valley bestie: Four tech CEOs analyst are betting on
The high-profile alignment between Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump appears to be dissolving. Following the Tesla CEO's departure from a prominent advisory role, questions are now emerging regarding which, IF ANY, tech executive might next enter the President's inner circle. His second inauguration in January was a red carpet for Silicon Valley elites — with execs from Apple, Meta, Google and even OpenAI making an appearance, essentially pointing out a way that there's no shortage of names lining up to be the next tech mogul to the Oval Office. Here's a list of potential contenders — executives and entrepreneurs who can be the next in line (via Business Insider). Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook co-founder and Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg was among the first tech CEOs who demonstrated support for Trump. Meta contributed $1 million to Trump's inauguration, and Zuckerberg co-hosted a black-tie event to honour the president. Moreover, it was Zuckerberg's Meta that quickly brought changes to how the company worked. For example, launching X-like Community Notes service for fact checking, and making significant changes to its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programmes. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Many Are Watching Tariffs - Few Are Watching What Nvidia Just Launched Seeking Alpha Read Now Undo In early 2025, the company announced that it would be terminating major DEI initiatives, including those related to hiring, training, and supplier diversity. Reportedly, Zuckerberg also made multiple trips to Trump's Mar-a-lago residence. Zuckerberg is reportedly establishing a stronger presence in Washington D.C., having acquired a $23 million, 15,000-square-foot mansion in the capital. Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO OpenAI co-founder and CEO Sam Altman has also engaged with the Trump administration. His involvement includes the Stargate project, a $100 billion AI infrastructure plan announced the day after Trump's inauguration, involving OpenAI, Oracle and SoftBank. Altman's inclusion in the project came as a surprise because of infamous Musk-Altman feud when the Tesla CEO was standing beside the President. In May, Altman joined Trump on a trip to Saudi Arabia while working on a major deal to construct one of the world's largest AI data centers in Abu Dhabi. The Wall Street Journal reported this trip prompted Musk to join at the last minute, and that Musk allegedly attempted to derail the deal, for which OpenAI was ultimately selected. Trump has expressed enthusiasm for the AI arms race, aligning with Altman's focus. Jensen Huang, Nvidia CEO Nvidia co-founder and CEO Jensen Huang did not attend Trump's second inauguration in January but was present on the Middle East trip in May. Nvidia is involved in the OpenAI data center plans in the UAE, partnering with Oracle, SoftBank and G42. Huang has also praised Trump on several occasions for reversal of Biden administration's chip export rules, calling the previous rules "fundamentally flawed". However, Nvidia has faced challenges from the Trump administration, specifically in April when Trump banned the chip maker from selling its most advanced chips, the H20, to China. Nvidia stated this decision cost the company $5.5 billion. Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos , founder of Amazon and Blue Origin, has transitioned from public opposition towards Trump to a more cooperative stance. Bezos said in December that he expects a more friendly regulatory environment in the upcoming administration and in January, Amazon donated $1 million for Trump's inauguration. 'I'm actually very optimistic this time around. He seems to have a lot of energy around reducing regulation. If I can help do that, I'm going to help him," Bezos said at that time. However, the Bezos-Trump relationship has seen strained periods. In 2015, Bezos famously suggested he would use his space company, Blue Origin, to "#sendDonaldtospace" after Trump criticised the Washington Post, which Bezos owns. A brief point of tension emerged in April when Amazon reportedly considered displaying Trump's tariffs next to product prices, a plan White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt called "hostile and political." The idea was not implemented.
