Saudi Arabia Launches AI Course in Schools to Prepare Students for the Future
Saudi Arabia is stepping into the future of education with the introduction of a new high school course dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI). The initiative, launched by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) in partnership with the Ministry of Education, aims to equip the next generation with crucial digital skills.
The course, titled Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, is part of a broader effort to localize AI education and foster a digitally skilled workforce in the Kingdom. Announced during the Human Capability Initiative 2025 conference, which gathered over 300 global leaders and experts, this move aligns with Saudi Arabia's push to become a regional and global leader in AI and data.
Course Details and Target Audience
The new AI course targets 12th-grade students in the general track and is being introduced as an elective. The first phase of the program will benefit more than 50,000 students across Saudi Arabia. The curriculum is designed to offer students a solid foundation in AI and its practical applications, aligning with global technological trends while preparing them for the rapidly changing job market.
Students will learn through a custom-built digital platform, which provides an interactive and engaging learning experience. This platform blends multimedia content, teacher supervision, and project-based assessments to ensure both theoretical understanding and hands-on application of AI concepts. Bahrain Targets Women's Leadership : SCW unveils 2025–2026 national roadmap
TDT | Manama Bahraini women are set to enter a new chapter of national development, focusing on assuming top leadership roles under a newly approved national plan by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) for 2025 and 2026. New roadmap Titled 'Bahraini Women: Empowerment, Progress and Striving for Leadership', the plan was endorsed by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW. It identifies four priority areas: family stability, decision-making, economic participation, and quality of life. Each area includes initiatives grouped under five axes: policy, budgeting, awareness and training, auditing, and evaluation. The two-year strategy builds on nearly two decades of institutional efforts to support women and aims to shift the focus from empowerment to leadership in both public and private spheres. From progress to power Unlike previous national strategies that concentrated on inclusion, the new plan signals a transition towards top-level leadership. It promotes women's access to senior roles across sectors, especially in fields such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and digital transformation. According to the SCW, Bahraini women now constitute 60 percent of the government workforce, with half of them in executive roles. In the private sector, women make up 36 percent of the total workforce and hold 36 percent of executive positions. The number of virtual commercial records owned by women reached 1,220 by 2024, representing 54 percent. Institutional partnership The plan introduces an implementation framework that engages government, private, and civil society sectors. This cooperative structure ensures shared national responsibility for advancing women, with clear roles and coordinated action. Among its goals are increased female participation on corporate boards, greater involvement in civil society leadership, and supportive family policies that allow women to balance personal and professional commitments. London Hosts the Gulf-British Arbitration Forum with Participation of Prominent International Experts
Dr. Kamal Al-Hamad, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Commercial Arbitration Centre (GCCCAC), inaugurated the Gulf-British Arbitration Forum held at the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce in the UK capital, London. The forum attracted significant attention, with over 100 distinguished leaders from the Gulf, Arab countries, and the United Kingdom, alongside a number of international legal, judicial, and commercial arbitration experts. The forum addressed several key topics, most notably international commercial arbitration, and introduced the upcoming Second Gulf Law and Arbitration Week, scheduled to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain in January next year. The event served as a platform for knowledge exchange and the strengthening of legal cooperation among relevant institutions. Mr. Abdullah Al-Omair, Director General of International Agreements at the Saudi Ministry of Investment, delivered a keynote presentation highlighting the legal environment for investment in Saudi Arabia in light of the Ministry's strategies and Vision 2030. The audience praised the Kingdom's achievements in attracting foreign investment and fostering investor confidence. The forum concluded with a special tribute to Queen Mary University of London, one of the UK's prestigious academic institutions. Dr. Peter Cameron, Professor of Law at the university, delivered a speech discussing specialized academic programs in legal training and the importance of preparing legal professionals to meet the evolving demands of international arbitration. It is worth noting that the Gulf Cooperation Council Commercial Arbitration Centre is an international regional arbitration body with legal personality, established by a resolution of the GCC heads of state during the 14th GCC Summit in Riyadh in 1993. The centre's operational framework was approved by all GCC Council of Ministers, with the aim of promoting arbitration as an independent system for resolving commercial and investment disputes. The Centre also works to train and certify arbitrators, experts, and case managers across various specialties through high-quality accreditation programs, thereby fostering a culture of justice and fairness in arbitration across the Gulf region.
