Jaipur: Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur will lead the Jaipur polo team on Saturday, July 19, at the prestigious Indian Polo Day being held at Guards Polo Club, UK. The day will feature two key matches — the final of the Indian Polo Challenge Shield (18 goals) and the revival of the historic Jaipur Trophy, where Team Jaipur will face off against Guards Polo Club.
Playing alongside Padmanabh Singh for Team Jaipur will be Jaisal Singh, Abhimanyu Pathak, and Daniel Otamendi. The Guards Polo Club team will include Will Emerson (captain), Kuldeep Singh Rathore, Dino Dhankhar, and Vishwarupe Bajaj.
The Jaipur Trophy holds a special place in polo history. It was first presented in 1968 by HH Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II of Jaipur to Guards Polo Club. The inaugural match featured a team led by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, with a young Prince of Wales playing at number 1.
For many years after, Rajmata Gayatri Devi continued to present the trophy at Guards. The cup was last played in 2011, and now, over a decade later, it is being revived by Padmanabh Singh, marking a proud moment in Indo-British polo relations.
The match will be live streamed in India and can be viewed at 7:30 PM IST on tv.guardspoloclub.com.

Darwin Nunez Pushed To Al-Hilal As Liverpool Eye Another Isak Bid: Report

Last Updated: Liverpool's Darwin Nunez is set to join Al Hilal for €53 million. Liverpool may pursue Newcastle's Alexander Isak, valued at £150 million. Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is reportedly on the verge of completing a transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, a move that could pave the way for the Premier League champions to reignite their interest in Newcastle United's Alexander Isak. Nunez arrived at Anfield three years ago from Benfica in a high-profile deal worth an initial €75 million ($87 million, £65 million). Despite flashes of promise, the Uruguayan has struggled to consistently deliver, scoring 40 goals in 143 appearances. Over time, he has slipped down the pecking order under former manager Jürgen Klopp and now under new boss Arne Slot. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Al Hilal are prepared to pay an initial €53 million for the 26-year-old forward. This transfer would mark a significant step in Liverpool's summer reshuffle as they look to rebuild and invest further in key areas of the squad. Nunez's role was expected to be further diminished this season following Liverpool's aggressive recruitment strategy. The Reds have already added striker Hugo Ekitike and highly rated midfielder Florian Wirtz, with the club spending over €300 million this summer. Full-backs Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong have also joined the team, increasing competition across all areas. With Nunez nearing the exit, Liverpool are now reportedly prepared to make a fresh approach for Newcastle's Alexander Isak. The Swedish international has been a standout performer for the Magpies and is considered a prime target. However, Newcastle are said to be demanding up to £150 million, which would shatter the current British transfer record. Nunez's departure would bring Liverpool's total income from player sales close to €200 million during this window. Key names have already left the club, including Luis Diaz, Jarell Quansah, Caoimhin Kelleher, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Tyler Morton. Midfielder Harvey Elliott could also be on the move, with interest mounting from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. Liverpool are reportedly seeking at least €45 million for the England international. Lewis Hamilton's F1 future under speculation after poor Hungarian GP and advice to retire

Lewis Hamilton's recent poor form and explosive media reactions have sparked speculation about his future in Formula One. All eyes are now on his return after the summer break. read more A joint-record seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton's future in Formula One has now become a topic of speculation as the 2025 season entered the summer break after 14 races. Hamilton finished the 14th race of the season in 12th place at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Going into the break, the 40-year-old British driver is sixth in the championship standings with 109 points, 175 behind leader Oscar Piastri of McLaren. It's safe to say Hamilton has little to no chance of capturing a record eighth title in his first season with Ferrari. But the major point of discussion now is not when Hamilton will win his eighth F1 title, but whether he will continue in the sport after the 2025 season. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD While some tabloids also speculate that he may not even return for the Dutch Grand Prix, which will mark the return of the F1 2025 season on 31 August, the respected media houses in Britain are questioning Hamilton's future with Ferrari in the 2026 season. Hamilton to leave Formula 1? Hamilton has a three-year contract with Ferrari, which runs till the end of 2027, but the star driver was extremely disappointed by his performance at the Hungaroring. Hamilton is the most successful driver in the history of the Hungarian Grand Prix, winning eight races there, but last week he was knocked out in Q2 during the qualifying session, started the race in 12th, and finished in the same position. While Hamilton struggled, Ferrari's other driver, Charles Leclerc, clinched the pole, beating a dominant McLaren. 'Absolutely useless. The team has no problem. You've seen the car on pole so they probably need to change driver,' a disappointed Hamilton said, reacting to his performance after the qualifying. Hamilton has not managed a single pole in 14 races with Ferrari, while Leclerc has five. Leclerc leads Hamilton 10-4 in qualifying and 11-2 in races. Hamilton's best this season came when he secured a Sprint pole and victory at the second round in China. After the race in Hungary, Hamilton added more fuel to the rumours with his brief and gloomy responses. 'When you have a feeling, you have a feeling. There is a lot going on in the background that is not great,' he said, explaining why he called himself 'useless' after the qualifying. However, Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur is confident Hamilton is in the right mind space. 'I don't need to motivate him, honestly, he's frustrated, but not demotivated,' he said. 'I can perfectly understand the situation. He's demanding. But that's why he's a seven-time world champion.' Ecclestone asks Hamilton to retire But former Formula One CEO Bernie Ecclestone has advised Lewis Hamilton to retire from F1. 'Lewis is very talented, was and probably still is. But like a lot of leading sports personalities, when they reach the top, there is only one way to go, and it's not a good direction. It's only down,' Ecclestone told The Daily Mail. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'They get tired. Lewis is tired. He's been doing what he is doing forever. He needs a rest from it for good, a total reset to do something completely different. He may not think it, but he will soon get used to doing other stuff away from motor racing in retirement. I think he should have done it a while ago.' Hamilton is not expected to make any decision in the 2025 season and should be back for the last 10 races. But things may change for next season.
