Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh 3rd T20 playing 11, live match time and streaming

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh face off in the decisive third T20I of their closely contested series today, July 16, at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. With the series locked at 1-1, both teams have everything to play for in what promises to be a thrilling finale under lights.
Bangladesh head into the match with renewed confidence after a comprehensive six-wicket win in the second T20I. Skipper Litton Das's return to form—an aggressive 76 off 50 balls—was a major boost, while the side's collective effort with both bat and ball showed signs of a well-rounded unit. This was only Bangladesh's second T20I win in eight games in 2025, and they'll hope to build on the momentum with similar partnerships and a strong finish with the bat.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, must regroup after collapsing for just 94 in the second game—their lowest T20I total at home. Captain Charith Asalanka will be expecting a response from his experienced top order, especially Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka, who impressed in the series opener. With a familiar pitch at Premadasa and high stakes, both teams are poised for a hard-fought series decider.

Drama at Old Trafford: Ben Stokes offers to shake hands with Indian batters, they refuse and Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar score centuries

With the last over of play about to start at Old Trafford on Day 5 of the fourth Test, things got dramatic. By this now, India had fought tooth and nail to ensure that England are not going to win – a result that seemed imminent when the visitors were down 0/2 on Day 4. But after a fabulous partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar all but eliminated an England win, captain Ben Stokes went to the Indian batters and offered the draw before the last hour's play was to start. But with Jadeja and Washington batting on 89 and 80, the Indians didn't take the offer from Stokes and chose to continue batting. The relevant rule in the Playing Conditions for Test cricket is '12.7.6 Last Hour' and reads: A minimum of 15 overs shall be bowled in the last hour and all calculations with regard to suspensions of play or the start of a new innings shall be based on 1 over for each full 4 minutes (refer to clause 12.7.9 below). 22 On the final day, if both captains (the batters at the wicket may act for their captain) accept that there is no prospect of either side achieving a victory, they may agree to finish the match after (a) the time for the commencement of the last hour has been reached OR (b) there are a minimum of 15 overs to be bowled, whichever is the later. Shortly after this drama, Jadeja scored his century as England resorted to bowling loopy deliveries to him through Harry Brook. Jadeja slammed a six down the ground to score his 2nd Test century. There was a line heard on the stump mic: 'You want to get a Test hundred against Harry Brook?' 'The England players are not applauding the century here, they are standing with arms folded. I'd ask them to keep batting, and keep the team on the field for the full 15 overs,' former India captain Sunil Gavaskar said on commentary on Sony Sports Network. He went on to add that someone should question England in the media conference why they batted till they scored 669 in their first innings, and not declare earlier. The players did eventually shake hands in the end after Washington Sundar got to his maiden Test century. Former England captain Michael Atherton called it farcical bowling from Brook in the end, but Washington has earned this.

India To Pull Out Of Asia Cup 2025 Match Vs Pakistan? BCCI Source Gives Update

Last Updated: BCCI sources confirmed India's participation in the Asia Cup, including the match against Pakistan on September 14. India's match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup will go ahead as scheduled, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) cannot withdraw from the tournament. The clash between the arch-rivals, despite the growing uncertainty, will be played as planned after the Indian cricket board gave the green light during the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting, sources said. On Saturday, the ACC released the Asia Cup schedule, confirming the league stage clash between India and Pakistan will take place on September 14. Both teams are grouped in Group A along with hosts UAE and Oman. 'The BCCI cannot withdraw from the tournament or the match now. The decision was agreed upon after the ACC meeting. Since India is the host nation, nothing can be changed at this stage. An official-level discussion took place, and the outcome was decided accordingly. The match will go ahead as scheduled," BCCI sources were quoted as saying by IANS on Sunday. Uncertainty mounts over the India-Pakistan clash after the India Champions team, led by Yuvraj Singh, declined to play against the Pakistan Champions in Birmingham during the ongoing second season of the World Championship of Legends. This led the organisers to cancel the match. The players made this decision in response to the heightened political tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. However, the BCCI has so far not commented on boycotting Pakistan in the continental tournament after the announcement of the Asia Cup schedule. Ending months of speculation, ACC president and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi officially announced the dates for the 17th edition of the Asia Cup on Saturday. The Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format, aligning with preparations for the 2026 T20 World Cup, and will feature eight teams for the first time in its history. India and Pakistan have been placed in Group A, along with hosts UAE and Oman, while Group B includes Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. The top teams from each group will advance to the Super Four stage, followed by the final, raising the possibility of up to three India vs Pakistan encounters in the tournament. India are the defending champions after beating Sri Lanka in the final of the 2023 edition. First Published: July 27, 2025, 16:36 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
