A South superstar's private apology to Tamannaah Bhatia now goes public. Actress reveals superstar's behaviour after she refused a scene
Tamannaah Bhatia, a prominent South Indian actress, recently shared her early career challenges, including an incident where a male actor suggested replacing her after she voiced discomfort with a scene. She also addressed rumors linking her romantically to Virat Kohli, clarifying their interaction was purely professional and limited to a single commercial shoot.
Agencies Tamannaah Bhatia's Journey: Rising Through Rejection, Rumours, and Resolve Tamannaah Bhatia, now a top-tier actress in South Indian cinema, didn't have an easy beginning in the film industry. During a candid conversation with The Lallantop , the Baahubali star reflected on the early challenges she faced as a young newcomer. Entering the entertainment world at a tender age, she was forced to confront the harsh reality that female actors are often seen as replaceable. This awareness struck early in her career, shaping her understanding of the industry's dynamics. She recalled being cast alongside a prominent South Indian male actor, only to find herself in a troubling situation. While filming, she encountered a scene that made her deeply uncomfortable. Choosing to voice her concerns and uphold her personal boundaries, she informed the team that she was not at ease performing it. However, her decision wasn't well received. The male lead, offended by her refusal, responded strongly—suggesting that the production should simply replace her with another actress.
Reflecting on the moment, Tamannaah shared that being young in the industry often opens the door to manipulation. She noticed that some individuals go out of their way to undermine a newcomer's confidence by insinuating that their opinions don't matter. In her case, she experienced several instances where people attempted to embarrass her or question her professionalism simply because of her age. However, she refused to let these experiences shake her resolve.
"I think people try to shake your confidence because you are young and show that you don't know it. You don't understand because you are not that age. So that happened many times. People try to humiliate you. I was once doing a film with a very big South star. And in some scenes, I had to say that I cannot do this. I am not comfortable with this. There was something in that scene with which I was not comfortable. I said that I am not comfortable doing this scene. Then the star said, 'Change the heroine'," she recalled. Despite the tension on set, the actor involved later approached Tamannaah to apologise. The next day, he admitted his behavior had been driven by anger and offered a sincere apology. This act of contrition, though unexpected, helped mend the situation to some extent. But the experience left her with a lasting lesson about power dynamics in the film world.Tamannaah also took the opportunity to clear the air regarding earlier rumours linking her romantically with Indian cricketer Virat Kohli. The speculation had emerged after the two appeared together in a commercial. Putting the record straight, she clarified that their interaction was strictly professional and lasted just a single day. She never spoke to or met him again following that shoot. On the professional front, Tamannaah has several major projects lined up. She will be seen in four Hindi films—Romeo (a Vishal Bhardwaj directorial co-starring Shahid Kapoor and Tripti Dimri), Ranger, IPS Maria, and Vvan: Force of the Forrest.

Saiyaara PR team went overboard with theatre clips, says Varun Badola: 'Chudiyaan tod rahe hain, chhaati peet rahe hain'
The romantic drama, Saiyaara, has broken several box office records and made Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda overnight sensations. In a recent interview with Screen, actor Varun Badola called out the film's PR team for going overboard in creating a euphoria around the film on social media. Varun Badola calls out Saiyaara's PR team of going over the board. Varun explained how, while working on the film, no one thought it would get so big. However, when the film broke records at the box office on the third day, it was then that everyone realised it had become that big. He further revealed that he hadn't watched Saiyaara yet. Varun Badola says Saiyaara's PR team went overboard Varun called out the promotional team of the film for going over the board and said, 'By the third or fourth day, the film was being talked about. I saw the euphoria on Instagram. Log jo chudiyaan tod rahe hain, chhaatiyaan peet rahe hai (People were breaking their bangles, beating their chest). I think the promotions team went a little overboard there, where people are going to see the film, putting IV drips.' He added, "Those people must have been told to give content in some way; thank god, people didn't get their legs broken and went crawling to see the film. It's okay. We understand promoting the film, but it's good only up to a certain level. However, the film cannot earn so much money just based on Instagram promotions. People have gone and seen the film, and they have loved it." What Mohit Suri said on 'paid theatre videos' Varun essayed the role of Ahaan's father in the film. After the first weekend, videos of viewers crying their eyes out, shouting, and fainting in theatres during the film's screening surfaced on the internet, and many accused it of being paid PR. However, speaking to Zoom, Mohit Suri clarified that the reactions were authentic and organic and said, 'We have tried to be honest all through this film. People think the viral theatre videos were created, but we have not done that." About Saiyaara Helmed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara tells the story of a struggling and troubled musician, Krissh Kapoor, who meets an aspiring journalist and a poet, Vaani Batra (played by Aneet Padda). He finds poems in her diary and turns those words into songs. As they work on songs together, with Vaani writing lyrics for him, they fall in love with each other. However, fate puts their relationship to the test and separates them. The rest of the tale shows whether they unite at the end or not. Backed by Aditya Chopra's YRF, the film marked Ahaan Panday's Bollywood debut and made both Ahaan and Aneet overnight sensations. The film, which also stars Rajesh Kumar, Geeta Aggarwal (Vaani's parents), Alam Khan (Krissh's friend) and Shann Groverr (Vaani's ex-fiancé), has grossed ₹304 crore at the Indian box office and over ₹500 crore worldwide — thus emerging as the biggest romantic drama ever in Indian cinema and the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2025 after Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava ( ₹807.91 crore worldwide).

One user wrote, 'Easier for kids to learn a language to speak as they are not worried about the correct way to pronounce a particular word/sentence." Another added, 'Real Problem is our schools. The government should make local language mandatory in schools so that 2nd generation immigrants will learn the language at least." 'It's simple. Indians just don't respect their own language. They will learn French, Spanish etc., while sitting in India, but will proudly they don't know the local language," pointed out a user. A person wrote, 'It's fun and positive when she did it by herself. Not so fun when goons are shouting at you or threatening you with weapon. Understand the difference." 'I feel it's easy to learn during schooling, she might be having Kannada as a subject. I tried learning 40-50 words so far, but I don't have anyone to talk to. So I easily forget," read a comment. 'Entitlement, arrogance, and a condescending attitude toward the language, culture, and people of the land they've settled in, despite benefiting from the leniency shown by Bengalureans, in whose city they are earning their bread and butter – This is their hidden excuse," remarked a user. view comments Location : Delhi, India, India First Published: August 07, 2025, 16:28 IST News viral Russian Girl, Studying In Bengaluru, Sings Kannada Poem With Her Indian Bestie Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
