Mid-air rape horror as businessman, 44, attacks sleeping girl, 15, on flight to Zurich
The 44-year-old married man attacked the teenager, who was sitting next to him, after she fell asleep during the nine-hour journey from Mumbai to Zurich.
The perpetrator was on a business trip to Belgium when he committed the crime in March.
The girl and the man had a brief, superficial conversation before the minor fell asleep.
The man then approached her and performed sexual acts on her and himself.
He confessed to the acts in the Bülach District Court and stated that he realized he had made a mistake.
He also admitted that the young woman had not consented.
It comes as, after controversial debates, the National Council of Switzerland and the Council of States agreed on the formula 'no means no.'
The amendment came into effect a year ago and means rape is now considered to have occurred if the victim indicates through words or gestures that they do not consent to the sexual act.
Before the amendment, rape only occurred if the perpetrator threatened the victim or used violence.
Furthermore, the crime of rape no longer encompasses only forced sexual intercourse with a woman, but now also includes acts similar to sexual intercourse involving physical penetration.
The victim's state of shock is sufficient as a sign of rejection.
The man was convicted of rape and sexual acts with a child.
The man received a suspended sentence of 1.5 years, but will not need to serve it as he has been in custody since March.
The judge described the sentence as rather lenient and 'barely appropriate.'
The man is banned from entering Switzerland for the next five years and is prohibited from engaging in any activity involving regular contact with minors for life.
The proceedings will cost him approximately CHF 9,000 (£8,250). The confiscated CHF 1,360 (£1,247) will be used to cover these costs.
After the trial, the man was released from custody and handed over to the Migration Office for deportation.

Manhunt launched after woman ‘raped in broad daylight' in park
Police are appealing for information after reports that a woman was raped in a park in East Sussex. The incident at Barrack Hall Park, in Bexhill, was reported just after 5.30pm on Monday, Sussex Police said. The victim, a woman in her twenties, is receiving support from specially trained officers, the force said. Sussex Police described the alleged perpetrator as a white man wearing a short-sleeved top and trousers. He is not believed to be known to the victim. The force said officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in or around Barrack Hall Park, or near the entrance, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Monday 18 August. They are also appealing to anyone who may have captured video footage in the park around that time – including on mobile phones, dashcams, or other devices – to come forward, as this could provide vital evidence. Officers are also looking at CCTV in the area. Detective Inspector James Meanwell said: 'We understand this incident will cause significant concern within the local community. We want to assure residents that we are working tirelessly, with dedicated patrols in place to provide reassurance and visibility while we carry out a thorough investigation. 'The victim in this investigation will continue to receive the full support of specialist officers. THIS is the terrifying moment a thug shot a cop with a crossbow after stabbing his neighbour and threatening his partner with a knife. Jason King launched into a gruesome rampage after rowing with Alistair Mahwuto in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. 6 6 6 The 55-year-old stabbed the victim, 63, in the stomach before he was captured on doorcam footage still holding the knife. King claimed he believed he could speak to the neighbour's dog Rocco and threatened to set the animal on the family. He ranted: "Touch my f***ing car dog's going to kill you in a minute. "Rocco's going to rip you to shreds." When police were scrambled to the quiet street, grinning King stormed out of his house with a crossbow. Horrifying footage shows him prowling with the large weapon before firing at one of the officers, who suffered a significant injury to his leg. He then threatened a second cop and tried to shoot a police dog but thankfully missed. The rampage only came to an end when an armed officer fired one shot at King in a park - hitting him in the stomach. King was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries, and was released ten days later and charged. He has now been jailed for nine years after pleading guilty to GBH with intent, GBH, affray, possession of a weapon and possession of a bladed article in a public place. Two other charges, criminal damage and cultivation of cannabis, were left to lie on file. Amersham Law Courts heard the horror unfolded on May 10 last year following a "long-running" dispute between King and his neighbour Alistair. The victim's partner called 999 begging for help as King waved a knife outside their front door after stabbing Alistair. Police then swooped on the street where King, who had fled back to his home, began firing from an upstairs window. Prosecutor Graham Smith said: "(An officer) looked around, he saw the defendant was now exiting the address, he noticed he was now crouching down as he ran and the defendant was grinning." The thug blasted PC Curtis Foster in the leg - causing a two to three-centimetre wound near to an artery. King made his way to a nearby park where the officer, who has since made a full recovery, managed to run to escape. An armed officer then shot at King after he refused to drop his weapon. PC Foster managed to make a full recovery from his injuries, while Alistair was treated for a stab wound. In a victim impact statement, he said the horror had "affected me more than I would have ever imagined". He also told how he is now debating moving away from the area where he lived for 30 years. Of his injury, he added: "The doctor said to me that if it had been a few centimetres higher, it could have been fatal". The officer shot by King said the incident had "changed my outlook on life a bit", and that he feels more "protective" about his colleagues now. Following the horror, a mandatory referral was made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct. The watchdog concluded their probe in November and found no wrong-doing. Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Nick Hind, of Thames Valley Police's Major Crime Unit, said: 'The courage of our officers in dealing with this incident was second to none. 'On what was a warm spring evening, King undertook some extreme violence, stabbing a neighbour before arming himself with a crossbow and going back outside, where he posed a considerable threat to the local community. "King was an extremely dangerous man, who posed a significant threat to police, other emergency services and members of the community. 'He had already stabbed a neighbour before shooting at our officers, and I believe the actions of all the officers responding to this incident prevented the potential of mass casualty event." 6 6 6
