Boma has six caps for Togo but was born in France and currently plays for Estoril in Portugal who are managed by former Hearts boss Ian Cathro.
He joined the Portuguese club for a fee of around £210,000 last year and has played 27 times in the league this season, scoring once.
According to Foot Mercato, Rangers are expected to make an offer for the defender in the upcoming transfer window.
But other suitors may have more to spend, including Union Berlin of the Bundesliga and Swiss Super League champions Basel.
He is reportedly valued at between £5m and £6m by Estoril.
Boma has earned nominations to the Portuguese team of the week several times and was first capped by Togo in 2024 whilst signed with Rodez, just before his move to Estoril was completed.
He spent two years with Rodez in Ligue 2 in France and prior to that he was on the books at Angers and Tours.
Boma spent the majority of his youth career with Stade Poitevan before moving to Guingamp and then Tours.
Rangers signed Raphael Fernandes from Lille on loan in the January transfer window but he has barely kicked a ball in the Premiership.
Neraysho Kasanwirjo also looks likely to return to Feyenoord once his loan expires.

The main starters in the centre of defence for the Light Blues this term have been John Souttar, Robin Propper and Leon Balogun.
Dujon Sterling and James Tavernier have occasionally deputised at centre-back, either due to injuries and suspensions or when playing a back three under interim boss Barry Ferguson.
The only other centre-back with first team experience is Leon King, who has spent the second half of the season on loan at Queen's Park in the Championship after rarely featuring under Philippe Clement.

Scott Brown in Lennon Miller Celtic transfer claim

The teenager was handed his first start for the national team as they travelled to face Liechtenstein in an international friendly. Steve Clarke's men ultimately triumphed by four goals to nil, as Che Adams' hat-trick, combined with a first Scotland goal for George Hirst, helped them to victory. Read more: Although he didn't score, Miller caught the eye, helping to set up Adams' second of the evening. Speaking live on BBC Two post-match, Brown weighed in on the midfielder's future: "You think, I can go to a Celtic and Rangers and I can break through there," he said. "The pay slip is probably about 10 times bigger as well at the same time as well. "What are the chances of you breaking through at a Rangers and Celtic? It's really, really hard. You've got to be really special; Lennon is really special. You can see it with his quality going forward, his calmness on the ball, but also, nothing fazes him. "He's talking in front of the press, he's happy as Larry. He probably goes home and plays the PlayStation. "He is really chilled, he's not a kind of big-time player." Miller is contracted at Motherwell until the summer of 2026. He was asked in May whether he thinks he'll be a Motherwell player come the beginning of the 2025/26 campaign: "Honestly, I don't know," he replied. "I don't even ask my agent. I just let him deal with it. We've got three games left of the season. That's my main focus to pick up points for Motherwell and see where that takes us."

Steven Gerrard favourite for Championship job that would see him replace former team-mate as manager

STEVEN GERRARD is the bookies' favourite to become Middlesbrough's next manager. The Liverpool legend has been out of work since leaving Al-Ettifaq in January. 1 He was linked with a return to Rangers but pulled out of the race before Russell Martin was appointed. Instead his return to management could come at Championship side Middlesbrough. If he gets the job he will succeed his former England team-mate Michael Carrick, who was sacked last week. Gerrard, 45, is the bookies' favourite to take over at the Riverside Stadium, ahead of Rob Edwards and Steve Cooper. It appears the former Three Lions star is keen on a return to the UK after an ill-fated spell in the Middle East. Gerrard lasted just 18 months at Al-Ettifaq and won 23 of his 59 matches in charge. That stint came after he was sacked at Aston Villa following a return of two wins in the opening 12 games of the 2022-23 Premier League season. His best reign came at Rangers, where he oversaw the club's first league title for nine years in 2021. He accumulated 102 points and went unbeaten in the Scottish Premier League, ending Celtic 's period of dominance. Gerrard won 65 per cent of his games in charge at Ibrox.

Cyriel Dessers minimum Rangers transfer fee revealed as AEK set to spend big on statement signing

The Greeks mean business after takeover by Marios Iliopoulos but new Ibrox regime determined to turn a profit on Dessers Greek Giants AEK are preparing to push the boat out to land Rangers hitman Cyriel Dessers. The enigmatic Ibrox striker has blasted 51 goals in two years in Glasgow but remains a divisive figure among the Light Blue legions. ‌ Now Record Sport understands AEK are keen to offer him a fresh start in the Greek capital - and are willing to spend big. ‌ The Yellow and Blacks were taken over by shipping magnate Marios Iliopoulos last year and he's determined to make a statement signing this summer. They've identified Gers' 30-year-old Nigeria international as the man they want to spearhead their big push to recapture the Super League title they last won in 2023. But they will likely have to start the bidding at the £5million mark as Rangers' new American owners prepare to dig their heels in. The previous Ibrox regime spent £4.5million when they signed the former Feyenoord forward from Italian outfit Cremonese in 2023 and new sporting director Kevin Thelwell believes his record of scoring a goal-every-other game in Glasgow justifies a return on that investment. Dessers has been the subject of interest in recent windows, with his agent Stijn Franics revealing earlier this year that he had as many as TEN clubs sniffing about his signature in January. None could come up with the cash Gers were looking for and he stayed on to finish the campaign in Glasgow only one shy of the 30 mark. ‌ Selling Dessers would free up some fresh funds for new boss Russell Martin to spend. Andrew Cavenagh and his partners from the San Francisco 49ers have vowed to inject £20m of fresh funds into the Ibrox coffers, with CEO Patrick Stewart promising the new gaffer a 'decent amount' would be ring fenced for recruitment purposes. ‌ But Martin has been told he will have to move players on if he wants to raise additional funds for what is likely to be a considerable rebuild this summer. Record Sport broke the news last week that Leicester City defender Conor Coady could be the first new face in bolster Gers' backline. Ib Rox chiefs have already made contact with the Foxes as they look to kick off the Martin revolution with the experienced ex-England's capture. We also revealed how Rangers are in the hunt for £4 million-rated Israeli striker Dor Turgeman, who could be the man to replace Dessers. Talks with his club Maccabi Tel Aviv are on going as Rangers look to land the 21-year-old hit-man.
