Ajay Devgn Reacts To Diljit Dosanjh's Hania Aamir Controversy: 'I Will Not Blame Anyone'
Diljit Dosanjh has been accused of hurting national sentiments for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3, especially after the shocking terror attack in Pahalgam.
Ajay Devgn has reacted to the controversy surrounding the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Diljit Dosanjh's recently released movie, Sardaar Ji 3. On Friday, Devgn was speaking at the Son Of Sardaar 2 trailer release event in Mumbai when he stated that he really can't say who is right or who is wrong. However, the actor suggested that Diljit and the authorities sit together for a discussion and sort out the matter.
'I don't know where the trolling comes from, what is right or what is wrong. I am not in his shoes to comment on that. He must have his own problems. People who are saying certain things are thinking from their point of view. Such different views can be resolved by discussions. I will not blame anybody, and I will not say who is right or who is wrong. I think they need a conversation," he said.
What Is Diljit Dosanjh's Sardaar Ji 3 Controversy?
Diljit Dosanjh has been accused of hurting national sentiments for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3, especially after the shocking terror attack in Pahalgam earlier this year. The film, which was released overseas on June 27, did not hit theatres in India.
However, the casting of Hania has angered many, including the All India Cine Workers Association and Federation of Western India Cine Employees, among others. The organisations have been demanding a complete ban on Diljit, including his concerts in India.
Previously, the Punjabi singer-actor also broke his silence on the controversy and told BBC Asian Network that the project was completed before any of the current political tensions surfaced.
'Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in Feb and then everything was fine. Uske baad, bhut saari badi cheezen humare haath mein nahi hai. Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bahut paisa laga hua hai aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi," he said, adding that the makers are aware they will incur losses. 'Now the situation is not in our hands. So if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them."
