Viewers are 'sobbing so aggressively' after gutting return of TV character

The Last of Us fans have been left emotionally reeling after Pedro Pascal's return as the late Joel Miller in the new episode.
Spoilers ahead for The Last of Us season two episode six.
The flashback episode poignantly explored the relationship between Joeland Bella Ramsey's character Ellie who forge a heart-wrenching (and messy) father-daughter dynamic in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Show lovers were already completely destroyed after Joel died earlier this season (even if it had been foretold by the video games the show is based on) just after Ellie trust in Joel is shattered after discovering he forsook humanity to save her.
Now, creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, are rubbing salt in the wound with the return of Pedro's character through a series of flashbacks including snippets from Ellie's birthday and the fateful moment on the porch the night before his murder.
As Druckmann revealed to Hollywood Reporter, we get to see Joel and Ellie 'one more time' as 'the happiest they've ever been, maybe the saddest they've been with each other, and the angriest they've ever been'.

In that last conversation on the porch they finally have a chance to process Joel's decision to save Ellie even if it means they may never find a cure for the fungal pandemic that's wiped everyone out.
Just as season one's Long, Long Time became the standout episode of the show (if not the year), The Price seems to be the season two version that has shaken fans to their core.
Not least Joel's confession of the magnitude of his love for Ellie encapsulated by the line: 'Because I love you, in a way you can't understand. maybe you never will,' to justify his actions which he would do all over again.
'That's one of – if not the best episode of the series and also just one of the best episodes of television I've ever seen. The story of Joel and Ellie is beautifully tragic,' LucasNoShot wrote on X.

'The whole porch scene was such a masterclass of acting by both Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. They did such an incredible job with bringing this scene to life. Joel's love for Ellie will always leave me in tears,' Giselle declared.
'Being a fan of the game, I didn't expect all the flashbacks to be put in one episode, but it was so beautifully done. I appreciate that new ones were written in to this that weren't in the game. Pedro and Bella are just a fantastic duo. Many tears were shed,' Michelle Reed reflected.
'Ok so where's his emmy, golden globe, critics choice, and all the other awards this man deserves for this performance,' Tabby asked.

'Between pedro's performances in his 'i'm failing in my sleep' monologue in season 1 and the porch scene in season 2, no one deserves an emmy and more recognition for bringing a character to life so beautifully than he does for Joel Miller,' Tarrin shared.
Discussing the approach to shooting the porch scene, Druckmann added to THR: ' I remember the day of shooting, I pulled Pedro and Bella aside and mentioned how important the scene is and how powerful it can be, and how important it is for their characters.
'Specifically, 'This is your last conversation with each other. You've been withholding all this stuff, all these questions, so hold nothing back.''

The six locations in North Wales rumoured for House of the Dragon filming

More info Six film location sites in northwest Wales are said to have been earmarked for season three of HBO's House of The Dragon (HoTD). Some were used in summer 2023, others are new. Three large sets are already taking shape at Dinorwig Quarry near Llanberis, which in season two served as an HoTD backdrop for Harrenhal Castle, the largest fortification in Westeros. Props assembled so far suggest the aftermath of a visit by a fire-breathing dragon to the Harrenhal battle camp in the Riverlands. Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has hinted of more filming at Traeth Llanddwyn and Newborough Forest in southwest Anglesey, where some trees are being felled. According to a source close to the production team, film crews will also be returning to Penmon in south west Anglesey. Other locations are in Eryri (Snowdonia), including Cwm Idwal and its iconic lake in the Ogwen Valley, Gwynedd. Two sites near Capel Curig, Conwy, have also been scouted. A seventh site, in Nant Peris at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), will reportedly be used as the production team's base. Northwest Wales was one of the main stars of season two, when eight locations were used. Half of these were on Anglesey, including Beaumaris and Porth-y-Cŵch. Llanddwyn Beach, near Newborough village, saw a good deal of filming and is said to have provided the backdrop for parts of Dragonstone. In a social media post NRW said an un-named TV production company was back on site this week. They were undertaking 'small scale preparation works' at the Twyni Penrhos area of Newborough Forest. This involved removing a 'small number of unsafe trees', along with rough vegetation and tree stumps. The area will be restored to dune grassland and native scrub which will benefit wildlife and the local environment and provide accommodation space for filming equipment. "There will be no disruption to visitors.' At present it's unclear if HoTD will be returning to Trefor Quarry on the Gwynedd coast, which was transformed into Dragonstone Castle for season two. Billy Joel's tragic past - car crashes, addiction battle and suicide attempt
Billy Joel, also known as the Piano Man, is one of the most respected entertainers in the world - but the famous singer has faced his fair share of tragedy over the years Billy Joel, affectionately known as the Piano Man, has been a beacon in the music world for more than 20 years, selling millions of records and mesmerising listeners far and wide. Yet despite his monumental success, the famed rocker has grappled with numerous personal tragedies. The 76-year-old, who hails from The Bronx, New York, paved the way for music during the 1970s and 80s, becoming one of the most successful artists with hits like Uptown Girl, Piano Man, and We Didn't Start the Fire. Offering the chance to look back on his best performances and moments over the years, 'Billy Joel at the BBC ' will air tonight at 8.40pm, honouring the talented musician. But away from fame and success, Billy has been involved in several car crashes, confronted addiction demons, endured mental health issues, and eventually decided to step back from songwriting. When reflecting on what he cherishes most about his journey, Joel once remarked: "My ability to move on with life. I've had difficulties in my life, but it never stopped me from continuing." He added: "Troubles with business didn't stop me from doing business. I have no bitterness about anything, even people who rip me off, I let it go. I'm content with that I'm happy. I'm having a happy ending." The legendary 'Vienna' singer hasn't had an easy ride, literally – he's encountered alarmingly frequent mishaps behind the wheel, causing concern among his supporters over the years. Joel found himself embroiled in three separate motoring incidents in the early 2000s. His most recent scrape occurred in 2004, when he accidentally propelled his vehicle into a house in Long Island. Thankfully, there were no other victims, and the star emerged with nothing worse than a nick on his finger. In January 2003, Joel had a car crash in Sag Harbor, driving his Mercedes -Benz into a tree and sustaining minor head injuries, with paramedics whisking him off to hospital. Fast forward to June 2004, and the singer was involved in another prang in East Hampton, this time hitting a fire hydrant and post, again suffering minor injuries and declining medical help. Opening up about his battles with alcoholism, Joel admitted that his substance abuse issues, particularly with alcohol, were an obstacle to achieving his full potential. In a candid chat with he confessed: "If I couldn't be as good as I wanted to be, I'd just drown it with booze. I know I've got a reputation that I'm this depressed guy. I'm not - I'm a happy guy. I was in rehab twice." He remarked: "It was one of the best things I ever did." Joel also revealed to Howard Stern his forays into drug experimentation, noting that heroin was the drug that frightened him the most due to its addictive nature. This fear, he explained, fuelled the creation of his track Scandinavian Skies. The artist opened up about his mental health battles, including a suicide attempt detailed in his autobiography, which occurred during career struggles in his 20s. Despite the hurdles, Joel emerged as a musical legend, boasting 13 studio albums and an impressive repertoire of over 121 songs that resonated through generations. Yet, the hitmaker confided to the LA Times that he hung up his hat on creating new tunes, finding the process "excruciating". Joel elaborated: "I didn't have the same motivation anymore. You need inspiration to create good new music, and if you don't have it, don't bother. Get off the treadmill, for Christ's sake." Then last month, the iconic singer cancelled his gigs after he was diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) - a condition that leads to fluid accumulation in the brain. In a social media update, Billy explained to fans that it causes issues with hearing, vision and balance. In a further update this week, his close friend and radio host Howard Stern, 71, revealed that the Piano Man singer is "doing fine" as he relayed a message from the star. Speaking on his Sirius XM show, The Howard Stern Show, Howard said: "He does have issues, but he said, 'Yeah, you can tell people, I'm not dying'. He wants people to know that." Howard and Joel recently enjoyed a dinner together a few weeks before, and the radio presenter said: "He's got to deal with some medical stuff, but he was delightful." He added to co-host Robin Quivers that he had a "great conversation" with Billy and that the singer "brought out a guitar" while celebrating Billy's birthday in early May.

There has been speculation that the two co-stars had drifted apart after being on the HBO show, which follows the lives of guests and staff at a luxury resort as dark secrets are revealed and tensions rise over the course of the holiday. I adore, I love this woman (Aimee) madly, and she is so important to me.' 'I think it's such a comment on where we're at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don't give a shite about Instagram,' Wood said. Goggins said that when he finished The White Lotus he 'needed to just back away from everyone', as it is his 'process' when filming a project ends. 'It's all so ridiculous,' he said.
