For more than 140 years, The Sagaponack General Store was the quaint beating heart of a sleepy Hamptons village.
When it first opened in 1878, customers would arrive in horse-drawn carriages to buy penny candy and goods far cheaper than they are now.

By the end, you'll not only have the knowledge to build your first SaaS app—you'll also have the confidence to take that first step toward making it a reality. Because every great product starts with a single bold decision. Solo SaaS Development Guide Phase 1: Define Your Idea and Develop a Plan Every successful app begins with a well-defined purpose and a clear understanding of its target audience. Start by identifying the problem your app will solve and the specific group of users it will serve. Use tools like AI-powered product managers to map out user personas, pain points, and measurable success metrics. For instance, if you're building a recipe app, consider your audience's cooking expertise, dietary preferences, and challenges in preparing restaurant-quality meals. Document these insights into detailed user stories and a comprehensive feature specification. This document will act as your blueprint, guiding you through the development process and making sure you stay aligned with your goals. Phase 2: Design the User Experience and Technical Framework A seamless and intuitive user experience (UX) is essential for your app's success. Begin by designing a cohesive visual system, including consistent color schemes, typography, and layouts. Map out user journeys to visualize how users will interact with your app, such as uploading photos of dishes or navigating recipe dashboards. On the technical side, define your app's architecture. Choose backend frameworks, frontend libraries, and database schemas that align with your app's requirements. Specify API contracts to ensure smooth communication between components. Planning deployment configurations and infrastructure at this stage will save time and effort during later phases. How to Build Your First SaaS App (No Code) Watch this video on YouTube. Below are more guides on SaaS application development from our extensive range of articles. Phase 3: Establish Your Development Environment Setting up a reliable development environment is crucial for maintaining consistency and efficiency throughout your project. Use tools like Docker to create local environments that replicate production settings. This ensures that your app behaves consistently across different stages of development. Organize your backend and frontend repositories, including all necessary dependencies. For example, Docker containers allow you to test new features locally before deploying them to the cloud, minimizing errors and streamlining the development process. This setup ensures a smoother workflow and reduces the risk of unexpected issues during deployment. Phase 4: Develop Core Features With your foundation in place, focus on building the core functionalities of your app. Prioritize features that directly address user needs and enhance the overall experience. Examples of essential features include: Authentication and Onboarding: Implement user registration, login, and onboarding flows. Collect user preferences, such as dietary restrictions, to personalize their experience. Implement user registration, login, and onboarding flows. Billionaire tennis nepo baby suffers shock defeat at Cincinnati Open - after her tycoon father's near £100m investment in 'insane' tournament upgrades

American tennis star Emma Navarro suffered a shock second round defeat at the Cincinnati Open - just days after the tournament unveiled £193million upgrades largely paid for by her father. Navarro, the world No 11, was stunned by German qualifier Ella Seidel at the tournament on Sunday. She was beaten 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 in her first singles match, having received a bye through the first round of the event. Navarro is the daughter of American billionaire investment tycoon, Ben Navarro, who is worth a reported £3billion. The 62-year-old had built his billionaire empire thanks to numerous business ventures, most notably being the founder and owner of Sherman Financial Group, which has assets such as Credit One Bank. In 2022, Beemok Capital – the family office of Navvarro - announced it had bought the Western and Southern Open. He then confirmed in 2023 that the tournament would remain in Cincinnati for at least the next 25 years and confirmed plans to upgrade the ATP and WTA tour event. In the last 12 months, the Lindner Family Tennis Center has undergone large scale upgrades which has seen a £193million renovation and expansion. Navarro reportedly covered half of the cost himself, with local governments responsible for the remainder. The upgrades having included a new 2,300-seat sunked stadium, with the tournament doubling in size with 13 new courts. The Cincinnati Open has grown in scale from a 20 acre site up to 40 acres. Investment has also included the addition of a new clubhouse, which includes a restaurant and lounge area for players, as well as an indoor tennis centre and operations centre. Women's world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka was among the players to hail the upgrades to the event, which she described as 'insane'. 'Oh my god, it's insane,' said Sabalenka. New look, same energy. Welcome to the all new Cincinnati Open. — Cincinnati Open (@CincyTennis) August 2, 2025 'Honestly, when I first came here I was like, "what's going on?" I was like, "where am I?". It took me a little while to feel comfortable in the previous venue and now it's like we are in a completely different tournament. 'But honestly I love it so much. It's more space. You feel a bit free and the locker room is bigger. You are not, like, on top of another player. 'So it's insane what they have been able to do in the last year. I am just shocked and I like it.' Ben Navarro, who also owns the Charleston Open, has also been a major supporter of his daughter Emma's tennis career. Ben and his wife Kelly had watched their daughter at Wimbledon last month as she reached the fourth round, falling just short of matching her quarter-final run last year. Navarro has struggled for form in recent weeks, with the loss on Sunday following an early exit at the Canadian Open. The American star and her younger sister Margaret were also handed a wildcard entry into the women's doubles tournament at the Cincinnati Open. The pair were comfortably beaten 6-2, 6-3 by Giuliana Olmos and Aldila Sutjiadi.

Oil falls as markets focus on US-Russia talks

LONDON, Aug 11 (Reuters) - Oil prices fell on Monday, extending last week's more than 4% decline, as investors looked to talks between the U.S. and Russia later this week on the war in Ukraine. Brent crude futures fell 45 cents, or 0.68%, to $66.14 a barrel by 0826 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures were down 49 cents, or 0.77%, to $63.39. U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that he would meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 15 in Alaska to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine. The talks follow increased U.S. pressure on Russia, raising the prospect that penalties on Moscow could also be tightened if a peace deal is not reached. Trump set a deadline of last Friday for Russia, which invaded Ukraine in February 2022, to agree to peace or have its oil buyers face secondary sanctions. At the same time, Washington is pressing India to reduce purchases of Russian oil. UBS has lowered its year-end Brent crude forecast to $62 a barrel from $68, citing higher supply from South America and resilient output from sanctioned countries. An Exxon Mobil-led consortium began crude production four months earlier than expected at a fourth floating production, storage and offloading vessel in Guyana, Exxon said on Friday. Consultancy Energy Aspects estimated Indian refiners have already purchased WTI totalling 5 million barrels for August loadings, with an incremental 5 million barrels possible depending on tender outcomes, and 5 million barrels for September loadings. Trump's higher tariffs on imports from dozens of countries, which took effect on Thursday, are expected to weigh on economic activity as they force changes to supply chains and fuel higher inflation. Separately, data from the National Bureau of Statistics on Saturday showed China's producer prices fell more than expected in July.
