West Indies vs Pakistan, 2nd T20I: Live Score and Updates from Lauderhill

09:36 IST:That's all from this nail-biting game, where the Windies stay alive in the series and push it to a thrilling finale. There's barely any time to catch your breath, as the 3rd T20I between West Indies and Pakistan is just around the corner, less than 24 hours away, scheduled for 4th August, Monday, starting at 12 am GMT. Make sure to join us early for all the pre-match build-up and analysis. Until then, take care and goodbye! 09:34 IST:Shai Hope, the victorious skipper of West Indies, says that hats off to the bowlers for setting up the game, as the pitch was a bit challenging. Adds that they know they had limited time to overcome the struggles, but the guys worked hard in the nets to improve. Mentions that they are known for the big hits, but singles were needed in the middle as the pitch was not there for strokeplay. Ends by saying that hopefully, they can learn from this bat well and seal the series in the next game. 09:31 IST:Salman Agha, the captain of Pakistan, says that they did not bat well in the Powerplay and also did not finish well. Adds that they bowled and fielded well, and he is proud of his team. Mentions that defending such a low score, it was good to see the team put in a fight. Praises the spinners and reckons that they are ready for the Asia Cup, but there is always room for improvement. Ends by saying that the fans always support them around the worl,d and they are thankful to them. 09:29 IST:Jason Holder is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his all-round brilliance. He says that he just wanted to take his team over the line. Adds that it has been a tough couple of weeks for the team, and they needed this victory. Mentions that he told Shepherd they needed at least four sixes in the last three overs, but they only got three. However, they managed to find the gaps, which helped them, but also credited the Pakistan bowlers for keeping things tight. Says that the Australia series gave them a lot of positives. Tells that they managed to pick up wickets at all phases of the game, which was pleasing to watch. Further adds that he loves playing for his country, but also admits that consistency is needed and a lot of work is still left to do. Ends by saying that they tried to create a difference, and hopefully they will be able to do that. 09:23 IST:Presentation Time... 09:23 IST:Pakistan can take plenty of pride from their bowling performance, but they'll also feel the sting of disappointment after letting a winning position slip away. Their spinners were outstanding, sharing six wickets between them, with Mohammad Nawaz leading the charge. They had the Windies on the ropes, but a couple of costly overs from the pacers and some untimely extras swung the game out of their grasp. 09:21 IST:Earlier in the game, after opting to bat first, Pakistan struggled to find any rhythm and could only manage a modest total. None of their batters really settled in, with the lone bright spot being a 60-run stand between skipper Salman Agha and Hasan Nawaz that offered some hope in an otherwise underwhelming effort. Jason Holder stole the show with the ball, delivering a brilliant four-wicket haul and surpassing Dwayne Bravo to become the leading wicket-taker for West Indies in T20Is. Gudakesh Motie chipped in with two crucial strikes, while Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, and Roston Chase claimed one apiece to keep the visitors in check. 09:20 IST:West Indies found it tough to get going in the Powerplay, losing both openers early. Shai Hope and Roston Chase offered some resistance, but their inability to stitch a partnership and persistent struggles against spin kept the pressure on as wickets continued to tumble. Just when things looked bleak, a quickfire cameo from Gudakesh Motie reignited their hopes, though the job was far from done. Romario Shepherd landed a few hefty blows to bring the equation down, and in the end, Jason Holder held his nerve, sealing the win with a boundary off the final ball. 09:16 IST:Are you not entertained? A thrilling contest ends with the West Indies snapping their long T20I losing streak and setting up a series decider. While there were several valuable contributions, Jason Holder stood head and shoulders above the rest, making an impact first with the ball and then finishing things off with the bat. Spare a thought for Pakistan though, they fought tooth and nail to stretch this game to the very end despite having so little to defend. 09:08 IST:19.6: Shaheen Afridi to Jason Holder, FOUR! HOLDER DOES IT FOR THE WINDIES! Who else? He has been the man for them in this game and fittingly hits the winning runs. 'Our batting order is quite sorted as of now': MS Dhoni on Chennai Super Kings batting line-up

New Delhi [India], August 3 (ANI): ICC Hall of Famer and Chennai Super Kings player MS Dhoni stated that the batting order of the franchise is sorted as the team skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, will be returning after recovering from injury. In the IPL 2025, an injury put an end to Gaikwad's season, as he made 122 runs in five matches, averaging 24.40, with two half-centuries. Not only was Gaikwad inconsistent, but he could win only one out of five matches during the season. Speaking during the event, Dhoni said, "I think our batting order is quite sorted as of now. Gaikwad will be coming back; he got injured, so he will be coming back. So it looks as if we are quite sorted now with a small auction coming in December. Whatever further loopholes are there, we will try to plug those in, but again, as I said, we have to be at our best at the start of the tournament and have to get the planning right. We have to use the resources in the best possible manner." In the 18th edition of the cash-rich league, the Chennai-based franchise finishes at the 10th spot after winning just four games out of their 14 games in the competition. Last year, as well, the CSK franchise was unable to qualify for the playoffs as they finished fifth after winning seven out of their 14 games in the tournament. Speaking about the last two seasons' performance, Dhoni said, "Last year as well, the CSK franchise were unable to qualify for the playoffs as they finished fifth after winning seven out of their 14 games in the tournament. " MS Dhoni, Midway through the IPL 2025 season, took the captaincy mantle on his shoulders while donning the finisher's role. He pulled the curtains down on the season with 196 runs from 14 matches at 24.50, with a Player of the Match award against Lucknow Super Giants. Behind the stumps, Dhoni turned back the clock and ignited the stumps with his lightning-quick reflexes on numerous occasions, serving as a stark reminder of his mastery with gloves. For Bravo, people would pay to see those fleeting moments being executed by 'Captain Cool'. (ANI)
