
Seven Luxurious Fabrics Used in Crafting Holy Kaaba's Kiswa
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque employs the finest, highest-quality materials to produce the Kiswa of the Holy Kaaba—continuing a tradition of meticulous craftsmanship that spans over a century.
The Authority highlights that seven distinct fabrics are supplied to the Kiswa Factory, including:
Plain green silk (used behind the curtain)
Patterned black silk
Plain black silk
Beige cotton (used as lining for the Kaaba cloth)
Plain red silk
White cotton fabric
Patterned green silk (used for the inner lining of the Kaaba and the covering of the Prophet's Chamber)
These carefully selected textiles reflect the sanctity and historical significance of the Kiswa's creation.

Over 40 million worshippers prayed at Prophet's Mosque during Hajj season
Saudi Gazette report MADINAH — The General Authority for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques announced on Thursday that the total number of worshippers at the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah during the 1446 Hajj season exceeded 40 million. According to official statistics, a cumulative total of 40,103,344 worshippers prayed at the mosque between Dhul Qadah 1 and Dhul Hijjah 29, 1446 AH. The authority attributed the high turnout to the integrated services and coordination between various agencies, which ensured that visitors were able to perform their rituals in a secure and peaceful environment. It also reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of services inside the mosque and its courtyards, aiming to meet the needs of worshippers and pilgrims from around the world and to elevate their spiritual experience.

Ladder of the Holy Kaaba: A symbol of care for the holiest of sites
Makkah: The ladder of the Holy Kaaba represents a unique piece that has witnessed, over the past 25 years, the occasions of washing the Kaaba and has remained present throughout, reflecting the great care for the holiest site, SPA reports. The General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque explained that the ladder, which was brought in 2000, is powered by 24 batteries. At its top, it includes a platform to illuminate the interior of the Holy Kaaba, along with central air-conditioning vents for cooling the inside of the Kaaba. It also contains three tanks for air-conditioning water, one tank designated for washing the Kaaba, and another for return water. The General Authority said that it has provided all advanced technologies, including those used in crafting the Kaaba's ladder, which was made from teak wood, the finest type of wood, with a length of 5.65 meters, a height of 4.80 meters, a width of 1.88 meters, and a weight of 6,500 kg. According to SPA, this comes as part of the General Authority's commitment to providing all advanced technologies for the components of the Holy Kaaba, in line with the directives of the leadership.

Makkah deputy governor washes Holy Kaaba on behalf of King Salman
MAKKAH: The washing ceremony of the Holy Kaaba was carried out on Thursday by the deputy governor of Makkah, Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, on behalf of King Salman. Upon his arrival, the deputy governor washed the interior of the Holy Kaaba with Zamzam water mixed with rose water, gently cleansing the inner walls with cloth pieces soaked in the sacred blend prepared by the General Authority for the Two Holy Mosques. He also performed Tawaf. During the washing ritual, the prince was accompanied by several officials, accredited Islamic diplomatic corps members to the Kingdom and the hereditary keepers of the Holy Kaaba.
