Kartik took to his Instagram Stories, where he shared a throwback image from a practice session for IIFA, which the two hosted.
In the picture, the actor and director are seen sitting on a sofa, having a light-hearted conversation filled with smiles and laughter.
Kartik captioned the post: "Happy birthday to the ray of entertainment @karanjohar. Lots of love and happiness."
The actor used the tune of his upcoming film "Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri" as the background score of the image. The film marks Kartik's first collaboration with Karan.
"Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri," directed by Sameer Vidwans, will be bankrolled by Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures. It is slated for a theatrical release on February 13, 2026.
As per reports, the actor will star alongside
Ananya Panday
in the film, marking their second collaboration after "Pati Patni Aur Woh," which released in 2019 and was directed by Mudassar Aziz.
On May 23, Kartik gave fans a sneak peek into his stunning transformation, captioned "Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri."
Ditching his long locks and rugged beard from his upcoming Anurag Basu film, he surprised everyone with a sharp new look-short hair and a trimmed beard.
"Ray is Raydyyyy #TuMeriMainTeraMainTeraTuMeri," he captioned the post.
Talking about Karan, he has marked his debut in the audio medium with new podcast 'Live Your Best Life with Karan Johar'.

Kannada Sahitya Parishat seeks to join petition against Kamal film release
Bengaluru: The Kannada Sahitya Parishat (KSP), has filed an impleading application before the high court in connection with a petition filed by Chennai-based Raajkamal Films International, producer of the Kamal Haasan-starrer 'Thug Life'. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Opposing the plea for police protection sought by the production house for the film's release in Karnataka, KSP, through its president Mahesh Joshi, argued that the Constitution does not grant absolute protection to speech, especially when it is likely to disturb public harmony or hurt the dignity of a language and its people. Referring to Kamal's controversial remark that Kannada originated from Tamil, KSP called it an intentional or reckless statement that undermines the status of Kannada. The apex body for Kannada literature also stated that the actor has not issued a formal apology or made any sincere attempt to clarify his stand. In its filing, KSP contended that police resources should not be used to protect commercial interests. It added that public protests, boycott calls, or expressions of anger over the film are all part of democratic expression, and do not automatically amount to unlawful threats that merit state protection. "The very Constitution the petitioner invokes to seek protection also allows peaceful dissent and criticism. To oppose a film is not to endanger law and order," KSP said. On June 3, the court adjourned the hearing after the filmmakers assured that 'Thug Life' would not be released in Karnataka until a dialogue is held with the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC). The matter is now posted to June 13 for further hearing.

Thug Life box office collection day 1 early estimate: Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam's latest collaboration Thug Life finally hit theatres on Thursday. Even after opening to poor reviews from critics and the audience, the film is off to a decent start at the box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Thug Life has collected Rs. 13.25 crore in India, as of 9 pm on Thursday. Due to the negative response, the action-drama is unlikely to even surpass opening numbers (Rs 26 crore) of Haasan's Indian 2, which was a disaster at the box office. According to Sacnilk, Thug Life recorded an overall Tamil-language occupancy of 48.72% on Thursday. Morning shows saw 50.66% occupancy, afternoon shows registered 50.35%, and evening shows dipped to 45.15%. Pondicherry reported the highest occupancy so far at 69.33%. The Mani Ratnam film is unlikely to rank in the biggest Tamil openers list of this year. Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly is the biggest Tamil opener of 2025 with Rs. 28.15 crore. The second spot belongs to Vidaamuyarchi at Rs. 25.5 crore, followed by Suriya's Retro at Rs. 17.25 crore. Haasan refused to apologise for his statement, which sparked a huge row, leading to the ban of the movie. Madhavan, who chillingly portrayed the antagonist in the psychological horror hit Shaitaan, recently opened up about the emotional and psychological toll of certain intense scenes from the film. In a new promotional interaction with Kajol for her upcoming horror film Maa, Madhavan reflected on one particular moment that left him deeply unsettled on set. The conversation, shared by JioStudios on YouTube, saw Kajol asking Madhavan if there were any scenes in Shaitaan that felt too disturbing or realistic to perform. Madhavan candidly responded, referencing a scene in which his character forces his on-screen daughter to dance all night, resulting in her wetting herself out of sheer physical strain. 'It was a very sensitive scene," Madhavan said. 'There's this moment where I make my daughter dance through the night. She reaches a point where she can't hold it anymore and urinates. In the original version of the film, the approach to the scene was different. But here, I realized that even as a villain, if I looked at her during that moment, it would send out a completely different message. I needed the audience to feel disgust—not pity or justification." Madhavan explained how he changed his physical performance to reflect that discomfort. 'So, I wrapped myself in a blanket, deliberately avoiding looking at her. That decision not only worked for the character but gave me relief as an actor. I could step away emotionally while still staying true to the role. I simply tell the mother, 'Can you go help your daughter?'" He further added, 'There were many such moments during filming that made me deeply uncomfortable. But I had to find ways to stay authentic while protecting myself emotionally." Shaitaan, directed by Vikas Bahl, is the Hindi adaptation of the 2023 Gujarati film Vash. It stars Ajay Devgn, Jyotika, and Janki Bodiwala alongside Madhavan in a dark and sinister role. The film, which follows a family held hostage by a mysterious man who exerts mind control over their daughter, was both a critical and commercial success, grossing over ₹100 crore at the Indian box office. Madhavan's raw honesty adds another layer to a performance that was already haunting—showing how even seasoned actors have to wrestle with the moral and emotional weight of their roles, especially in films that tread psychological depths.
