Scotland's Connor Syme leads going into final round of KLM Open
Scotland's Connor Syme will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the KLM Open in Amsterdam after a superb bogey-free 66 on Saturday.
The 29-year-old holed a 40-foot eagle putt at the third and added three birdies on his back nine, including at the final two holes, to overhaul Sweden's Joakim Lagergren at the top.
For the third day in succession the weather forced long delays to the event, with the course waterlogged in places during the morning as the final few players wrapped up a second round delayed by high winds.
Syme navigated the conditions perfectly and admitted he was "buzzing" after his round.
"Obviously a bonus to finish with a couple (of birdies) towards the end but overall really, really pleased," he added.
Compatriot Richie Ramsay finished the round in a share of third place with Ricardo Gouveia and Francesco Laporta, six shots off the lead and four behind Lagergren.
Syme said: "Obviously there's a bit of a gap at the moment for me and Joakim but with the weather tomorrow it can change so much, so quickly.
"I would love to do it, hopefully I can play my game tomorrow and I can do it. I'll just try to play one shot at a time and get that mindset from the start, and what will be will be."

Conor Purcell misses cut as winds disrupt KLM Open
Sweden's Joakim Lagergren led the KLM Open at the end of a disrupted second day while Conor Purcell was unable to make the weekend. Purcell shot a 75 to fall to five-over par, one shot outside the cut-line. Although a number of players were due back early on Saturday to complete their rounds as darkness prevented them from finishing on Friday, not enough will be on course to offer him a reprieve with the top 65 and ties making it through. The damage was done at the beginning and end of his back nine, Purcell recording a double-bogey on the 10th before closing with a bogey that likely cost him a Saturday tee off time. Winds of over 35mph in Amsterdam led to a two-hour stoppage due to "oscillating balls", extending play deep into the evening for a second successive day after Thursday's storms. Lagergren was already safely round in 68 for an eight-under-par halfway total, which proved too much for the chasing pack to match in tough scoring conditions.
