Chicago Sky Announce Change After Two Straight Losses

Chicago Sky Announce Change After Two Straight Losses originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Chicago Sky now own a 2-6 record during the 2025 WNBA season after Tuesday's 85 to 66 loss to the New York Liberty. Advertisement Tuesday's defeat marked the second consecutive game that the Sky lost by 19 points or more, and the fifth time they have lost by 13 or more points this season. In last Saturday's defeat against the Indiana Fever, the Sky lost 15-year veteran point guard Courtney Vandersloot for the season. She suffered a torn ACL just under five minutes into the contest. On Tuesday, new Sky head coach Tyler Marsh replaced Vandersloot in the starting lineup with Rachel Banham, a nine-year veteran who played a season-high 27 minutes in the loss. Chicago Sky guard Kia Nurse (11).Patrick Gorski-Imagn Images Banham mustered just three points and five assists on 1-for-6 shooting in the defeat. Backup guard Kia Nurse played 20 minutes off the bench and scored eight points on 3-for-6 shooting. Advertisement Before Friday's game against the 6-3 Atlanta Dream, the Sky announced that they had made a change to their starting lineup. Instead of starting Banham, Marsh opted for Nurse. "our starting 5️⃣ tonight," the Sky announced. Nurse is a seven-year veteran who has made stops with the Liberty, Phoenix Mercury, Seattle Storm and Los Angeles Sparks. This season for the Sky, she is contributing 7.5 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. After starting the first seven games of the 2025 campaign, Nurse came off the bench for one game against the Liberty. However, she is back in the starting lineup for Friday's Commissioner's Cup contest against the Dream. Advertisement Chicago will look to move up in the Eastern Conference standings with a win against Atlanta on Friday. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia. Hartenstein back in starting lineup for Thunder for Game 4 of the NBA Finals vs. Indiana

Hartenstein back in starting lineup for Thunder for Game 4 of the NBA Finals vs. Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS -- Oklahoma City went back to the lineup it used throughout the first three rounds of the playoffs on Friday night, returning Isaiah Hartenstein to the starting five for Game 4 of the NBA Finals against Indiana. Hartenstein started alongside MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Lu Dort and Chet Holmgren. The Hartenstein-Holmgren pairing gives the Thunder a pair of 7-footers in the opening five, and Oklahoma City was 12-4 in the Western Conference playoffs when starting that lineup. That fivesome was also 9-4 when starting games together in the regular season. The Thunder had Hartenstein coming off the bench for the first three games of the finals, with Cason Wallace starting in his place. Indiana took two of those three games. 'We have a lot of optionality that we draw on, almost nightly,' Thunder coach Mark Daigneault said earlier in the finals. 'If you followed our team throughout the season, I think you know that flexibility and adaptability is the only constant. We're never staying the same. I know we started the same lineup in the playoffs, but our rotation night to night in these series has been incredibly variant. We think that's a strength of our team.' The change comes after Indiana scored 50 points in the paint in Game 3, after managing only 34 in each of the first two games of the series.

Dodgers return to 'unsettling' situation in Los Angeles as protests continue

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts addressed the unrest in Los Angeles with protests sparked by immigration raids carried out by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. 'I know that when you're having to bring people in and, you know, deport people and just kind of all the unrest, it's certainly unsettling for everyone," Roberts said June 13 during his pregame press conference at Dodger Stadium. Roberts spoke before the Dodgers' first home game since the protests started June 6, facing the San Francisco Giants after a six-game road trip that began the same day the protests started. Roberts, who helped lead the Dodgers to World Series titles in 2020 and 2024, said he didn't know enough about the situation to "speak intelligently on it." "I don't know enough, to be quite honest with you," Roberts said, adding that he "hasn't done enough and can't speak intelligently on it." Multiple Dodgers players declined to discuss the unrest in Los Angeles when asked by USA TODAY Sports before the game. The USA TODAY app gets you to the heart of the news — fast.
