AAM PANHA
Ingredients
l Peeled Raw Mango Cubes 2 cup
l Sugar 1½ cup
l Cardamom Powder ½ tsp
l Cumin powder 1 tsp
l Black Pepper Powder ¼ tsp
l Black Salt to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
Step 1: - In a microwave safe bowl add the raw mangoes and water, mix well and select micro mode on high power, set time for 3 minutes and press start.
Step 2: - After the beep, remove the bowl and add the sugar, mix well and cook again for another 3 minutes. Add the cardamom powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder and salt, mix well. Allow it to cool completely. Once cooled blend it in a mixer to a smooth pulp. Transfer it into a deep bowl. Add 6 cups of chilled water, mix well and serve chilled.
MANGO FRUIT CUSTARD
Ingredients:
l Milk 4 cups
l Sugar ¾ cup
l Custard Powder 3 tbsp
l Water ½ cup
l Mango Puree 1 cup
l Mango Cubes 1 cup
l Apple Chopped ½ cup
l Banana Chopped ½ cup
l Red Grapes ½ cup
l Black Grapes ½ cup
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
Step 1: - In a small bowl, add water and custard powder, mix well and set aside.
Step 2: - Take a microwave oven safe bowl, add milk and sugar, mix well and select micro mode, set time for 6 minutes and press start to boil the milk.
Step 3: - After the beep, remove the bowl and add mango puree, custard powder, mix well and cook again for 3 minutes. (Stir twice in between). After it cools down, add chopped pieces of mango, apple, banana, red grapes and black grapes. Mix everything together and serve.
BAKED MANGO PUDDING
Ingredients:
l Milk 1 cup
l Butter 2 tbsp
l Mango Puree 1 ½ cup
l Custard Powder ¼ cup
l Grated Paneer 1 cup
l Condensed Milk ½ cup
l Sugar ½ cup
l Egg (Optional) 2
l Diced Mango Pieces (for garnishing)
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
Step1: - Take a lightly greased microwave oven safe bowl, add milk, butter, mango puree, and custard powder, mix well and select micro mode, set time for 3 minutes, press start to cook. (Stir twice in-between).
Step 2: - After the beep, remove the bowl from the oven and add grated paneer, condensed milk, sugar, mix well and cook again for 3 minutes. (Stir twice in-between). Set to cool.Step 3: - Take the silicon or pudding moulds. Pour the mango mixture into the pudding moulds. place the moulds in fridge for at least 3 to 4 hours to set. Garnish with mango pieces and serve.
COCONUT CUSTARD
Ingredients:
l Coconut Milk 1 ½ cup
l Whole Milk ¾ cup
l Vanilla Extract ½ tsp
l Coconut Extract ½ tsp
l Egg Yolks 3
l Sugar ¾ cup
l Cornstarch 3 tbsp
METHOD FO PREPARATION:
Step 1: -Whisk together the yolks, sugar, whole milk and cornstarch in a mixing bowl and set aside.
Step 2: - Take a microwave oven safe bowl, add coconut milk, vanilla extract, coconut extract, mix well and select micro mode, set time for 2 minutes and press start to cook.
Step 3: - After the beep, remove the bowl from oven and add the mixture of yolks, milk, sugar, corn starch. Mix well and cook again for 3 minutes. (Stir twice in-between).
Refrigerate until cold, at least for 2 hours and serve.

But today, as he and his ideological allies attempt to erase the historical trauma and triumphs of Black Americans, it's become chillingly clear: this project of erasure is not just political — it's existential. The president's campaign to dismantle the teaching of Black history is no longer covert. Through measures like banning critical race theory, censoring educational curricula, and prohibiting books that centre on enslaved people's experiences, Trump is attempting to rewrite America's historical DNA — bleaching it of its multiracial struggles and resistance. A dangerous revisionism in the classroom Across states like Florida, Texas, and now others emboldened by Trump-aligned governors, educational boards are implementing directives that portray slavery as 'involuntary relocation' and the civil rights movement as an ideological dispute rather than a fight for justice. Even AP African American Studies has come under attack, accused of being 'woke indoctrination.' Scholars and historians have condemned these acts as a form of state-sponsored amnesia. The goal? To promote a version of American history that sanitises white dominance and expunges the enduring legacy of Black resistance is not mere revisionism—it is an assault on historical truth. It flatters whiteness not as fact, but as myth, while rendering invisible the generations who fought, bled, and built the moral conscience of this nation.' Erasing Black history is silencing Black futures Trump's cultural counter-revolution doesn't merely distort the past. It suffocates the intellectual space that Black youth need to understand their identity, heritage, and power. In doing so, it enacts a new form of disenfranchisement: psychological, educational, and political. This is a strategy not unfamiliar in history. 'If you can control a man's thinking,' wrote Carter G. Woodson in his seminal 1933 work The Mis-Education of the Negro, 'you do not have to worry about his actions.' Woodson, the architect of Black History Month, understood that historical erasure is never accidental—it is strategic. When the state systematically strips away stories of Black resistance and resilience, it does more than distort the past; it conditions the future. In place of empowered memory, it cultivates manufactured docility—history weaponised not to educate, but to pacify. We must ask: what happens to a generation deprived of its memory? The TikTok generation must refuse amnesia To Gen Z — who are reshaping activism through hashtags, viral videos, and digital resistance — the erasure of Black history is not just a policy shift; it is a threat to collective identity. Your bodies have marched in protests, your voices have called out injustice, and your creativity has birthed cultural revolutions — from Black Lives Matter to the global resonance of Juneteenth. You inherit not just a history of oppression, but a legacy of defiance — from Harriet Tubman's underground networks to James Baldwin's prophetic pens, from Fred Hampton's revolutionary visions to Beyoncé's unapologetic artistry. Now is the time to weaponise memory. If the state forbids certain books, read them louder. If your classrooms whitewash slavery, repaint it with truth. If they fear your knowledge, make it go viral. Black history is American history Let's be clear: what is under attack is not a niche academic subfield but the very soul of America. The attempt to delete the narrative of Black struggle and contribution is an attack on the constitution's promises, on democracy's foundations, and on the moral conscience of a nation. The United States cannot claim greatness while severing its ties to the history of Black labor, Black thought, and Black dreams. As Nikole Hannah-Jones rightly argued in The 1619 Project, it is from the shackles of slavery that America's founding contradictions are most visible — and from Black resistance that its promises are most vividly pursued. The choice is ours This is not just Trump's war. It is an orchestrated campaign to distort truth, erase historical memory, and undermine the very foundations of justice. And it will be won or lost not only in courtrooms and Congress, but in libraries, classrooms, living rooms, and on TikTok feeds. To young Black Americans: the future belongs to those who remember. British writer Bernardine Evaristo receives accolade for breaking literary boundaries

LONDON — Bernardine Evaristo doesn't like boundaries. For the Booker Prize -winning novelist, rules about genre, grammar or what a working-class biracial woman can achieve are all to be challenged and swept away. Evaristo was announced Wednesday as recipient of the 100,000-pound Women's Prize Outstanding Contribution Award for her 'transformative impact on literature and her unwavering dedication to uplifting under-represented voices." Evaristo, 66, received the prize both for her work to help promote women and writers of color, and for writing that takes in poetry, a memoir and seven novels including the Booker-winning 'Girl, Woman, Other.' 'I just go wherever my imagination takes me,' she said. 'I didn't want to write the kind of novels that would take you on a predictable emotional or moral journey.' Evaristo had already explored autobiographical fiction, historical settings and alternate realities when she won the Booker in 2019 for 'Girl Woman, Other,' a polyphonic novel told from the point of view of a dozen characters, largely Black women, with widely varying ages, experiences and sexualities. She was the first woman of African heritage to be awarded the prize, which was founded in 1969 and has a reputation for transforming writers' careers. When she won, Evaristo was 60 and had been a writer for decades. She says the recognition 'came at the right time for me.' 'Maybe I wouldn't have handled it so well if I was younger,' she told The Associated Press at her London home. 'It changed my career –- in terms of book sales, foreign rights, translation, the way in which I was viewed as a writer. Various other opportunities came my way. And I felt that I had the foundations to handle that.' Evaristo's house on a quiet suburban street is bright and comfortable, with wooden floors, vibrant textiles and a large wooden writing desk by the front window. Large photos of her Nigerian paternal grandparents hang on one wall. Her work often draws on her roots as the London-born child of a Nigerian father and white British mother. Like much of Evaristo's work, 'Girl, Woman, Other' eludes classification. She calls it 'fusion fiction' for its melding of poetry and prose into a novel that relishes the texture and rhythm of language. 'I kind of dispense with the rules of grammar,' she said. 'I think I have 12 full stops in the novel.' If that sounds dauntingly experimental, readers didn't think so. 'Girl, Woman, Other' has sold more than 1 million copies and was chosen as one of Barack Obama's books of the year. Evaristo traces her love of poetry to the church services of her Catholic childhood, where she soaked up the rhythms of the Bible and sermons, 'without realizing I was absorbing poetry.' When she started writing novels, the love of poetry remained, along with a desire to tell stories of the African diaspora. One of her first major successes, 'The Emperor's Babe,' is a verse novel set in Roman Britain. 'Most people think the Black history of Britain only began in the 20th century,' Evaristo said. 'I wanted to write about a Black presence in Roman Britain -– because there was a Black presence in Roman Britain 1,800 years ago.' Another novel, 'Blonde Roots,' is set in an alternative historical timeline in which Africans have enslaved Europeans, and was nominated for a major science-fiction award. 'Mr Loverman,' which centers on a closeted gay 70-something Antiguan Londoner, was an attempt to move beyond cliched images of Britain's postwar Caribbean immigrants. It was recently made into a BBC television series starring Lennie James and Sharon D. Clarke. Her latest award is a one-off accolade marking the 30th anniversary of the annual Women's Prizes for English-language fiction and nonfiction. Women's Prize founder Kate Mosse said Evaristo's 'dazzling skill and imagination, and her courage to take risks and offer readers a pathway into diverse and multifarious worlds over a 40-year career made her the ideal recipient.' Evaristo, who teaches creative writing at Brunel University of London, plans to use the prize money to help other women writers through an as-yet undisclosed project. She has long been involved with projects to level the playing field for under-represented writers, and is especially proud of Complete Works, a mentoring program for poets of color that she ran for a decade. 'I set that up because I initiated research into how many poets of color were getting published in Britain at that time, and it was under 1%' of the total, she said. A decade later, it was 10%. "It really has helped shift the poetry landscape in the U.K.," she said. Evaristo followed 'Girl, Woman, Other' with 'Manifesto,' a memoir that recounts the stark racism of her 1960s London childhood, as well as her lifelong battle for creative expression and freedom. If Evaristo grew up as an outsider, these days she is ensconced in the arts establishment: professor, Booker winner, Officer of the Order of the British Empire, or OBE, and president of the 200-year-old Royal Society of Literature. That milestone -– she's the first person of color and the second woman to head the RSL -– has not been trouble-free. The society has been ruffled by free speech tows and arguments over attempts to bring in younger writers and diversify its ranks -– moves seen by some as watering down the accolade of membership. Evaristo doesn't want to talk about the controversy, but notes that as figurehead president she does not run the society. She says Britain has come a long way since her childhood but 'we have to be vigilant.' 'The country I grew up in is not the country I'm in today,' she said. 'We've made a lot of progress, and I feel that we need to work hard to maintain it, especially in the current political climate where it feels as if the forces are against progress, and proudly so. 'Working towards an anti-racist society is something that we should value, and I hope we do, and that we don't backslide too much.'

Brazil's President Lula signs law to expand affirmative action policies

Brazil's President Luiz Incio Lula da Silva on Tuesday signed a new law to expand the country's affirmative action policies, increasing the quota for government jobs reserved for Blacks from 20 per cent to 30 per cent and adding Indigenous people and descendants of Afro-Brazilian enslaved people as beneficiaries. The changes apply to candidates applying for permanent and public employment positions across Brazil's federal administration, agencies, public foundations, public companies and state-run mixed-capital companies. As approved by Congress, the quota will be revised in 2035. "It is important to allow this country for one day to have a society reflected in its public offices, in the Prosecutors' Office, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the Attorney-General's Office, in the Internal Revenue Service, everywhere," Lula said at the presidential palace in the capital, Brasilia. "We still have few women, few Black people, almost no Indigenous people." Brazil's first law on racial quotas for government jobs was approved in 2014 by then President Dilma Rousseff, and it extended to public administration positions an affirmative action policy that was in place for access to state-run universities. Brazil's government said in a statement that Blacks and mixed-race people held 25 per cent of top government jobs in 2014, a figure that rose to 36 per cent in 2024. "Still, Black people are under-represented in the public service and hold lower-wage positions," the government added. Management and Innovation Minister Esther Dweck said the new law was needed due to a low number of new government jobs being opened for candidates in the last decade, when the previous quota was in place. "We could not reverse the scenario of low representation (for minorities) in the public service," Dweck said in a speech Tuesday. Brazil's government said 55 per cent of the country's population is made up of Black or mixed-race people. It added that more than 70 per cent of Brazilians living below the poverty line are also Black or mixed race, while only 1 per cent of people from those ethnicities are in leadership positions in the private sector.
