England's Amy Jones ascends in ICC Rankings

Dubai [UAE], June 10 (ANI): England's wicketkeeper-batter Amy Jones continued her rise in the recent ICC Women's Rankings update, as per the official website of the ICC.
Jones, who rose three spots to seventh in the ICC Women's ODI Batting Rankings after a sensational hundred in the opening ODI of the three-game series against West Indies, continued her upward rise on the back of another hundred.
Her 129 from 98 in the second ODI against the Maroon Warriors helped her enter the top five places in the Women's ODI Batting Rankings. She now sits in the fourth spot with 689 Rating Points. Laura Wolvaardt, Smriti Mandhana, and Nat Sciver-Brunt occupy the top three spots.
Courtesy of Jones' brilliance, England went on an unbeaten run in the ODI series that followed the T20Is against West Indies, which they also won 3-0.
The experienced Kate Cross was another protagonist in England's win, and finished with three scalps in the series, including an economical 1/15 in the final ODI. She wins eighth place in the ICC Women's ODI Bowling Rankings.
With the upcoming India tour, Jones, Cross and other England players have an opportunity to improve their positions in the Women's Rankings. (ANI)

As Proteas skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bowl first in the ICC World Test Championship Final 2025 against Australia at Lord's, the responsibility of leading the attack with the new ball fell to Kagiso Rabada. And the experienced pacer wasted no time in making an impact on the ultimate stage, as per the official website of ICC. Removing Australia opener Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green in his opening burst, Rabada went on to claim his 17th five-wicket haul in Tests. His spell helped South Africa bundle the defending champions out for 212. Rabada believed the Proteas could've managed to run through the Aussie batting much sooner. "212, we'd take that. We thought we should've had them at 160, but that's just the way the game goes," the pacer told reporters at the end of the day's play at Lord's, as quoted from the official website of ICC. With Australia five wickets down for 146, Beau Webster took command of the first innings with a handy knock of 72. Rabada lavished praise on the all-rounder, who shifted gears after seeing through South Africa's pace battery early on in his innings. Australia's veteran batter Steve Smith heaped praise on South African pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada after his five-wicket haul on Day 1 of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final at Lord's. Rabada ran through the Australian batting line-up with figures of 5/51, helping bowl out the opposition for 212 in the first innings. Smith believes it's Rabada's consistency and competitive spirit that make him a formidable opponent. "I wouldn't say he doesn't move it around. I think he's got good skills. He can shape the ball away; he can nibble it both ways. He's relentless; he's always at you. He's always up for the challenge, he charges in all day and his record speaks for itself, doesn't it? He's a quality bowler and showed that again today," Smith said in the post-day press conference, acknowledging Rabada's impact, as quoted from ICC. Rabada's performance was not just significant in the context of the match, but also historically. With his five-wicket haul, he surpassed South African fast bowling great Allan Donald to become the fourth-highest wicket-taker for South Africa in Test cricket. Rabada now has 332 wickets from 71 Tests, edging past Donald's tally of 330 in 72 matches. His five-wicket haul also earned him a rare spot in the record books.
