Yasir Hussain is not opposed to raising a dozen kids

During an interview with Tabish Hashmi, Yasir Hussain had a thing or two to say about large families, starting with his own experience of being raised with 11 older siblings.
The actor, who recently returned to theatre, began by joking about his father's army of 12 children: "If my father worked in theatre, the audience would be our own."
Confirming that he's the youngest of the 12 siblings, Yasir refuted the common belief that he would have double the amount of nephews and nieces, quipping that not everyone is as ambitious as his father was.
Despite the wisecracks, the Badshah Begum actor doesn't see a problem with a large household. "There are no issues. I, myself, am fond of children. And I've spent a great childhood with my siblings, even though we lived in a one-bathroom home," he revealed.
Yasir jested that in such an environment, one's natural cycles adjust on their own, adding that the body times itself according to whose turn it is to relieve themselves.
He believes that even in current times, it is possible to raise as many as 12 kids if families wish to brave that step. "They can definitely do it. I've seen people who've done it very well," he noted.
The Karachi Se Lahore actor added that having many children doesn't impede each child's upbringing. "It's important to take out time for your kids," he said. "Even if you have two kids, you do make time for them, don't you? It's necessary to do that."
Although he's not opposed to the idea of fathering an abundance of children, Yasir has only one son - Kabir - with wife Iqra Aziz. From Yasir championing time and attention to Iqra discouraging abuse, it is clear that Kabir is being raised in a loving environment and one that prioritises tradition.
In a March interview, the couple shared that they prefer to teach their son Urdu first and foremost, keeping all other languages secondary.
"Once an actor pointed out to me that Kabir speaks in Urdu, so I mentioned that that's the language we speak at home. So they said, 'Teach him English. Don't make this mistake. He will learn Urdu at some point eventually,'" Yasir recalled.
"Urdu is more important; I've seen a lot of people who can't speak it properly. It's important to build that habit, then your child may learn English or Punjabi or any other language later on," he added.

Rosalía opens up on love life after Hunter Schafer romance

Rosalía has spoken candidly about her views on love, making it clear she is not interested in putting herself into labels. The Spanish singer addressed questions about her romantic life following confirmation last year from Euphoria actress Hunter Schafer that the two had shared a romance in 2019. In an interview with Elle published August 14, Rosalía explained her perspective, emphasising personal freedom above all. 'No, I do not pressure myself,' she said. 'I think of freedom. That's what guides me.' Her comments echo the statement Schafer gave to GQ in April 2024, where the actress revealed the pair had been 'once romantically involved' in a five-month relationship. Schafer noted at the time that there had been endless speculation but that she ultimately wanted to put the rumours to rest, saying, 'It's something I'm happy to share. And I think she feels that way too.' Rosalía's love life has often made headlines. After her time with Schafer, she went on to date musician Rauw Alejandro. The pair announced their engagement in 2022 but ended it in 2023 after three years together. Despite the breakup, Rosalía has continued to dominate the global music scene, with her critically acclaimed album Motomami and sold-out tours solidifying her as one of the most influential artists of her generation. Now, her connection with Schafer has resurfaced not only because of their shared history but also because Rosalía is set to make her acting debut in the upcoming season of Euphoria. The HBO hit returns with its star-studded cast, including Zendaya and Jacob Elordi, and Rosalía's addition has already sparked anticipation. Series creator Sam Levinson praised her instincts on set, saying he enjoys letting her experiment with both English and Spanish dialogue. For Rosalía, her refusal to define her romantic life is not a rejection of labels for others but a reflection of her own artistic and personal philosophy. By focusing on freedom and authenticity, she continues to connect with fans in both her music and her new acting role, ensuring her voice resonates well beyond the stage.

'Wednesday' season 2 reaches 50 million Netflix views in five days after part one release

The second season of Netflix's Wednesday has recorded 50 million views within five days of release, making it the second most-viewed English-language TV week in the platform's history, behind only its first season. Part one of season two, consisting of four episodes, premiered on Wednesday, August 6 and reached the milestone by Sunday, August 10. According to Netflix, the series also achieved the highest number of first-week country rankings among English-language TV shows, holding the top position in 91 countries. Additionally, Netflix has since adjusted its measurement methods, now reporting viewership in total hours viewed and converting this figure into views based on runtime. In its launch week, season two recorded 201.6 million hours viewed, which equates to 50 million views. The Jenna Ortega-led series remains Netflix's most popular English-language TV show overall, with a total of 252.1 million views to date. Based on current performance, season two could enter the platform's all-time top 10 most popular shows, where the tenth-ranked title, Stranger Things 3, holds 94.8 million views. During the week of August 4, Wednesday season two was the most-watched Netflix TV title, with season one returning to the top 10 in second place, gaining 8.6 million views.
