KUWAIT CITY, Aprl 20: As part of ongoing efforts to enforce Residency and Labor Laws, the General Department of Residency Affairs Investigations conducted intensive security campaigns across various governorates in Kuwait from April 13 to April 17, 2025. These operations led to the arrest of 411 violators, who have been referred to the appropriate authorities for legal action.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to strictly enforcing the law against all violators, emphasizing that accountability applies to both the offending workers and their employers. This is to ensure public safety and uphold the country's legal regulations.
The Ministry also urges the public to cooperate with security personnel and report any violations, highlighting that adherence to the law is a shared responsibility that helps maintain the security and stability of society.

Two Commerce Ministry employees sentenced to 10 years for bribery, abuse of power
KUWAIT CITY, June 4: The Criminal Court, presided over by Counselor Abdulwahab Al-Maili, sentenced two employees of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry—a supervisor and a transaction coordinator—to 10 years in prison each. In addition, they were fined 400,000 Kuwaiti dinars and dismissed from their positions. The court found them guilty of abusing their authority, accepting bribes to overlook commercial violations, and fabricating false violations. Meanwhile, the court exempted a resident from punishment after he confessed to involvement with the defendants. The Ministry of Interior had earlier announced the arrest of the two ministry employees and their accomplice on charges of exploiting their positions, accepting bribes to ignore commercial violations, and fabricating false ones. According to a press release by the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media, law enforcement received intelligence regarding individuals exploiting their roles to accept bribes. After securing legal approval, the suspects were caught red-handed receiving 50,000 Kuwaiti dinars out of an agreed total bribe of 200,000 dinars. The operation, conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is part of ongoing security efforts to combat corruption and enhance public safety. Authorities emphasized that the suspects have been referred to competent legal bodies for prosecution. Security officials stressed that the law applies equally to all, with no exceptions, and reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing anyone who threatens national security.

Ten Arrested in Kuwait, Large Quantities of Narcotics Seized in Security Raid
KUWAIT CITY, June 2: The Ministry of Interior announced on Monday the detention of ten persons on charges of dealing with narcotics and psychotropic drugs in a chain of well-planned raids. The MoI security information department said in a statement that the suspects were apprehended during security operations in Al-Gurain, Wafra, Andalos, Saad Al-Abdullah City, Khairan, and Sabah Al-Salem districts. The engaged personnel found and confiscated six kilograms of shabu (methamphetamine) materials, three kilograms of hashish, 7000 Lyrica capsules, guns of various calibers, ammunition, and suspicious funds. It has affirmed the determination to pursue the security campaigns against 'dealers in these contaminating substances,' warning that the security forces will act firmly against such dangerous activities.
