Tens of thousands of mosques and mussalas, celebrate Eid prayers across the country.
The following photos were taken in Ain Aouda, a city situated in the suburban area of Rabat.
Eid prayers take place early in the morning of Eid, gathering millions of mosque goers across the country.
The prayer includes two units, beginning with the Takbir, and in each unit, Al-Fatiha and another surah of the Quran are recited.
A series of Takbirs or Allah-u Akbar are recited in the first unit. While in the second unit, a series of Takbirs are recited after the recitation.
Takbir has sounded and echoed across Morocco.
Following the prayers, families gather around the breakfast table, where homemade sweets take center stage.
The sweets are also accompanied by an array of traditional Moroccan pastries like 'msemen,' 'baghrir,' and 'harsha' as well as fragrant mint tea, as the king of Moroccan breakfast tables.
In some Moroccan neighborhoods, neighbors and relatives often exchange plates of sweets as a gesture of goodwill and shared celebration.
Children will wake up in the early morning, not for breakfast and not for a any other purpose than to proudly don the new clothes bought by their parents, specifically for Eid Al Fitr.
They will also wait for their family members to give them money in cash. Throughout the day, the spirit of tradition and family compliment each other, to make Eid Al Fitr one of those special days in any Moroccan's calendar.

Eid al-Adha : Inmates can receive family visits but without meal baskets

On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) announced that, starting the Monday following Eid, inmates in Moroccan penitentiaries will be allowed visits from family, friends, as well as representatives from diplomatic and consular missions for foreign detainees. However, these visits will not include the delivery of food parcels. Additionally, a special meal program will be provided to the inmates during this period, the Delegation stated in a press release on Wednesday. Given the deep religious and social significance of Eid al-Adha in Moroccan society, the celebration will take place within the prisons without performing the sacrificial ritual. This decision respects the royal directive to abstain from carrying out the Eid sacrifice, the statement added.

Moroccan Prisons to Celebrate Eid Al Adha Without Sacrifice, Food Baskets Not Allowed

Rabat – The prison authority in Morocco has announced that prisons across the country will celebrate Eid Al Adha this year without the traditional animal sacrifice. The decision was made in line with King Mohammed VI's directives not to perform the sacrifice this year. The prison authority said in a statement that its facilities across the country will offer inmates a special food program to mark the holiday. In addition, prisoners will be allowed visits from their families starting the Monday after Eid. Foreign prisoners can also receive visits from diplomatic and consular representatives. However, inmates will not be allowed to receive food packages during this period. Morocco will celebrate the religious holiday on Saturday, June 7. But unlike previous Eids, Moroccans will not be performing the traditional animal sacrifice. King Mohammed VI announced the decision in February, in response to a severe six-year drought that has significantly reduced livestock numbers and increased meat prices. The King said that performing the sacrifice under these challenging conditions would cause harm to large segments of the population, particularly those with limited income. In place of the traditional sacrifice, the royal palace will conduct a symbolic act of sacrifice on behalf of the nation. The government has also implemented measures to support the livestock sector, including suspending import duties and VAT on livestock and red meat, and securing agreements to import 100,000 sheep from Australia to stabilize meat prices. Hakimi, LeBlanc Pendant Speaks to Moroccan Hearts and Heritage

Doha – Moroccan football star Achraf Hakimi and renowned jewelry designer Mimia LeBlanc have joined forces to create a distinctive pendant honoring their shared Moroccan heritage. The collaboration and product were officially revealed on May 21. The jewelry piece features a traditional Moroccan door design with the map of Morocco carefully carved inside. This distinctive creation represents more than mere adornment—it stands as a tribute to Moroccan culture, craftsmanship, and natural beauty. 'Conceived with pride, crafted with love, and inspired by Morocco's eternal soul,' LeBlanc described the piece on her Instagram account. The announcement included a promotional video showcasing Morocco's cities, traditions, craftsmanship, and natural landscapes, with Hakimi proudly wearing the necklace throughout. The collaboration represents a powerful fusion of athletic excellence and artistic craftsmanship. It brings together the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) player and the respected jewelry creator in a project deeply rooted in their cultural identity. Hakimi's involvement extended far beyond lending his name to the project. The international right-back participated actively throughout the creative process, from initial sketches to selecting materials. Every element was carefully considered through ongoing dialogue between the athlete and the designer. LeBlanc, known for her meticulous attention to detail, transformed their shared vision into a tangible ornament that balances traditional Moroccan motifs with contemporary design elements. Her craftsmanship brings together the heritage of the past with modern sensibilities. The pendant represents a meaningful symbol of cultural identity rather than a mere fashion accessory. It speaks to Moroccans both at home and abroad, connecting generations through beauty and memory. This collaboration shows a trend where partnerships transcend commercial interests to create something profoundly personal. The Hakimi-LeBlanc jewelry piece demonstrates how luxury and authenticity can coexist, with Morocco serving as a source of creative inspiration. The campaign has electrified audiences worldwide, transforming a simple adornment into a celebration of Moroccan identity and cultural pride. Just days after this jewelry launch, Hakimi cemented his legendary status by helping PSG secure their first-ever Champions League title with a commanding 5-0 victory over Inter Milan on May 31, further elevating his profile as both an athletic and cultural icon.
