('XORTX' or the 'Company') (NASDAQ: XRTX | TSXV: XRTX | Frankfurt: ANU), a late-stage clinical pharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative therapies to treat gout and progressive kidney disease, is pleased to announce the closing of its previously announced non-brokered private placement of units ('Units'), whereby it issued 1,267,123 Units at a price of US$0.73 per Unit for aggregate gross proceeds of US$925,000 pursuant to the listed issuer financing exemption under Part 5A of National Instrument 45-106 – Prospectus Exemptions (the 'Offering').
