Denver Clerk and Recorder adjusts fee for recording documents
DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Clerk and Recorder is adjusting its fee for recording documents, in compliance with new state law.
Starting July 1, customers who file or record a document with the Denver Clerk and Recorder will be charged a flat rate of $43, regardless of page count, according to the agency.

Any document received after June 30 will be subject to the fee increase and rejected if it is not paid for properly.
Appointments are not required to record documents up to 3:30 p.m. each day through the end of June.
The cost to file Uniform Commercial Code filings both electronically and physically will not change, according to the agency. Death records will also be exempt from the filing fee.
The Denver Clerk and Recorder is located in downtown Denver at 201 W. Colfax Ave. Ste 101. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Colorado SNAP benefits to cover up to $60 for qualifying fruits, vegetables
DENVER (KDVR) — Coloradans who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits have the opportunity to be reimbursed up to $60 a month when purchasing qualifying fruits and vegetables, according to a press release from the Colorado Department of Human Services. The Colorado SNAP Produce Bonus program provides an immediate credit for the fruits and vegetables from participating locations to the shopper's EBT card. Since the launch of the program, the redemption rate for the bonus has been more than 99%, according to the release. 'The Colorado SNAP Produce Bonus program helps families stretch their food budget and access fruits and vegetables that they may not have bought without this incentive program,' said Abby McClelland, director of CDHS's Food and Energy Assistance Division, in the press release. 'This is especially important with the increase in grocery prices that we have seen recently.' The program said that it has three easy steps, including: Buy eligible fruits and vegetables at a participating retailer Get a dollar-for-dollar match automatically added to your EBT card to use at any SNAP location. Get up to $60 reimbursed per month Spend your bonus on any SNAP-eligible items at any SNAP-authorized retailer 'Most people that come in know about the program and are stoked and then just keep coming back,' said Emma Kottenstette, founder of Farm Runners, a retailer that sells local produce on the Western Slope. 'Once they find out about the program one time, it's like they don't need any convincing.' More than 30 locations participate in the program across Colorado. Lakewood named ‘climate action leader' for second straight year
DENVER (KDVR) — Lakewood has been named a 'climate action leader' for the second straight year, for its work on 'sustainability, climate change, resiliency and environmental transparency,' according to the city. Lakewood is one of 112 cities globally and 29 in the United States to earn a spot on the 2024 CDP A list. To be on the environmental disclosure system's A list, a city must publicly disclose its efforts through the climate reporting platform CDP-ICLEI Track and meet 'rigorous' criteria, the city said. Here's what locals think 'I am extremely proud that Lakewood is among this prestigious list for the second consecutive year,' Lakewood Mayor Wendi Strom said in a statement. 'It highlights the depth of our commitment to ensuring that sustainability plays a central role in Lakewood's ongoing story.' In order to earn a spot on the A list, the city said it had to have a citywide emissions inventory, a climate risk and vulnerability assessment and a published climate action plan. The city listed recent climate-related projects in Lakewood, including: Assessed 10 climate-related hazards and identified top priorities, including hailstorms, extreme heat, extreme cold, flooding and wildfires. Designing and constructing its first on-site solar installation at the Whitlock Recreation Center. Updated a communitywide inventory and created a municipal GHG emissions inventory, which will 'provide a baseline' for future decarbonization.
