A sleeping driver discovered in a parking spot reserved for police officers in Thunder Bay has been charged with impaired driving.
Thunder Bay Police Service spotted the suspicious vehicle in the police parking lot at their headquarters on Balmoral Street shortly before 2:45 a.m. June 30.
'Officers observed a male asleep in the driver's seat of the vehicle,' police said in a news release Monday.
'Upon speaking to the male, officers observed multiple signs of impairment. The male was arrested and escorted into the police station.'
The 38-year-old man refused to comply with the demands of a drug recognition expert officer. He is now charged with impaired driving and refusing to comply with a demand.
