I Can't Get Over This Striking New Photo of King Charles Standing Alone
Last month, I stumbled upon a fascinating photo of King Charles standing in the rain as he departed the Sandringham estate. The 76-year-old monarch's photo immediately took me back to a similar pic of his son, Prince William, who shared a snap of himself smiling in the rain. Now, just a few weeks later, photographers have captured yet another striking portrait of the monarch.
On Monday, King Charles paid a visit to JCB World Headquarters in Rocester, Staffordshire to mark the 80th anniversary of the construction equipment company. During his appearance, he chatted with employees to learn about their work, and as he explored the factory floor, he was photographed standing alone and looking up.
Arthur Edwards -The king, who donned a gray suit and polka-dot tie for the occasion, maintains a confident posture in the photo, keeping his hands behind his back. He also appears to be deep in thought as he looks off into the distance, and the blurred background draws even more attention to the royal, who's in perfect focus.
The royal family shared footage of the king receiving a warm welcome as he arrived at JCB Factory. The Instagram caption reads, "The King visits @jcbmachines World Headquarters in Rocester as they celebrate 80 years! Founded in 1945, JCB remains a family business, employing 7,500 people across the UK. The King toured the factory floor, meeting apprentices, long-serving employees, and their families."
The caption continues, "His Majesty also met Ken Harrison, aged 100, the last known survivor of the original backhoe production team from 1953. In the Innovation Centre, The King explored JCB's innovative hydrogen-powered machine, developed by a team of 150."
In the comments, one fan responded, "It's good to see King Charles looking so well. God bless you, Your Majesty." Another wrote, "Absolutely incredible to see The King connecting with such a vital piece of British manufacturing history! Meeting Ken Harrison, a 100-year-old legend, is a moment I'm sure everyone there will cherish. What a testament to JCB's enduring legacy and innovation."
I couldn't agree more.

See How the Rivian R2's Advanced Suspension Elevates Your Drive
See How the Rivian R2's Advanced Suspension Elevates Your Drive originally appeared on Autoblog. Expected to become available in early 2026, Rivian's upcoming R2 is a midsize, fully electric SUV that will slot beneath the R1S and R1T in the automaker's lineup and will provide a more rugged alternative to established electric crossovers such as the Tesla Model Y and the Ford Mustang Mach E. As we eagerly await the arrival of Rivian's third-ever model, we can now take a closer look at the R2's innovative suspension system, as shared on Instagram by the brand's founder and CEO, RJ Scaringe. According to Scaringe's Instagram post, the "R2 multi-link rear suspension includes 5 stamped steel links and uses an isolated rear subframe to deliver incredible ride quality and handling." In an automotive first, the Rivian R2's rear suspension resembles a "starfish" in an effort to "reduce unsprung mass to support enhanced ride quality." Judging by the comments on RJ's Instagram post, it seems that people are generally very excited by the innovative suspension system. Perhaps most importantly, the brand CEO's fascination with seemingly small details such as the R2's rear suspension system echoes the automaker's attention to detail, which seems to have resonated with buyers and enthusiasts alike. Featuring two unique battery sizes, the Rivian R2 will reportedly be available with over 300 miles of all-electric range and a 0-60 miles per hour time of under three seconds. Perhaps the most notable feature of the Rivian R2 is its size. Claimed to be a true SUV, rather than a crossover, the modest-yet-ample sizing of the Rivian R2 reminds us of a popular segment of SUVs that, into the late-2000s and early-2010s, saw most of its models morph into softer, less-rugged crossovers, such as the Jeep Cherokee, the Ford Explorer, and the Chevrolet Blazer. Now that boxy and rugged-yet-practical SUVs are regaining popularity, Rivian is set to be ahead of the game by offering a vehicle in a class that seems to have been entirely neglected for far too long, even by more traditional combustion-powered options. While the upcoming Rivian R2 seems like it's set to be one of the most exciting and most usable electric SUVs introduced to date, perhaps the most eagerly anticipated feature is the R2's supposed price tag, which is expected to start around $45,000 USD. That's about the same price as a 2025 Ford Explorer ST-Line, a Toyota Highlander Hybrid, or a Tesla Model Y without the federal EV tax incentive included, despite offering superior interior spaciousness and rugged, off-road-ready chops. We're eagerly awaiting the Rivian R2's imminent arrival in early 2026, and we're excited to see how it stacks up against more established EV SUVs. Reeves set to extend £3 bus fare cap until 2027
Rachel Reeves is set to extend the £3 cap on bus fares until 2027 when she unveils her spending review on Wednesday. As first reported by the Mirror, the Chancellor is understood to be preparing to announce an extension to the cap beyond the end of 2025. Instead, it will continue across England until March 2027 as the Government seeks to ease cost-of-living pressures on the public. The Government has previously said that, without the cap, fares could rise by as much as £12 for a journey between Leeds and Scarborough, or £5.50 for a ticket between Hull and York. A Treasury source said: 'We understand the cost of living is a priority for the British people. That is why we are investing in Britain's renewal to make working people better off.' But the Liberal Democrats criticised the decision not to return to the £2 cap that had been in place between January 2023 and December 2024. The increase in the cap was announced at the budget in October, with the Government arguing the lower rate was not financially sustainable, although some metro mayors decided to fund an extension of the £2 cap in their areas. Lib Dem transport spokesman Paul Kohler said: 'Household budgets are still really feeling the squeeze, so many will be really disappointed to see that the Government is moving to make the bus fare hike permanent. 'This will hit those who rely on public transport to get around to their local high street or to work and school in the pocket. People have been telling them they got this wrong, but Labour clearly isn't listening.'
