A RUF CTR 2 Sport is set to feature at Broad Arrow Auctions' Monterey Jet Center sale in mid-August, Top Gear has reported.
Auctioneers estimate that the retro sports car will go for somewhere between £2.2 million and £2.5 million.
Top Gear's website reads: "The CTR 2 Sport may be from the Nineties, but its spec wouldn't look out of place on a new supercar in 2025.
"We're talking carbon and Kevlar body panels, all-wheel drive, a six-speed manual, carbon ceramic brakes and 580bhp from a twin-turbo 3.6-litre flat-six.
"The 0-62mph sprint takes 3.6 seconds and it'll run on to a top speed of 217mph.
"Yep, it was the fastest production car in the world when it was first born."
The car also comes with an old-school green leather interior and analogue dials.
It comes after a rare 251mph supercar with 24k gold-plated details went on the market for £2.6million.
The 1,500 bhp Koenigsegg Regera has a 5 litre V8 engine with three electronic motors that help produce the stunning power output.
It can rocket from 0-60mph in a blistering 2.8 seconds.
Another supercar inspired by the F-15 fighter also went on the market for a whopping £1.3million.
The Lamborghini supercar can whizz up to 211 mph and has a 6.4-litre V-12 engine.
Its geometric design and aggressive lines echo the US Army fighter jet, which has been in use across the world since 1969.

Ford's US July sales rise over 9% on SUV, pickup demand

Aug 1 (Reuters) - Ford (F.N), opens new tab on Friday reported a 9.3% rise in U.S. auto sales for July compared to the previous year, helped by sustained demand for pickup trucks and SUVs. Aggressive discount programs and its "zero, zero, zero" campaign, offering a $0 down payment, zero percent interest for 48 months and zero payments for the first 90 days on most vehicles, helped the company gain some market share. Ford, whose lineup leans heavily on SUVs and pickup trucks, has also continued to benefit from demand from buyers towards larger vehicles. Sales of its top-selling F-Series were up 6.6% to 73,538 trucks in July. The Detroit automaker notched sales of 189,313 units compared with 173,223 units a year ago.

This error could also occur when using the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature, causing a loss of power brake assist. In response, the EBB module software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge, the NHTSA said. The recall notice was issued on Friday, August 1.
