Perhaps time for PAS members to pass the Milo tin to ‘bail out' their debt-laden HarakahDaily

Focus Malaysia8 hours ago

SUCH is the teaser levelled at PAS mouthpiece HarakahDaily by a pro-Madani keyboard warrior after it was revealed that the publication has yet to settle a RM2.4 mil debt – believed to be backdated to 2017 – owed to its printer NAJ Press Resources (M) Sdn Bhd.
'How many PAS members are there? PAS has over one million members. If each member forks out RM3, the debt can already be paid 🤔' proposed ReeN 🇵🇸 (@ReeNGaston) in reaction to a viral TikTok video by debt collector agency Asia Pro Consultancy Sdn Bhd.
'Can't even settle RM2 mil yet you aspire to become the government?'
Hutang 2 juta lebih tak boleh settle ?
Berapa orang ahli PAS ?
PAS ada 1 juta lebih ahli.
Setiap ahli allocate RM3 seorang, dah boleh bayar hutang 🤔
Hutang 2 juta pun tak boleh settle, ada hati nak jadi kerajaan ?@PASPusat @abdulhadiawang @titm_official @harakahdailyHD pic.twitter.com/nRe1Zh8fLl

The poster went on top back her argument with a statement by PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan during the PAS general assembly on Sept 15 last year that PAS currently has 1.05 million members or an increase of 10,000 headcount from the previous year.
In the original TikTok post, the debt collector acting on behalf of NAJ Press has appealed to the HarakahDaily management, particularly its board of director chaired by PAS vice-president and Bagan Serai MP Datuk Idris Ahmad to resolve the matter cordially.
'Avoiding to discuss settlement professionally with Asia Pro Consultancy will not solve the problem,' lamented the debt collector.
'The agreement letter is not fake. As an MP, you should be very concerned about the problem because debt settlement is highly emphasised in Islamic teaching.'
As what can be viewed from the video, the debt collector on duty can be seen berating the HarakahDaily management which has locked its entrance door to prevent Asia Pro Consultancy representatives from entering its premises.
'The pending settlement has caused hardship to the press owner Haji Azlan who is short of financial resources to even undergo an urgent operation,' fumed the debt collector.
Another Pakatan Harapan (PH) backers wondered why PAS practises double standards when it comes to debt settlement process.
'Why are PAS leaders silent on HarakahDaily's debts when the party would decree as jihad and swiftly pass around Milo tins to settle defamation suits against its leaders … But when labelled as penunggang agama (religious hypocrites) its staunch supporters will jump up the wall. 🤣' wondered Facebooker Elly Yusuf. – June 24, 2025

Iran Ready To Halt Military Actions If Israel Ceases Attacks

GENERAL KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- Iran is prepared to halt military actions and embrace peace, provided that Israel ceases its attacks on the sovereign territories of Palestine and Iran, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said. This was conveyed by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, during a phone conversation with Anwar regarding the latest developments in the conflict between Iran and the Zionist Israeli regime. 'President Masoud confirmed that Iran is ready to stop military actions and welcome peace, on the condition that Israel halts its attacks on the sovereign territories of Palestine and Iran. 'He also appealed for my assistance in conveying this position to other Islamic nations, urging them not to be swayed by biased narratives and to understand the true context of Iran's response,' Anwar said in a post on Facebook today. According to Anwar, Malaysia has firmly reiterated its position in strongly condemning the Israeli attacks on Gaza and Iran, which have claimed the lives of not only civilians but also senior military leaders and Iranian scientists. 'These actions go beyond the bounds of humanity and violate the principles of international laws,' he said. He said Malaysia remains consistent in its belief that violence is not the path forward. However, within the framework of universal justice, the country recognises Iran's right to respond to any form of aggression that violates its sovereignty, Anwar added. 'It is hypocritical for the world to acknowledge Israel's strength while denying Iran its legitimate right to self-defence,' he said.

Iran ready to halt military action if Israel stops attacks, says Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR: Iran is prepared to halt military actions and embrace peace, provided that Israel ceases its attacks on the sovereign territories of Palestine and Iran, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. "Malaysia believes that only through negotiations and diplomacy can a comprehensive solution be achieved to avoid prolonged conflict,' he added. - Bernama

Australia Considers Inclusion Of YouTube In Government's Social Media Ban

FILE PHOTO: A smartphone with a displayed YouTube logo is placed on a computer motherboard in this illustration taken February 23, 2023. REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/Illustration/File Photo ANKARA, June 24 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Australia's eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant has recommended that YouTube be included in the government's social media ban for young people under the age of 16, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported, citing local media on Tuesday. Australia is expected to ban social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and Snapchat for teens, with the final decision to be made by the Communications Minister, local broadcaster SBS News reported. In November last year, Australia became the first country in the world to pass a law banning children from social media. bootstrap slideshow New laws are set to come into force at the end of this year, barring anyone aged 16 or below from using platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and X. YouTube was initially exempted from the legislation, but Grant said the government should not name specific platforms as exclusions. "Our recommendation was that no specific platform be exempted because the relative risks and harms can change at any given moment," Grant said, addressing the online harms faced by children and the upcoming implementation of the teen social media ban. "I think any platform that says they are absolutely safe is absolutely spinning words," she observed while addressing the National Press Club. This recommendation, she added, would not stop teachers from showing educational YouTube content while logged out of the platform. Google, which owns YouTube, said the platform is used in classrooms across Australia, urging the government to allow young Australians to continue to access the platform.
