"Kerry are really struggling in the middle of the field department minus the services of Barry Dan O'Sullivan, and Diarmuid O'Connor.
"They're really struggling, and the word down in Kerry is that Jack Barry is back in the panel. He's home from Australia.
"I'm not so sure if that's true, but that's the rumour down here.
"We've seen John Small for Dublin in from the wilderness, but it can take six, seven weeks to get up to speed.

Seánie O'Shea returned from a knee problem against the Breffni and fired 0-4, which was a huge boost.
The Kingdom may, however, be without midfielder Diarmuid O'Connor after he suffered a recurrence of a shoulder problem. Defender Mike Breen suffered a muscle issue before the game too.
Paul Geaney has a shoulder injury and was not risked in Killarney, while Barry Dan O'Sullivan's campaign is over due to a torn ACL he suffered against Cork in the All-Ireland series.

FAN APPEAL
Last year's Croke Park encounter with Armagh also saw them outnumbered in terms of bums on seats.
So much so that after bagging his second hat-trick of this Championship campaign,
He implored fans: 'I'd like to call for our supporters to get behind us. I'm not sure they realise the impact they can have on us in Croke Park.
"When we hear that Kerry crowd behind you it's worth five and six points to you in a game.'
He also added: 'Often times, it's easier to go to Croke Park, away from home, and express yourself and play without fear and abandon.
"That's what we want. It's a great footballer's pitch, a huge pitch, there is space there and that is why you want to play football.
"I just felt there were times against Cavan when the pressure got to the lads a bit and they didn't express themselves the way they could.'

Joe Brolly takes aim at current GAA pundits and All-Ireland TV coverage

Joe Brolly launched an attack on current GAA pundits as he took aim at RTE and GAA+ over their coverage of this year's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. The All-Ireland winner spoke on the homogenous nature of GAA punditry at present after his departure from RTÉ's suite of pundits in 2019. "One of the features of the modern GAA pundit is that they all dress like boyband members now," he said on the latest episode of his Free State Podcast. "Before the Kerry game, Paddy Andrews, the famous Dublin footballer, Cillian O'Connor from Mayo, and Marc Ó Sé, Kerry, they looked like a Take That tribute band. "They don't make pundits like they used to, everyone agreeing with everybody else and talking about statistics." The conversation then moved on to RTÉ's soccer coverage and pundits, and when asked on their credentials by Free State co-host Dion Fanning, Brolly replied: "Those boys they have now are catatonically boring... personality is outlawed now." He lamented what he deemed to be an obsession with timings degrading the entertainment value of the show, wondering "Can you imagine Muhammad Ali now coming into RTÉ? "A runner would come in and say 'Muhammad Ali's outside here', 'lock the door, Jesus, we're on a schedule here, we have to ask Cora Staunton about this clip of Mayo scoring a free in the second half, and whether or not the free should have been given, there's a very important issue here, whether X could have got a black card.' "This sugary, cold banality, there's no resemblance to the GAA people." Brolly left RTÉ after the 2019 All-Ireland football final after 20 years in the Sunday Game studio. He was cut off on air during a 2021 episode of the Claire Byrne Show where Irish unification was being discussed. He claimed that RTÉ had "censored" him during the broadcast, saying: "I was taken off air on RTE for very mild comments that I made during a discussion about the potential for Irish unity. "I was talking about the importance of honestly assessing the past, honestly assessing for example on that occasion Gregory Campbell of the DUP and that essential honesty that was key to the peace process. "I was actually taken off air and to the best of our knowledge, we checked this, my legal team checked all of this, no one had ever been taken off air."

Wrexham begin first second-tier campaign in 43 years with trip to Southampton

The Welsh club, co-owned by Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia co-creator Rob McElhenney, are back in the second tier for the first time in 43 years after winning three consecutive promotions. Wrexham met Eastleigh on the opening day of the Vanarama National League season in August 2022, but are now set to play grander Hampshire opposition three years on. St Mary's will be the venue for Wrexham's Championship bow as Will Still takes charge of relegated Southampton for the first time in a 12.30pm kick-off. Wrexham's first home game on August 16 will be West Brom, and Sheffield Wednesday will also visit SToK Racecourse before the Red Dragons travel to Millwall ahead of the September international break. September brings home games with QPR and Derby and trips to Norwich and Leicester, while October starts with the so-called 'Hollywood derby' against Birmingham. The two clubs were rivals in League One last season – Birmingham winning the title and Wrexham finishing runners-up – with the Blues also having a celebrity part-owner in NFL quarterback great Tom Brady. Wrexham will entertain Birmingham on October 4 before making the short trip to Stoke two weeks later after the second international break of the season. Frank Lampard's Coventry visit north Wales on November 1 and there are trips to Portsmouth, Ipswich and Preston before Christmas. The first Welsh derby of the season against Swansea is an away fixture on December 20. Wrexham host Sheffield United on Boxing Day and travel to Blackburn on New Year's Day. Leicester at home on January 20 is the pick of the early 2026 fixtures, with away games at QPR and Sheffield Wednesday before the month is out. Millwall, Ipswich and Portsmouth all visit in February and manager Phil Parkinson has a Racecourse reunion with former club Hull on March 10, four days before Swansea head north. Wrexham head to West Brom for a Good Friday clash on April 3, with Southampton their Easter Monday visitors. The return fixture with Birmingham takes places on April 11 and Wrexham finish the season at home to Middlesbrough on May 2. The 46-game Championship season will consist of 33 weekend rounds, nine midweek rounds and four bank holiday rounds. Goalkeeper Mark Howard, part of Wrexham's three promotion-winning squads, called the Southampton opener a 'dream' fixture and backed owners Reynolds and McElhenney to maintain the feelgood factor in the Championship. 'It is the dream. They (Wrexham players) all want to test themselves against the best players and the best opposition,' Howard told Sky Sports. 'No better opportunity than the opening kick-off at 12.30pm against one of the teams that have come down from the Premier League. 'It really has been a Hollywood movie, every part of it over the last three years. The back-to-back-to-back promotions have been incredible and the owners have brought along some very famous faces to the football club. 'To say you've had a laugh in the dressing room with Will Ferrell and Channing Tatum is beyond belief really. 'The owners live and breathe it. They are with you for every win, every loss, and reach out to you after every game. 'They are fully invested in it in what the lads are doing as people and players. You get that sense off them whether they're at a game or watching from America, Canada or wherever.'
