It's been 10 years since Duke won it all and nearly 20 for Florida, but ultimately one team has been head and shoulders above the rest. Jon Scheyer proves he wasn't only one of the best March Madness players for the Blue Devils, but he was the proper heir to Coach K. Duke pulls away in the second half and wins the national title. Duke 80, Florida 71.

There was only one blowout in the Elite Eight, and it came when Cooper Flagg and the Blue Devils annihilated 2-seed Alabama, 85-65. After getting past Houston, Duke will flex its offense muscle, but also the kind of defensive dominance it showed against the Crimson Tide to stifle the Gators. Duke 92, Florida 84.

Florida basketball ranked inside the top five in The Athletic's Top 25 reset rankings The Florida Gators men's basketball team has earned a No. 5 ranking in The Athletic's updated preseason top 25, following the dust settling on the transfer portal and NBA draft decisions. In his "Top 25 Reset", college basketball analyst CJ Moore praised the Gators' size, depth and incoming transfers as key reasons for their rise. Florida's frontcourt, featuring Thomas Haugh, Alex Condon and Rueben Chinyelu, was highlighted as a potential matchup nightmare. Also, the Gators added two major transfers in guards Boogie Fland and Xaivian Lee. Head coach Todd Golden's ability to reload after a national championship run was also commended. Moore emphasized the Gators' up-tempo offensive style and potential for further growth from players like Haugh and Condon as central to Florida's championship hopes. The Gators are the highest-ranked SEC program in the rankings, ahead of teams like the Kentucky Wildcats (No. 9) and Auburn Tigers (No. 10). This all came against one of the toughest schedules among all FBS schools. The Gators once again face a brutal gauntlet of games that will be hard, if not harder than what they battled through last fall.
