Hickman and Todd confirm new BMW team for BSB and roads
It has been confirmed that international road racers Peter Hickman and Davey Todd will form a new BMW-backed team for the British Superbike Championship, North West 200 and Isle of Man TT.Hickman and Todd will jointly act as team co-owners of the 8TEN Racing team, whose name is an amalgamation of the riders' TT start numbers.Hickman is a 14-time TT winner, while Todd broke his duck in terms of wins at the event in 2024 by taking the honours in the Superstock and Senior races.Todd is moving up to compete in the feature British Superbike class in 2025 after securing the second National Superstock title of his career in 2024.Both riders had been scheduled to ride BMW bikes for FHO Racing in the forthcoming season but a change of plan will see them compete under a new banner but with the same German manufacturer.Todd commented: I'm really looking forward to this new chapter of my career, riding and co-owning 8TEN Racing. This structure will be a new dynamic to learn, but I've seen it work across other motorcycle championships like Supercross."I'm excited to be more involved in the dealings of the team, as well as building on the success I had with BMW last year which ended with a National title and TT victories."Hickman said: "The opportunity provided by BMW Motorrad UK to co-own and run 8TEN Racing alongside Davey is an exciting concept, and having run my own team across other classes, the insight and experience I have gained over the last few years should put us in good stead to be competitive."We know the M1000 RR very well which will allow some continuity, we'll be looking to continue our success on the roads and relish the challenge of being competitive in the British Superbike Championship."

Record-breaking motorcyclist says MBE a ‘privilege beyond words'
The professional road racer from Ballymoney, Northern Ireland, was made an MBE for services to motorcycle racing. Part of the famous Dunlop racing dynasty, he established himself as one of the greatest road racers of all time as the most successful rider in the history of the Isle of Man TT, with 32 wins. In a statement, Dunlop said: 'What an honour it is to be named in the King's Birthday Honours list and to receive an MBE. 'I've spent years pushing through every high and low life could throw at me. No matter the challenge, I've always given everything 100% on and off the track. 'To now be recognised in this way is a privilege beyond words. 'From the beginning, I've driven myself to become the best rider I can be, with the goal of becoming the greatest at the TT. At the same time, I've always carried the pride of keeping the Dunlop name at the top of the sport. 'This journey hasn't been easy but the results speak for themselves. I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who's played a part in it: my team, my sponsors, my family, my friends, and the fans who've stood by me through it all. 'Thank you.'

X5 M60e Bridges The Performance Gap When you're a kid, you think you want the best of everything, and certainly the fastest possible car, but in reality, you want something that doesn't draw attention from cops, isn't too expensive to insure, and won't drain a college fund every time you fill it up – something like the BMW X5 M60i. It still has a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 like the maniacal X5 M, but here, it's supported by mild-hybrid technology to improve efficiency. For the G65 X5, which will likely arrive for the 2027 model year, BMW will take things further by fitting a plug and making it a 'real' hybrid. As a result, the name will become X5 M60e, but it comes with some compromises. More Power, More Tech, Fewer Cylinders Since the last time we spotted the next-gen X5, not much has changed, so we'll discuss the looks at the end of this article. What matters is what's happening under the skin, and today's 523-horsepower output won't cut the mustard. Unfortunately, justifying the V8 when trying to make a shift toward cleaner cars is tricky, and BMW Blog reports that the hottest 'regular' X5 will have to do without, switching to a plug-in hybrid six-cylinder like the current M760e limousine.
