Is Darius Rucker's tour canceled? What to know about upcoming dates
Despite having to stop mid-performance in mid-July after saying he was no longer able to sing at a New Jersey concert, country musician Darius Rucker is not canceling his remaining tour dates, a spokesperson for the star confirmed.
In a surprising moment on stage at the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City on Saturday, July 12, Rucker stopped the show live and told fans the show could not go on.
"Y'all, I can't sing anymore," the 59-year-old Hootie and the Blowfish front man turned country singer told the crowd. "This never happened. I physically can't sing."
Now Rucker is ready to retake the stage.
"There is no further interruption in his touring schedule," Rucker's Nashville-based publicist Ebie McFarland told USA TODAY on July 16. "Following vocal rest, Darius has been cleared to resume shows."

The Atlantic City concert marked the third show in a 45-date international tour for Rucker.
"I promise you on everything that I stand for, I will make this up to you," Rucker said after announcing his voice was shot during the performance.

A fan captured the moment Rucker finished singing his hit song "Wagon Wheel," before apologizing to the crowd and exiting the stage.

When is Darius Rucker's next show?
According to Rucker's tour schedule on his website, Rucker's next show is slated for Saturday, July 19, in Hollywood, Florida, at the Seminole Hard Rock & Casino.
The following show is set for Sunday, July 20, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa before Rucker and his band head to other venues across the United States and into the United Kingdom, as well as Canada.
Rucker is set to return to the U.S. for his final show on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida.

At his first Comic-Con, George Lucas previews Lucas Museum of Narrative Art
SAN DIEGO – George Lucas has amassed 50 years of cool stuff, and now he's going to have a place to put it. Even better, you can see it, too. Original sketches, paintings and assorted illustrations from the 'Star Wars' creator's personal collection – plus quite a bit representing that galaxy far, far away − will be on display at the new Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. The building is under construction in Los Angeles' Exposition Park, will open in 2026, and is dedicated to 'cultural fantasy,' Lucas said. The Hollywood icon was joined on Sunday, July 27, at a Comic-Con panel about the museum by 'Star Wars' illustrator and production designer Doug Chiang, Oscar-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, and moderator Queen Latifah. It was Lucas' first time at Comic-Con in his legendary career, earning a standing ovation from the 6,500 faithful in Hall H. Jackson took the crowd on a tour of what will be in the space, from an exhibit on myths through the ages to displays featuring artists like Norman Rockwell, Frank Frazetta, Jack Kirby and R. Crumb. Some of the works in the museum include the first Flash Gordon character drawing from 1934 ('You can see all the smudges,' Latifah noted), original 'Peanuts' sketches from the 1950s and '60s, and an original drawing of the 'Iron Man' No. 1 cover from 1968. 'Star Wars' fans will find plenty to love, too, including actual vehicles like a Naboo starfighter from Lucas' prequel movies and speeder bikes from 'Return of the Jedi.' And here's another fun fact: The museum architecture contains no right angles, only curves. Lucas, 81, has collected 40,000 pieces of art in the past five decades. 'It occurred to me: What am I going to do with it all?' he said. 'I'm not going to sell it. I could never do that. It's not what art is.' He called the museum a "temple to the people's art" and discussed that art is "a personal thing" to us, "not how much it cost or what celebrity did it or whatever. And I don't think it's anything that anybody else can tell you, 'That's art, that's not art.' It doesn't work that way. If you have an emotional connection, then it's art. "I've discovered just from my experience of making movies and things that other people's opinions don't mean much." Del Toro, a board member for the Lucas museum, appreciates "the pieces we have that celebrate freedom from anarchy," he said. "Comics were the first one to punch Nazis before movies." And with art, "we're not eternal. But what we hold and cherish is." The recent fires made del Toro worry a little about his own large collection. "I draw the line at three houses full of stuff," he said with a laugh. "Now that this museum exists, maybe some of it goes there." And the Lucas museum very much reflects the man whose name is on it, said Chiang, whose own work will be on display. "George leads from the heart, and this museum is him. My hope is that it will inspire the next Norman Rockwell or Frank Frazetta."

On Saturday, the second of a two-night sold-out stand at the Garden, Stapleton and his superb band performed an exhaustive set of favorites from his catalog. That included a good portion of songs from his 2015 breakthrough debut album Traveller, which recently marked its 10th anniversary. The current tour comes on the heels of Stapleton, a recipient of multiple awards, being named Male Artist of the Year at the 60th Annual ACM Awards for the fifth time this past May. What makes Stapleton's music so unique and compelling is that while he is country in the traditional sense, the musician also incorporates other influences such as blues, heartland rock, Southern rock and soul, all of which conjures legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton and Otis Redding. Additionally, his hard-bitten yet tender lyrics are quite relatable in the everyman vein of Bruce Springsteen and Bob Seger in addition to paying homage to the outlaw greats such as Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. The diverse nature of Stapleton's country sound was evident at Saturday's show, which kicked off with the rock-soul hybrid 'Bad as I Used to Be,' his latest single that appears on the F1 movie soundtrack. Afterwards, it was one powerful performance after another during the two-hour set that varied between outlaw-styled rockers ('Devil Always Made Think Twice,' 'Hard Livin'' and 'Midnight Train to Memphis') and soulful ballads (among them 'It Takes a Woman' and 'What Am I Gonna Do,' both off his last studio album, 2023's Higher). Stapleton and the band were superb throughout the night, and the guitarist blew everybody away with his instrumental prowess, especially on 'I Was Wrong' and the gut-wrenching 'Cold,' and during his solo spotlight, where it was just him and his six-string on 'Maggie's Song' and 'Barely Alive.' His gritty, soulful vocals sent chills, particularly on the blues ballad 'Sometimes I Cry.' That quality in his distinctive singing made his songs, especially about heartbreak and love gone awry, so resonant and authentic. New York City is not generally known as a hub for country music. But the faithful in their cowboy hats were full force that Saturday night at the Garden (at times, they were singing the words to certain songs), while Stapleton effortlessly had the packed crowd under his spell.
