Mason is a big fan of Rangers, with his favourite players being James Tavernier and Cyriel Dessers, and had the best day.
Ruth said: 'A lot of the players already know him from his trips to Ibrox and they were all fantastic with him. Really taking time to chat and interact.

'Mason was previously a mascot and went onto the pitch with captain James Tavernier so he has an extra special bond with him.'
Mason recently took part in Broxi's Challenge to raise money for Rangers Charity Foundation and is due to be awarded a True Blue hero medal soon.

Raith Rovers give fresh details of potential partnership with Rangers as they insist fans will have final say

Raith Rovers insist fans will have the final say after confirming 'co-operation' discussions have taken place with Rangers. The Stark's Park side have been linked with a tie-in with the Ibrox outfit under new rules encouraging clubs to enter into partnerships with teams in different divisions. The initiative, for players under the age of 21 who qualify for Scotland, is designed to expose more youngsters to first-team football through flexible loans. However, the Kirkcaldy outfit have confessed a collaboration could also involve players who fall outside the terms of the 'co-operation'. Director Ruaridh Kilgour says Raith recognise some supporters may not agree with such a formal agreement, with some fearing Barry Robson's side could lose out as a 'feeder team' for a Premiership club. However, with talks having stalled following Rangers' takeover, he has reassured fans they will be consulted if there are any developments. 'We first heard about this [co-operation system] probably at the tail end of last year,' he explained. 'And then it's become a bit more popular in conversation in the last two months as clubs are starting to now look at who they could potentially partner with. 'If I'm being honest it's not kind of one of [technical director] John Potter's priorities right now. There's a lot of other things going on, like just basically building a squad through the transfer window. 'But, completely out of the blue, Rangers contacted John and asked him to go for a meeting at Murray Park with Nils Koppen, the then technical director. 'They said that they'd pinpointed Raith Rovers as someone they would like to have a partnership with to develop their young players. 'They then came to Stark's Park the week after to have a look around and see what the facilities are like, which again they were really impressed with. 'The way it was left was that we asked them to come up with a proposal of what this could look like. 'They saw this as something where they could potentially send us other players. So players who are maybe a bit older than 21 and also players who weren't Scottish. 'It was left with Rangers to draw up a proposal.' Raith are awaiting a formal response and Koppen has since left his role following Rangers' takeover. In an interview with Raith TV, Kilgour added: 'The way we will then approach that is decided on three factors. 'Number one will be a football factor where Barry [Robson] and John would make a decision based purely on the playing side of it. 'We as a board would make a financial decision on it about how this can help us with our budget, in terms of what the cost would be to bring in these players – or maybe they would be free, who knows. 'And then finally – and most importantly – there'd be a kind of brand perspective where we would put it to supporters. 'Because this is one of those decisions where we feel supporters should be consulted. And the reason for that is we know that some supporters will not like the potential to be partnered with other clubs. 'So we would present all the facts, we'd present the opinion of Barry, we'd present the opinion of us as a board and we would let the supporters make the final decision.'

Rangers coach Issame Charai leaves club after five months

Rangers coach Issame Charai has left the club after five months in the backroom staff. Charai joined the Ibrox side in January to assist former boss Philippe Clement and remained on the coaching staff throughout Barry Ferguson's interim spell. He was previously coach at French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg and has also worked at Al-faisaly, Beerschot, Sint-Truidense and OH Leuvens. Charai also managed Morocco's Under-23 side to the Africa Cup of Nations title. After Russell Martin's appointment as manager, Rangers say it has been mutually agreed for Charai to leave the club. Charai told the club's website: 'As I leave Rangers, I want to thank everyone at the club for their support during my time here. 'This is a really special club, and as it enters a new era, I want to wish everyone associated with the club the very best for what comes next. 'Above all, I want to thank the Rangers supporters for their amazing backing across the period. We had some high moments and some low moments, but their support was the constant. It is something I will always remember and be forever grateful for.' Rangers CEO Patrick Stewart commented: 'I want to place on record the sincere thanks of both the club and I to Issame for his work over the past six months. 'Through the managerial transition in February and beyond, he handled himself superbly and was a real asset to Barry and his staff during their period in charge of the team. 'As the men's first-team moves forth into this new era under Russell, it has been agreed between the club and Issame for him to move on. 'For whatever comes next for him, I want to wish him the very best of luck. He will always be welcome back at Ibrox.' Odsonne Edouard to Celtic transfer return given thumbs up but one major stumbling block cited

French Eddy has been deemed surplus to requirements at FA Cup-winning Crystal Palace Scott Allan insists Celtic shouldn't think twice if an opportunity arises to re-sign Odsonne Edouard. Brendan Rodgers has already brought returning heroes Kieran Tierney and Jota back to Parkhead after stints elsewhere. ‌ Edouard, 27, flopped on loan at Leicester City and has no future at Crystal Palace as he enters the final year of his deal. ‌ The former PSG striker - who swapped Celtic Park for Selhurst Park in a £14million transfer four years ago - was prolific in Glasgow. Rodgers even labelled the Frenchman as one of the best young players he had worked with after shelling out a then-club record £9m to turn his season-long loan into a permanent deal in 2018. And when asked if he should be on Celtic's radar this summer, Allan told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: "I would, yeah. Fantastic player. It's obviously a position that Celtic will be looking to add to. "I think we might see Daizen Maeda go back out to that wide area, where he was so effective in terms of his pressing and getting up and down the pitch. "He'll be looking to add to his goal tally come next season. I think there's no question that it's an area of the park where Celtic need to strengthen." ‌ A potential stumbling block could be Edouard's lucrative salary at the Eagles, something Allan believes could be a deal breaker. The ex-Hoops midfielder said: "I think the problem with the boys that are playing in the Premier League is that there's now the chance to go to the Saudi League where they can earn ridiculous amounts of money. "The Kieran Tierney one is completely different because he's a huge Celtic fan and he's been dying to get back home and probably feels like he's got unfinished business at Celtic. ‌ "So it'll be interesting but I do feel that Celtic will be looking to find the next Odsonne Edouard where they can get a tune from them and then make money from them."
