Dino Morea seeks THIS after appearing before EOW for questioning in Rs 65 crore Mithi River scam
Bollywood actor Dino Morea has reportedly applied for anticipatory bail shortly after being questioned by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police regarding the Mithi River case. The actor has been accused of being involved in an alleged scam of Rs 65 crore, funds that were allocated for the cleanup of the Mithi River in Maharashtra. Following the interrogation, Morea is now seeking legal protection from potential arrest.
According to a report by News18, Bollywood actor Dino Morea has submitted a petition for anticipatory bail just a day after being questioned by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police. The actor has been accused of being involved in a Rs 65 crore scam related to funds allocated for the cleaning of the Mithi River, a crucial waterway for Mumbai's flood control infrastructure.
The actor also appeared at the EOW office on May 28, 2025, for a second round of questioning. Check out the video here:
For those unfamiliar with the case, the actor was summoned for questioning after a series of suspicious phone conversations reportedly emerged involving him, his brother Santino Morea, and Ketan Kadam.
According to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Kadam and Jay Joshi allegedly overcharged the civic body for machinery purchased from Matprop Technical Services Pvt. Ltd., a Kochi-based company, billing well above the actual cost.
The scam surfaced after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) alleged that silt and debris were left uncleared in multiple locations. They further claimed that inflated charges were billed for the desilting work, and no formal audit of the project had been conducted.
Currently, officials are conducting an in-depth review of the phone conversations to assess their significance and relevance. According to The Free Press Journal, authorities are working to determine whether the discussions point to any direct involvement or awareness of the financial discrepancies.
On the work front, actor Dino Morea recently appeared in the Netflix original web series The Royals, starring Bhumi Pednekar and Ishaan Khatter in the lead roles.
Apart from this, his upcoming projects include Housefull 5, directed by Tarun Mansukhani. The film will feature a stellar cast including. Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangda Singh, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, and Nikitin Dheer.

11 Dead, 20 Injured in Bengaluru Stadium Stampede During RCB Victory Celebrations
Bengaluru: A tragic stampede outside Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium claimed the lives of at least 11 people and left over 20 injured on Wednesday as thousands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans gathered to celebrate the team's maiden IPL title. According to initial reports, chaos erupted when the stadium crew kept the outer gates shut despite mounting crowds outside. The gates were reportedly opened at the last moment, triggering a surge as over 600 fans rushed into the outer precincts. The resulting panic led to a stampede in which six men and four women lost their lives. The crowd had begun assembling since early morning, hoping to catch a glimpse of the winning team arriving with the IPL trophy. Roads around the stadium and key areas in the Central Business District were blocked as fans converged from across the city, many arriving by metro and on foot. The RCB team was earlier felicitated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar at Vidhana Soudha. The team was scheduled to make an appearance at the stadium later in the day. According to state BJP president B Y Vijayendra, this was a failure of the government, 'we had told the government not to hold such a large event without proper planning. But the government was adamant on holding it on Wednesday just a day after the RCB team won the championship." According to a report, there were only 100 policemen in an area where over 50,000 people had gathered, and police force was outnumbered drastically. The road from Raj Bhavan, Ambedkar Veedhi, Queens Road, MG Road, GPO, Cubbon Park KR circle, The approach to Anil Kumble circle from Kasturba road, Kamraj road, St Marks road, cubbon road were completely blocked with RCB fans. According to an estimation, over 2 lakh- 3 lakh people had tried to reach the Chinnaswamy injured in the stampede were rushed to Bowring Hospital, including several minors and elderly fans. Authorities are probing the incident, and questions are being raised about crowd management and security preparedness. Addressing a press conference Chief minister S Siddramiah has announced a compensation of Rs. 10 each to all the persons who have died and free treatment to people who have injured at Bowring hospital as well as the private faciliteis. He said thankfully nobody among the injured are critical. 'We are shocked that this incident has happened at a time when the city must be celebrating, but the crowd participation was too much in number while the Chinnaswamy stadium had space limited to 35,000 people. I have also ordered an inquiry headed by a magistrate level official into the incident. We will bring those people responsible for this tragedy to the book. The CM explaining the conditions that prevailed at the Chinnaswamy stadium said 'The gates were smaller and old and the facility could not handle 2-3 lakh people surging at it was totally unexpected. I have ordered the Bengaluru Urban Deputy commissioner to give a report to him followed by the magisterial enquiry in next fifteen days' The CM squarely blamed the Karnataka State Cricket Association for wrongly assessing the gravity of the situation. 'The KSCA functionaries had requested to hold the event today (Wednesday) for their own reasons, even KSCA might not have foreseen such a crowd surge' The CM said. 'This was not a government event but we obliged the KSCA's request. We had acted only as a facilitator with security and other law support' he added.

Indore couple missing in Meghalaya: Man was murdered, wife still untraced
GUWAHATI: Meghalaya Police on Wednesday confirmed that an Indore-based tourist, whose body was found in a deep gorge below the Weisawdong parking lot at Riat Arliang in Sohra, East Khasi Hills, was murdered. A machete, suspected to have been used in the murder, was recovered beside the body of Raja Raghuvanshi. A raincoat, believed to be that of his missing wife Sonam, was also recovered from a few kilometres away from where his body was recovered. Speaking to the presspersons, East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem said the police need more evidence to crack the case. A murder case was registered and a special investigation team was formed to probe the incident. 'It is a new 'dao' (machete) that we recovered. We suspect that it was used in the murder. There is no doubt that it is murder, but we have to find out the motive behind it. It could be robbery, hatred, vendetta or any other issue. We need more evidence. It is very difficult to jump to any conclusion at this moment,' the SP said. Vivek further said that Raja was thrown into a deep gorge, but the police were not sure if it was done before or after his death. "The post-mortem report will reveal everything,' he said. The newlywed couple went missing on May 23 after they had set out for Sohra (Cherrapunjee) in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills on a rented two-wheeler. The decomposed body of Raja was spotted by a police drone after eight days of intensive efforts. The body was identified by relatives through a distinctive tattoo on the deceased's right hand that read 'Raja.' Items recovered from the spot included a woman's white shirt, a strip of Pentra 40, a piece of an LCD screen of a mobile phone, and a smartwatch found on the deceased's wrist. The police said the search to find Sonam is underway.
