Irish Grand National full race card and tips - list of runners at Fairyhouse
It's Irish Grand National day at Fairyhouse, with eight races taking place.
Willie Mullins enjoyed a great day on both sides of the Irish Sea on Sunday, with Absurde leading home a 1-2 for the trainer in the Sussex Champion Hurdle at Plumpton to earn him some big prize money in his battle with Dan Skelton to be crowned champion trainer in the UK.
He also tasted victory in both Grade 1 contests at Fairyhouse as Spindleberry won the WillowWarm Gold Cup under Danny Mullins before Paul Townend steered Aurora Vega to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Honeysuckle Mares Novice Hurdle.
The Closutton maestro has two runners in Easter Monday's feature race in Quai De Bourbon and Sa Majeste. The previous of those looks to have a great chance in a race in which novices have a good record for Michael O'Leary's Gigginstown House Stud.
Another powerful owner in JP McManus also has a strong team as you'd expect with both himself and Gigginstown running four horses each.
Any Second Now was second behind Intense Raffles in the race last year and even though he's now 13, he should go very close for Ted Walsh, with McManus' retained jockey Mark Walsh partnering him.
Meanwhile, Johnnywho is another who could run a big race in the famous green and gold silks after finishing a neck second to Daily Present in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham.
Here's a full list of the runners and riders for all eight races at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday, as well as a tip for each contest:

Fashion's future stars: Student designers create playful, sustainable collections
What does a cake or ice-cream sweater look like? How do knitting and baking connect? The answer lies in a playful collection called The Proof is in the Pudding by Joey Fanciulli, one of the 15 NCAD fashion students who will graduate this year. Fanciulli combined a love of baking and memories of the decorative elements of making desserts with his mother and grandmother to 'bake' a collection. Others in this very talented student group bring their own individuality and preoccupations to their work, often informed by family circumstances or heritage. Greta Giardini, who is also a trapeze artist, rendered her collection of wired red shapes based on blood, calling it a dance between blood and motion, 'blurring the lines between fashion, performance and emotional artistic expression'. Tadhg James Geraghty has used his struggles with gender identity for a collection whose warped silhouettes and deliberately incorrect pattern placement are designed to express warring emotions through cloth. Struggles with identity are also to the fore for Ulviye Jarral, whose multicultural background is expressed in a striking collection of shirting used in dramatic ways. A bell sleeve jacket made entirely in raffia was a standout item in Elspeth Moloney's collection, paying homage to the women in her life, which features handwork traditionally associated with women, such as crochet, embroidery, smocking and tulle. Family references were also evident in Juliet Webster's work honouring her west of Ireland ancestry, and in that of Clodagh Leavy who was inspired by her grandmother, the artist Anna Marie Leavy. Leavy has just won the River Island bursary of €3,500 and a three month internship at company's design studio in London. READ MORE Elsewhere, dramatic evening wear and veiling based on the legend of Hag's Head characterised the collection of Clare native Michael McInerney, while Phoebe Halwax deftly combined lingerie with sportswear. D Connor Petrin's collection focused on the elegance of dressage, and others on concepts that ranged from contraception to Chinese whispers. Notable was the use of boning, leatherwork, corsetry and voluminous silhouettes. Joey Fanciulli: The Proof is in the Pudding Tadhg James Geraghty: Gender Trouble Ulviye Jarral: 'A striking collection of shirting used in dramatic ways' Clodagh Leavy was inspired by her grandmother, the artist Anna Marie Leavy This group stood out in their diverse conceptual and storytelling ideas, but also in their craftsmanship expressed in so many ways. The core of the Fashion Design programme at NCAD is rooted in Ireland's textile and craft legacies, encouraged by tutors Natalie B Coleman, Linda Byrne and head of department Angela O'Kelly. Emer Glendon (LSAD): Tidebound In LSAD in Limerick, 36 fashion students will graduate in June from the new BA course, whose joint programme leaders are Alan Kelly and Linda Quinn. This will be the first graduating year under this new programme and the students will present their collections under four 'pathways' – Collection Design, Applied Textiles, Technology and Sustainability. [ Five fashionable women on their failsafe outfits for summer Opens in new window ] The students responded to the pathways in various ways in their work. Erin Urquhart used deadstock yarn for a collection called The Red Thread, a tribute to her mother. Erin Urquhart: The Red Thread Peter Ronan's six looks drew from Paleolithic cave art with an emphasis on surface detail. Both Emer Glendon's digitally and physically produced Tidebound, and Roisin Scales's My Native Shores, looked to home – to hard-wearing fishermen's clothes and ropes in the case of Glendon, and in Scales's collection, hand-knitted cardigans made from linen and Irish wool emphasised zero waste and sustainability, offering alternatives to a fast fashion world. Navan victor Carmers heading for Queen's Vase
Paddy Twomey's Carmers continued to impress when booking his Queen's Vase ticket with victory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Yeats Stakes at Navan. The Wootton Bassett colt won on debut just over a week ago, taking a Ballinrobe maiden by a length and a quarter with the rest of the field well strung out behind him and the runner-up. He started as the 6-4 favourite under Billy Lee when stepping up to Listed level on his second start, tackling the same one-mile-five-furlong trip in a field of seven. Again the bay showed his class, racing prominently throughout and easily shaking off all challengers to secure a three-length victory from Adrian Murray's What's Your Game. Twomey said: "I was very happy with the way he did it in Ballinrobe. He's a horse that just does what he has to do, hence the headgear (blinkers). "I thought he would run a good race (in Ballinrobe) and I thought he would finish the race well. I thought he would be in the (first) three. He surprised me maybe just how well he won at the line, he won comfortably and Donagh (O'Connor) said he had to go down the back straight to pull him up. "He came home, licked the pot, rode out this week, didn't care and I said to Billy 'I'm going to put him in the Yeats and see what happens'. As the week went on, it became clear that he was ready to go. "We were keen today to get a lead, we knew we'd stay and ordinarily we might have jumped and made it, but he's a horse that I don't think would like to be in front too long. "When he went to the front I was a little bit concerned but, to be fair to him, he picked up and rallied. He's keeping plenty for himself, I'd say there's plenty in him. "He has ability but he is just like the trainer – he does what he has to do! "I said it to the owner there, that race (Queen's Vase) in Royal Ascot is probably the right race for him. He's a stayer and he has enough experience to go to a race like that. "I was thrilled when Fiona (Carmichael, owner) asked us to train the first for her a couple of years ago and she kindly sent me on this horse. She has been very patient with me. He trained very well all last year without being asked any question. He has trained well this spring and is two for two in eight days." Earlier on the card there were two notable winners for Aidan O'Brien, firstly in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden over six furlongs. Gstaad, a half-brother to Vandeek, was the horse who came home in front, striking by three-quarters of a length on debut to find himself entered into the Coventry Stakes market at 10-1 with Paddy Power. O'Brien's other winner, and another horse throwing his hat in the ring for Royal Ascot, was the €2.2million purchase Seattle. Winner of the five-furlong Navan Racecourse Maiden by a length and a quarter, the colt is now a 25-1 chance for the Commonwealth Cup with both Paddy Power and Betfair.

Ladies Football Killavullen Ladies Football Club were delighted to hear the news that member Zoe Boyle will receive a bursary to attend the Gaeltacht this coming summer – the second year in a row when Killavullen LGFC was selected. GAA club news Draw vs Ballinora - Killavullen and Ballinora swerved up a good tough, uncompromising game of hurling, last Sunday in Ballymah, the second field of this club, on the outskirts of Cork city. It is the second field in name only as the conditions were superb, in a complex featuring ample parking, two pitches and a walkway all around the grounds. Both teams will fell that the two points could have been gleamed for various reasons, but a draw was the outcome. Jamie Magner opened the scoring for us, in the first minute, and Colm O Mahony added a second from open play. Killavullen were playing with the wind advantage on this elevated ground, but Ballinora equalised with two free's in the 5th and 8th minute to draw level. We lost Michael Cagney to a hamstring issue shortly thereafter, and Darragh O Grady was introduced. Ballinora took the lead with the scoring of another free from the sharp shooter , Alan O Shea before Owen Magner raced onto a breaking ball and fired it over the cross bar to draw us level., and we retook the lead with a fine point, quickly executed in a crowded play situation by Darragh. Jamie pushed us further ahead from a converted 65 metre shot, after their goal keeper turned aside a decent goal bound shot from Owen Magner. Ballinora responded with a point from play before Owen pushed out lead back out to two points, in the 20th minute. Both centre backs, Liam Cronin for us, and Conor Quirke for Ballinora were very influential in the game and Ballinora scored next to leave only a point between the teams. We had several chances in and around their goals, when Colm Looney and Colm O Mahony fetched good possessions from the air, but got crowded out in the act of shooting. Jamie scored from open play, but Ballinora got that point back from a free, and we thought that Colm Looney deserved a free and a penalty when he was fouled and had to resort to kick the ball goalwards when his hurley was held. That kicked effort deflected out for a 65 Metre shot, which Jamie converted. Ballinora got the last point in the opening half from play, to leave the score at the interval 0-08 to 0-07 in our favour but that was surely not effort with the breeze to favour our hosts in the second period. We had seven wides in that opening half. Ballinora drew level shortly after the restart, but then lost a player to straight red card that was spotted by the referee. Jamie put us level again from a free but Ballinora equalized from a free of their own, and took the lead in a vert tight game, from another free after 15 minutes, of dogged but determined play from both sides, this was from a situation when our puck out went askew, and a fould was conceded needlessly. Ballinora went further ahead with a nopther point, but we got a live line when Darragh O Grady scored in the 52nd minute. Scores were hard earned and scarce in this half. Ballinora got another point before Darragh scored his third point of an impressive game for him, in the 55th minute. Jamie added another free to draw us level, and Owen Magner capped another fine game for himself with a point, before Eoin Birchill though he had sealed the win for us, in the 60th minute of the game. Still Ballinora fought back and got a point to reduce the arrears to 1 point in the 32nd minute, before Brian Cotter scored a long range point for us, in the 34th minute of the half. Ballinora forced a free when time was almost up, but in the next play, Killavullen sent a long range free over the sideline to eat up some time, but were not set up for the quick side cut that Ballinora took, and from that play, they forced the equalizer on the 8th minute of additional time. Game over on the restart, and the teams shared the spoils on 0-15 each. Division 4 hurling - Killavullen powered their way to the summit of the Avondhu Division 4 hurling league with a strong second half display against Buttevant, played in Buttevant earlier today, on a pitch that you could admire all day long. Kian Lane opened the scoring for us, with a point, but we were rocked back on our haunches soon afterwards when Buttevant scored a goal, with their opening attack. They tacked on another point before Sean Palmer added a point for us, and then Buttevant added another point from a free. Joe Cagney, Sean's partner in crime in midfield, scored a delightful point for us, from out on the wing but Buttevant, with the aid of the breeze, were a goal in front again, when they scored the next point. Sean Woulfe scored a long-range point from a free, that he had won himself before Colm Hannon finished to the net emphatically after a great run through the middle by Sean Palmer, drew the man and isolated Colm. Colm then added a smart point and the new make-shift full forward in Cian O Connor scored a point and then Sean Palmer again to have Killavullen in the lead by 1-07 to 1-03 after 15 minutes. Conor O Brien was very effective for Buttevant as well as Kyle Bowles in their inside forward line, and Buttevant got two points back from those sources. Sean Palmer was buzzing a round the field though, and Joe Cagney, gathered a great pass from Barry Cotter and when Joe delayed his pass until Sean ran into the channel, a great team goal resulted Again Buttevant replied with two more scores, the later a free before Mike Walsh scored a fine point, and Colm Hannon forced a great save from the Buttevant net stopper after he, Colm was found in space by a dinky cross field pass from Cian. Sean Woulfe, by two and Colm Hannon added further points to our tally to leave the score at the break 2-11 to 1-07 in our favour. On the restart, Sean Woulfe finished right into the corner from a searing, racking pass from Seamus O Mahony who at times, was very clever in our centre back berth, with his general pass and especially the distribution. Mike Walsh added another point before Kyle Bowles got one back for Buttevant. Colm Hannon scored another goal after a clever pass from Padraig Cronin to Ian O Mahony and the pass from Ian to his better place colleague found Colm in way too much space, and he capitalised. That was the cue for a raft of Killavullen changes from there to the end of the game, and it was refreshing to have both Kevin and Seamus Fox back amongst us, after several years in Australia. Better still that they showed up competitive, fit, and eager, and with places to be won on the Junior A team, bringing on substitutes into this Division 4 team, does not weaken it, one bit. Competition for places is that keen. Buttevant stayed in the game with another point, before Sean Palmer and Sean Woulfe added to their haul with more scores. Buttevant got another point before Joe Cagney got the next point, and Darragh in our goals brought off a good save. Mike Walsh, and the birthday boy, Niall Feaheny scored two goals with accomplished finishes to put a gloss on the scoreline. Buttevant added another goal, before Seamus Fox found the net, that he had threatened to do, immediately after his introduction, to bring the final score of the game to 7-15 to 2-10. The best aspect about this game was the confidence in the Killavullen players to play intricate passes around the field, confident of where the space was, and the close control of the Killavullen players, that allowed them time to control the ball, and effect good decisions. A nice overall balanced team, that is coming along nice and great to get some injured players back into the mix again, as well as the returning emigrants.
