Pedestrian dead after crash on Barker Road in Pittsfield
Pittsfield event commemorates 250 years since Fort Ticonderoga plan
The Pittsfield Police Department states that on Monday at 2:38 p.m., officers and fire crews were sent to the area of 444 Barker Road for a report that a motor vehicle struck a pedestrian. A 2009 Lincoln Town Car, driven by 85-year-old Ricco Dus of Pittsfield, was heading north on Barker Road when he struck a pedestrian that was also walking north.
The pedestrian, 62-year-old Shawn Ouillette of Pittsfield, was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where he died due to his injures.
Barker Road was closed from South Mountain Road to Tamarack Road for two hours while an investigation took place. If anyone witnessed the crash or has any information, call 413-448-9700.

Springfield shooting leaves man injured
SPRINGFIELD — A man was injured in a Forest Park neighborhood shooting Tuesday evening. The shooting took place at about 6:20 p.m. near 100 Kensington Avenue. When police responded to a ShotSpotter activation, they discovered the wounded victim, said Ryan Walsh, police spokesman. He was brought to Baystate Medical Center by ambulance. Springfield police investigating homicide in North End
SPRINGFIELD – A man was shot and killed in the North End section of the city late Saturday night. Police responding to a report of a gunshot victim on Main Street discovered the wounded man. He was brought to Baystate Medical Center by ambulance and later died from his injuries, said Ryan Walsh, a police spokesman. The shooting took place at about 11:20 p.m. near 2700 Main St. between the intersections of Huntington and Sheldon streets, he said. The crime is being investigated by the department's Homicide Unit under the direction of Capt. Trent Duda, Walsh said. Springfield pedestrian dies after she was hit by white Acura sedan that fled scene
SPRINGFIELD — Police are searching for the car that struck and killed a pedestrian on Bowles Street in Springfield on Monday morning. At around 10:20 a.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 100-block area of Bowles Street, near the Rebecca M. Johnson Elementary School in the McKnight neighborhood. The woman was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where she later died, according to Ryan Walsh, public information officer for the Springfield Police Department. The police had not released the victim's name by Monday afternoon. More details about the crash are not yet known. In a post on X, Walsh said police were looking for a white Acura.
