Hen do guests walk out after being shoved in restaurant corner away from the main crowd - as bride's camp are branded 'mean girls'
The drama was captured in a six-second video posted by UK-based TikTok user @mellyal, which shows her and three other guests sitting apart from the main party.
The caption reads: 'POV: You get invited to a hen do only to be sat on the other side of the restaurant in the corner.'
The clip has already garnered hundreds of thousands of likes and sparked a fierce debate in the comments, many of which apparently came from the bride herself, her friends and family, defending the decision to seat the guests on a separate table. They say it was because there was not space for the whole group.
However, most of those comments have since been deleted, with Melly alleging that some were so 'diabolical' they violated TikTok's community standards.
Viewers were quick to voice their disbelief and outrage at the reception the women claimed she received at the event - alleging that other guests didn't acknowledge her and had their backs to the corner.
'No but this is actually so bad! Why were you invited to be put in a corner?' asked one commenter.
Another wrote: 'The absolute attitude, cockiness and passive aggressiveness from whoever [the bride] is tells me you had a lucky escape leaving! It's giving childish mean girl vibes and was definitely deliberate.'
This TikToker shared a viral six-second video showing she and three other guests sitting in an isolated corner table at a hen do
Speculation soon emerged with some asking whether the women had been invited not for their company, but for their contribution to the bill.
'Girl you were invited to spread the cost lmao had this happen to me too,' one TikTok user claimed, while another echoed: 'Yeah you were invited to bring the cost down…'
A third added: 'You guys were invited as a "rent a crowd". Table fillers to make her look super popular.
'She and the organiser should have gone out of their way to welcome you if they wanted you there… they didn't, they just wanted the numbers.'
The bride had defended the decision in now-deleted responses, with her camp claiming there simply wasn't enough space to seat all 33 guests at one table.
But that excuse didn't sit well with viewers, one of whom replied: 'Their comments about not being able to accommodate 33 people… why book it then?'
After the original video exploded online, Melly posted a follow-up explaining the context behind her post, and why she apparently eventually left the event.
'I only know this bride because she's a colleague of mine,' she said. 'I've only known her for about three months, I don't know anything about her family, her friends, I've never met any of the people who attended in my entire life.'
Seated a distance away from the main table, the group apparently walked out and left the event
Later, Melly claimed she had received threats and anonymous calls telling her to take the video down
She went on to explain that the entire event had been booked weeks in advance as a 'surprise hen-do', and that it was 'definitely' pre-planned for her group to sit in the corner.
'To all the family and friends commenting "this was just how it was" - fair enough,' she said.
'But I saw the seating plan and it was arranged for us to be in the corner and there was definitely space.'
She continued: 'If there was no space, at least have the people who don't know anyone be involved because it's very, very awkward, it's an awkward situation to be put in.'
The apparent lack of warmth from the main group only made things worse, with Melly saying that nobody made any attempt at friendly conversation.
She said that neither she nor her companions were acknowledged by the main table and received, at best, a strained smile and, at worst, an eye-roll from a fellow guest as she took her seat.
Initially, she says she shared the clip for fun and had no idea it would gain such traction online. But the backlash from the bride's circle apparently soon turned toxic.
Commenters were quick to come to Melly's defence, arguing the bride shouldn't have invited more people than she could comfortably accommodate
In the video, Melly explained: 'This all happened because they chimed in, and that's not on me.' She also dismissed accusations that she posted the video to bully the bride.
'I hadn't mentioned any names or shown any faces other than those of the other women seated with me,' she explained.
According to Melly, once the video began circulating, she received anonymous messages and calls demanding she take it down.
Despite the attempts to silence her, according to Melly, public support appears to remain firmly on her side.
One TikTok user said: 'Why on earth would anyone book a hen in a restaurant where you can't even seat your whole party together!
'Absolutely shocking, and good for you walking out, I wouldn't waste my time either.'
Another wrote: 'I don't understand how people are okay with doing this to their guests.'
And with some comments now wiped from the post, many viewers are most saddened by having missed out on the 'drama' of the original comments.

From White Lotus to a very white Christmas! Aimee Lou Wood lands lucrative festive advert for supermarket giant Marks & Spencer
It's the festive war that has become fiercer each year, with retail giants determined to make the best Christmas adverts no matter what the cost. And this year, the Daily Mail can reveal, Marks & Spencer is looking to win the quintessentially British battle by signing White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood as the star of its campaign, in what is described as a 'very lucrative deal' for her. The Stockport-born actress – who first found fame in Netflix 's Sex Education before playing ditzy Chelsea in the third series of the Sky Atlantic drama this year – has signed a contract to lead the advert which will be broadcast from November. M&S bosses are said to be thrilled with securing Wood, 31, a coup which insiders say 'can't possibly be matched' by any of their rivals including John Lewis and Lidl. Filming will begin later this month in what is anticipated to be one of their most memorable campaigns to date. One source told the Mail: 'Aimee is a British success story, she started at the bottom and she has grafted to become a very famous young woman following White Lotus. 'She was one of the most talked about women in the world at the end of 2024 so became a target for Marks & Spencer. 'She's just so utterly charming and so very relatable, she's a superstar but she's down to earth with it. Marks have definitely set the bar for this year's Christmas ad battle, the others will be seething when they see that they have her. 'It hasn't come cheap but the view at Marks & Spencer is that it is well worth it. They wouldn't be able to buy that kind of publicity.' Wood became embroiled in a fascinating saga over whether she had fallen out with her White Lotus co-star Walton Goggins, which gripped the show's millions of viewers across the world. Rumours of a feud between her and Goggins – who portrayed her older love interest Rick – began after fans noticed that he had unfollowed her on Instagram. But following weeks of speculation, Goggins finally said of the claims: 'There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me. 'This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will.' This year's advert is certainly set to be glitzier than 2024, when comic Dawn French reprised her role as the M&S Christmas fairy, but also appeared on screen as herself. The six-part ad series showed French and her fairy alter ego working together to prepare for a Christmas party. In 2023, M&S signed Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham, singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor and British actress Zawe Ashton while in the past the likes of Holly Willoughby and model David Gandy have also appeared. Wood's signing, thought to be as high as seven figures, comes after M&S reported sparkling full-year results for the year to March. Its profits before tax and 'adjusting items' stood at a whopping £875.5 million compared to £716.4 million in 2023/24, which the retailer said was its highest figure in more than 15 years.

Nicole Kidman's nepo baby Sunday Rose, 17, lands FIRST fashion cover and reveals 'rules' from famous parents
Nicole Kidman 's nepo baby daughter Sunday Rose has landed her first fashion cover for Nylon's 'It Girl' issue for the month of August. The 17-year-old budding model - who made her professional runway debut for Miu Miu last October - opened up about a variety of topics as she spoke with the outlet, including two major 'rules' from her famous parents. She is the eldest daughter of the Oscar-winning actress and singer Keith Urban - who also share Faith Margaret, 14. Nicole also adopted Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30, during her past marriage to Tom Cruise. Sunday Rose graced the cover of the publication while wearing a brown leather jacket as well as a matching miniskirt from Prada. Her locks were parted in the middle and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in light waves. Sunday Rose made her debut in the modeling world at the age of 16 when she walked the runway for Miu Miu's Spring/Summer 2025 show in Paris in October 2024. The budding model opened up about a variety of topics as she spoke with the outlet, including two major 'rules' from her famous parents; Sunday Rose seen with mom Nicole in 2024 in Paris And while talking to Nylon, she explained why she waited to begin modeling until then. 'There are two big rules. The first was that I couldn't explore any kind of fashion work until I was 16,' Sunday Rose revealed. 'And the second is that school always has to come first, which at first I hated, but I am actually really glad that I have these rules in place because it keeps me in a good mindset.' Along with strutting on the catwalk last year, Sunday Rose had the chance to walk the runway for Miu Miu once again earlier this year in March amid Paris Fashion. At the time, the mom-of-four cheered on the budding model by sharing a snap of her daughter on the catwalk along with the sweet message, 'Love you baby! @sundayrose.' Her mom Nicole previously opened up about her support of her teenage daughter and explained how she introduced Sunday Rose to the fashion world. During an interview with Vogue Australia, the Babygirl actress said, 'She's about to turn 16. That's what I told her, when she was 16 she was allowed to come to a show. She's wanted to go for a long time. 'That was her foray into it, and that was it. I'm like, "No, no more." It's a push-pull. I don't want to hold her back because I don't want to be coddling her.' During her Nylon cover story, Sunday Rose also admitted that she will often borrow clothes from her mother's closet. When asked to reveal one piece of clothing that she often takes, the model said, 'Oh gosh, if I had to pick one it would be impossible. 'I take everything from my mom's closet. I sometimes joke with her that it's my favorite store.' Sunday Rose further showed off her modeling skills for the publication while striking a pose wearing a denim shirt from A.W.A.K.E. Mode as well as a gray shawl on top. She additionally wore a patterned skirt from Saint Laurent and slipped into a pair of closed-toed white pumps. The teenager flashed a cheerful smile as she stood on top of two metal chairs in front of a plain white background. She donned a long-sleeved pink top as well as a light brown skirt from Miu Miu, while a fuzzy scarf was draped over her shoulders. Sunday Rose also sported a vibrant green top as well as black trousers as a patterned scarf added an additional pop of color to the look. Sunday Rose also sported a vibrant green top as well as black trousers as a patterned scarf added an additional pop of color to the look Since her modeling debut last year, the teen has been keeping busy and recently starred in an Omega campaign last month in July. Nicole has worked closely with the luxury watch brand for over a decade and Sunday Rose expressed that collaborating with the company felt like a 'full circle moment.' 'To be able to follow in my mom's footsteps with this brand is such a full circle moment for me,' she told Tatler Asia. 'Omega is such an amazing brand and has been a part of my family my entire life. 'It is such an honour to be given the opportunity to work with them. I really admire how they have such an amazing history and still maintain a great youthfulness in their brand.' Earlier this year in January, Sunday Rose appeared in the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2025 Duets campaign. Keith has also voiced his support of his daughter entering the world of modeling while talking to People last year and gushed that he is 'very proud.' He then added, 'Hopefully we can just help her keep balance with everything through all of that.' Last year in April, both Sunday Rose and her younger sister Faith Margaret made their red carpet debut at the AFI Life Achievement Award Gala with their parents.

Zoo staff face death threats for feeding baboon remains to lions
Staff at a zoo in Germany which culled 12 baboons and fed their carcasses to the lions say they have received death threats. Tiergarten Nuremberg euthanised the healthy Guinea baboons at the end of July due to overcrowding in their enclosure. Some remains were used for research while the rest were fed to the zoo's carnivores. Plans to kill the baboons were first announced last year after the population exceeded 40, and protestors gathered outside the zoo to show their outrage. When the site closed last Tuesday to carry out the cull, several activists were arrested after climbing the fence. The director of the zoo defended the decision, saying efforts to sterilise and rehome some baboons had failed. "We love these animals. We want to save a species. But for the sake of the species, we have to kill individuals otherwise we are not able to keep up a population in a restricted area," Dr Dag Encke told Sky News. 'The staff are suffering' He said police are investigating after he and the staff were sent death threats. "The staff are really suffering, sorting out all these bad words, insults and threats," Dr Encke said. "The normal threat is 'we will kill you, and we'll feed you to the lions'. "But what is really disgusting is when they say that's worse than Dr Mengele from the National Socialists, who was one of the most cruel people in human history. "That is really insulting all the victims of the Second World War and the Nazi regime." Josef Mengele was a Nazi officer who performed deadly experiments on prisoners at the Auschwitz concentration camp during the Second World War. Zoo animals 'treated as commodities' Culling animals and feeding them to predators isn't unheard of in zoos. In 2014, Copenhagen Zoo caused controversy by euthanizing an 18-month-old male giraffe called Marius and feeding his body to the lions. At the time, the zoo said it was due to a duty to avoid inbreeding. Dr Mark Jones, a vet and head of policy at Born Free Foundation, a charity which campaigns for animals to be kept in the wild, denounced the practice and said thousands of healthy animals are being destroyed by zoos each year. "It reflects the fact animals in zoos are often treated as commodities that are disposable or replaceable," he said. Zoo asks for unwanted pets Earlier this week, a zoo in Denmark faced a backlash for asking for unwanted pets to be donated to be used as food for its predators. In a Facebook post, Aalborg Zoo said it could take smaller live animals such as chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs, as well as horses under 147cm. It said the animals would be euthanised by specially trained staff before being fed to carnivores like the European lynx. While some people supported the scheme, saying they had donated animals in the past, others are outraged. "The very idea of a zoo offering to take unwanted pets in order to kill them and feed them to their predators will, I think, horrify most right-minded people," said Dr Jones. Aalborg Zoo has now closed the post to comments and said in a statement: "For many years at Aalborg Zoo, we have fed our carnivores with smaller livestock. "When keeping carnivores, it is necessary to provide them with meat, preferably with fur, bones, etc., to give them as natural a diet as possible. "Therefore, it makes sense to allow animals that need to be euthanised for various reasons to be of use in this way.
