The Buffalo Bills have plenty of attention on their running back room during the 2025 offseason but that's not going to change that way Pro Football Focus looks at the group.
Pro Bowl rusher James Cook is looking for a new contract from the Bills and has been vocal about it. Cook has not gotten that, but he showed up in Buffalo for minicamp in June which is a good sign for the 2025 season.
While Cook is the clear-cut No. 1 as a Pro Bowler in 2023 and 2024, he is not the only reason PFF appreciates the Bills' backfield.
PFF places Buffalo's running back room at the eighth-best in the NFL heading into the 2025 season because of the full group from top-to-bottom. The football analytics outlet appreciating the diversity the Bills have rushing the ball like the differences between the quick and shifty James Cook and bruising rusher Ray Davis.

Buffalo has put together a solid group of running backs who fill a variety of roles. The workhorse is James Cook, who earned an outstanding 88.6 PFF rushing grade last season while leading the league in rushing touchdowns.
Rookie Ray Davis got 120 carries of his own and earned a solid 73.1 PFF rushing grade while breaking 30 tackles. Ty Johnson serves as a reliable pass catcher, ranking 10th among qualifiers in PFF receiving grade in 2024.
