Earlier in the day, IndiGo's flight 6E 2482 from Delhi to Patna performed a go-around during its initial landing attempt at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport. Carrying 173 passengers, the aircraft aborted the first landing due to an unstabilised approach and safely landed on the second attempt.

'It was a normal and safe manoeuver. The pilot opted for the go-around to ensure a stable landing approach,' a source familiar with the matter said, as per PTI.
Separately, on July 9, IndiGo flight 6E 5009 from Patna to Delhi was forced to return mid-air after a bird strike.
All passengers were offered refreshments, full refunds, or rebookings.
'We are doing our best to minimise inconvenience... Safety and security of our customers and crew remains our topmost priority,' the airline's spokesperson told news agency PTI.

Andhra Pradesh approves investment proposals worth Rs 39,473 cr
Amaravati, Jul 17 (PTI) The eighth State Investment Promotion Board of Andhra Pradesh headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday approved 22 projects worth Rs 39,473 crore with the scope to generate 30,899 jobs, the government said. The CM directed ministers and officials to create the relevant ecosystem around the industrial projects coming up in the state. 'The eighth SIPB headed by CM Chandrababu approved investments worth Rs 39,473 crore. The 22 projects approved today will provide jobs to 30,899 people," an official release said. The approved projects included an investment of Rs 1,800 crore from Renew Vyoman Power Pvt Ltd in Kurnool and Nandyal districts, JSW Neo Energy (Rs 2,000 crore; Kadapa), JSW AP Steel Plant (Rs 4,500 crore; Kadapa) and Laurus Labs (Rs 5,630 crore; Anakapalli). Other projects included Lulu Shopping Malls International Ltd (Rs 1,222 crore; Vizag & Vijayawada), Renew Photovoltaic (Rs 3,700 crore; Anakapalli) and AS International (Rs 1,000 crore; Chittoor), among others. LTIMindtree Q1 profit up 10.6 pc to Rs 1,254 cr
Agency: PTI Last Updated: New Delhi, Jul 17 (PTI) Technology consulting and digital solutions company LTIMindtree on Thursday reported a 10.6 per cent increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,254.1 crore in the June quarter. The company had posted a net profit (attributable to shareholders of the company) of Rs 1,133.8 crore in the year-ago period, according to a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations for the first quarter of FY26 increased 7.6 per cent to Rs 9,840.6 crore, compared to Rs 9,142.6 crore in Q1 FY25. Seen sequentially, profit increased about 11 per cent while revenue inched up marginally by 0.7 per cent. 'We had a promising start to the year, delivering broad-based growth, expanding margins, and making significant progress on our strategic priorities. Our Fit4Future program, sales transformation efforts, and pivot to AI have enhanced agility and strengthened our ability to scale for the future. 'While the macroeconomic environment remains challenging, I'm confident that our disciplined execution and unwavering client focus will continue to drive our performance," LTIMindtree CEO and MD Venu Lambu said. The company's employee count stood at 83,889 at the end of the quarter. LTIMindtree's board has approved the issue of 67,252 new shares, each valued at Re 1, to the LTIMindtree Employee Welfare Trust, under its Employees Stock Option Plan of 2021 and 2015. The shares will later be transferred to eligible employees upon exercise of options. Shares of LTIMindtree settled 2.55 per cent lower at Rs 5,190.95 apiece on the BSE on Thursday. Panchayati raj ministry holds workshop on spatial development plan for villages
Agency: New Delhi, Jul 17 (PTI) The Panchayati Raj Ministry on Thursday said it has brought together 19 partner institutes of planning and architecture to prepare spatial development plans for 36 gram panchayats across 14 states as a pilot project. A two-day workshop in this regard, titled 'Navingram –� Re-Imagining the Village', commenced in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal on Thursday, the ministry said in a statement. A Gram Panchayat Spatial Development Plan (GPSDP) is a comprehensive plan that guides the physical and spatial development of a gram panchayat. It outlines how land should be used, what infrastructure should be built, and how development should be managed to achieve social and economic goals. 'Spatial development plans must be realistic, sustainable and aimed at empowering gram panchayats to become self-reliant," an official statement quoted Panchayati Raj Secretary Vivek Bharadwaj as saying while delivering the keynote address at the workshop. Bharadwaj stressed on panchayats generating their own revenue. 'We must include strategies to enhance the panchayats' own revenue generation, and ensure that village development becomes a model of self-sufficiency and innovation," he said. According to the statement, the ministry will create a valuable knowledge repository for Panchayati Raj transformation. 'The initiative reflects the evolution from traditional village development approaches to scientifically designed spatial planning methodologies that integrate modern planning principles with Panchayati Raj governance structures," it said. The workshop witnessed participation from elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions from the spatial planning gram panchayats, officers from Departments of Panchayati Raj in various states, faculty and students from planning and architecture institutes, Town and Country Planning Department officials, and government agencies, the statement said. 'The workshop emphasises the critical importance of Own Sources of Revenue (OSR) generation and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnerships in creating financially sustainable gram panchayats that can effectively implement their spatial development plans," it said. The partner institutes will make presentations, showcasing the enhanced GPSDPs prepared for the 36 gram panchayats. The institutes will also present land use plans based on land suitability analysis, and propose physical and social infrastructure interventions envisioned for the next 7-�10 years, aligned with projected population growth in these gram panchayats. Alok Prem Nagar, Joint Secretary to the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, delivered comprehensive insights on spatial planning for rural areas and the way forward, highlighting the ministry's strategic interventions and innovative approaches. Principal Secretary in Panchayati Raj Department of Madhya Pradesh, Dipali Rastogi highlighted that Bilkisganj and Murvas gram panchayats in the state are progressing well with their comprehensive spatial planning implementation. Five more gram panchayats will adopt similar approaches with complete support from the state's Panchayati Raj Department, Rastogi said.
