Chasing followers, Mauganj teen's fake suicide shock triggers police panic
The reel, uploaded from Madha village in Hanumana area, was captioned 'Pyaar ki khushi ke liye… good bye' and showed the minor drinking water mixed with a white powder. The clip raised urgent concerns of a suicide attempt, prompting the cyber cell and district police to take swift action.
"The video came to our attention through cyber cell monitoring. We traced her location and immediately dispatched a police team. It was soon revealed that the minor had staged the entire act to seek attention," said additional SP Mauganj Vikram Singh on Saturday.
When police arrived, the teenager confessed that she had swallowed salt, not poison, and admitted her online reels were not gaining popularity, motivating her to create the stunt.
Hanumana police station in-charge Anil Kakre said, "Within an hour of the video's upload, we had located her and reached her. She then admitted the truth. The whole episode lasted approximately 2–3 hours on Aug 13."
"We released her after counseling and cautioning her," he added.

FBI arrests Cindy Singh, one of '10 most wanted fugitives' hiding in India
The FBI has captured and arrested Cindy Rodriguez Singh, a fugitive on the agency's "Ten Most Wanted Fugitives" list, in India.
