Joe Exotic fears new husband will be kidnapped by cartel over big misunderstanding

Daily Mirror30-04-2025

Joe Exotic has expressed concern over the safety of his new husband, worried he might be targeted for a kidnapping. The 62-year-old Tiger King star, currently serving time for a murder-for-hire conviction involving Carole Baskin, fears his spouse Jorge Marquez might fall into danger due to misconceptions about his wealth.
In a candid chat with 2DayFM's 'Jimmy + Nath Show', he admitted: "He is going to be deported. I don't want anything happening to him at the border, like the cartel kidnapping him because everybody thinks I am a millionaire."
While Joe was tight-lipped about certain aspects of his marital life, when probed about whether they'd consummated their union he firmly stated: "No... Absolutely not."
Prior to marrying, Joe voiced his hope that the marriage could protect his partner from deportation to Mexico and even expressed his readiness to move to South America if needed.
Speaking to RadarOnline.com, Joe revealed their deep commitment: "Whether it helps his immigration status or not, we love each other enough to get married. We even got tattooed matching wedding bands already on."
He also discussed the legal strategic benefits: "What it would do is, it would assure him, and it would show the court, that he has a little bit of financial stability to stay in America."
Optimistically concluding, Joe said: "It's gonna look better for his asylum case to be married. We're just hoping that the prison will allow us to get married and stay in the same prison."
He expressed his frustration to the media, stating that if he can't secure assistance from the government to "keep him here," then "I guess I'm going to Mexico."
After announcing their engagement in October last year, Joe couldn't help but gush about his fiancé, calling him "so amazing" and sharing regrets that he didn't "meet him long" earlier. Joe excitedly posted on his social media account, sharing with followers: "Meet Jorge Marquez he is 33. He is so amazing and is from Mexico."
Embarking on a new journey, Joe explained: "Now, the quest of getting married in prison and getting him asylum or we be leaving America when we both get out. Either way, I wish I would have met him long ago."
The one-time Tiger King sensation then verified the news of his engagement with Entertainment Weekly. During a heartfelt phone call from behind bars, he disclosed: "We filed our official papers for the marriage license from the prison yesterday, so we're just waiting for an approval.
"He has picked out December 12 as the date we're hoping to get this approved by."
Despite his tumultuous romantic history – finalising his divorce with Dillon Passage in January 2023 and enduring the tragic loss of Travis Maldonado in 2017 – the former exotic animal park operator remained optimistic that his relationship with Jorge would fare better. In an emotional statement, he confessed: "We love each other very much, spend every minute of the day together."
Reflecting on his life's ups and downs, Joe admitted: "I've been through some s*** in my days."
Putting past heartache and betrayal behind him, Joe declared: "I buried two husbands, the third one ran off with 2.6 million bucks from Netflix and left my a** here, but Jorge is a very amazing young man."

Joe Swash shares 'constant battle' he has with Stacey amid marriage concerns

They revealed on their reality TV series Stacey and Joe: Full House that they've been to marriage counselling to keep their relationship on track, but are still fighting a common parenting battle Loose Women star Stacey Solomon and her husband Joe Swash have given a realistic perspective on their home life, admitting they have a "constant battle" with their kids. Former EastEnders actor Joe, 43, and Stacey, 35, have six children between them. Together, they have Rex, five, Rose, three, and Belle, two. Stacey has two children from previous relationships, Leighton, 12, and Zachary, 17. ‌ Joe also has a 17-year-old son, Harry, who he had with his ex Emma Sophocleous. The couple separated when their son was very young, with Joe going to court to see his son. ‌ But parenting has taken on new difficulties in recent years, with Stacey and Joe forced to put their feet down when it comes to the relatable issue of screen time. They now call using the phone "a privilege", making sure Rex only has an hour at the weekend to play games if he behaves at school and completes his chores. In a new interview with Huffington Post, Joe explained his and Stacey's "battle" with their son and his weekly reward of screen time. He said: "But even that, me and Stacey begrudgingly let him have that. "It's difficult, it's a constant battle ... And even then, when he's playing the games, we're constantly watching what he's doing, what games he's playing. It's something that concerns us, you know?" Joe explained that he feels it's a balancing act - with their older children, he knows that access to a phone is a big part of their social life. But he still wants to keep tabs on their usage, to make sure they're safe. Although the couple are on the same page when it comes to using the internet, Joe admits there's "no real right or wrong". He added that every parent is "muddling through" and "making mistakes". ‌ The couple are always ones to keep it real, and with their new reality show Stacey & Joe: Full House, fans are getting a look into life behind closed doors for the close-knit family. Their series has given a realistic look into the ups and downs of family life, and how they all navigate their busy careers and home. The pair, who tied the knot in 2022, revealed they've turned to marriage therapy to keep their relationship on track. A source recently told OK! that Stacey and Joe may have underplayed how big a step having cameras around for every tricky moment would be. ‌ The source said: "They underestimated how difficult it was going to be doing this reality show and having cameras around, and watching it back hasn't been the easiest thing. The pressures of all the kids and work while balancing their relationship has been hard, they won't deny that." The source also claims they are proud of opening up about having couple's therapy on-air. 'They're going to therapy because they love each other and would never want to get to the point where they don't want to be together anymore. Yes, there have been ups and downs and it's been quite a rollercoaster - but they know there's no shame in therapy and both realise it's the best thing for their relationship and to iron out their issues.'

Joe Tate's torment of Billy continues as he makes vile accusation in Emmerdale

It doesn't look like any hatchets will be buried for Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) or Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) anytime soon in Emmerdale – except in each other's backs. Billy has got the absolute measure of evil Joe and is desperately trying to get his family away from him. Clemmie became so full of hatred for Joe that she called social services and said she was afraid of him, such was her desire to have him gone and her family back together. She later said this was a lie, but she wasn't done trying to get him gone. Clemmie later went missing on Joe's watch and turned up at Sam Dingle's (James Hooton) where she told Joe to his face how much she hated him. Seeing his kids so distraught, Billy wants rid of Joe, which is a real pain in Joe's side. In a bid to numb said pain, Joe tried a different tact, attempting to buy Billy off with the promise of a decent job in Liverpool – telling him he'd live away five days a week and see the kids at weekends. Billy saw right through this and emphatically rebuffed Joe's offer as the unscrupulous businessman branded him a loser, which was met with a swift and painful shove from his wheelchair. But though Clemmie said she'd lied about being afraid of Joe, she still hates him. Later, while under his care, she went missing on purpose to cause more trouble, causing Billy to demand that Dawn leave Home Farm for their children's safety. UK's 10 biggest EuroMillions wins ahead of tonight's £208,000,000 draw

Someone could become the UK's biggest ever lottery winner tonight after the EuroMillions jackpot reached £208,000,0000. It follows Tuesday's £199 million draw, which had no winner. Several UK ticket holders have scooped staggering EuroMillions jackpots, with some, like Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Gloucester going public, while many choose to remain anonymous. Here, we take a look at the UK's 10 biggest wins since the competition begun in 2004. As it stands, the biggest lottery win in the UK was in July 2022, when an anonymous ticket holder scooped £195,707,000. Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Gloucester, scooped a then record-breaking £184,262,899 with a Lucky Dip ticket for the draw on May 10 2022. At the time, Joe was a communications sales engineer, and Jess ran a hairdressing salon with her sister. Joe saw they'd won when he woke early the next morning. He said: 'I saw how much and I didn't know what to do. 'I couldn't go back to sleep, I didn't want to wake Jess up so I just laid there for what seemed like forever. 'I spent some time searching for property with no budget limit, which was a novelty!' When the alarm finally rang, Joe turned to Jess and said: 'I've got a secret, I've got something to tell you.' A single-ticket holder, who chose to remain anonymous, won the £177,033,699 jackpot for the draw on November 26 2024. The winner became immediately wealthier than popstar Dua Lipa, who is worth an estimated £104 million, and Michael Buble, worth around £63 million. Another person who chose to remain anonymous scooped £171,815,297 in the September 23 2022 draw. At the time this was the country's third biggest National Lottery win. The fifth biggest winner of the National Lottery to date scooped £170 million in 2019 after matching all the numbers in a Must Be Won draw on October 8. Colin and Chris Weir, from Largs, North Ayrshire, became the UK's biggest lottery winners the time after winning £162,653,000 on July 12 2011. Colin used £2.5 million of his fortune to invest in his beloved Patrick Thistle Football Club, which led to one of the stands at the stadium being named after him. The former TV camera man later acquired a 55% shareholding in the club, which was to be passed into the hands of the local community upon his death. The couple, who set up the Weir Charitable Trust in 2013 and donated £1 million to the Scottish independence referendum in 2014, divorced in 2019. They had been married 38 years. Colin died of sepsis and an acute kidney injury a few months later at the age of 71. Adrian and Gillian won £148,656,000 in a EuroMillions draw on August 10, 2012. The couple bought a Grade II-listed estate in Cambridgeshire, complete with cinema and billiards room, but it was sold in 2021, some years after the pair divorced. Gillian now has a conviction for threatening her ex-boyfriend, domestic abuse charity worker Gavin Innes, who she pushed and shouted at in 2017. She then married convicted fraudster Brian Deans, before ending their ending their relationship, claiming he asked for more and more money after blowing the monthly allowance she gave him on cars, watches and trips with friends. Adrian, meanwhile, started a relationship with ex-horse groom Samantha Burbidge, a woman 16 years younger than him, in 2017. He also dated waitress Lisa Kemp, but she dumped him after discovering saucy messages sent to his ex Marta Jarosz. More Trending In 2019, Adrian said he ate 50 Cornish pasties delivered to his mansion each week to cope with his loneliness. One ticket holder got lucky with a Superdraw rollover jackpot of £123,458,008 on June 11 2019, and decided to remain anonymous. Another ticket holder scooped more than £122 million in April 2021, but didn't go public. And the 10th biggest lottery winner in the UK won their fortune in April 2018, and chose to remain anonymous.
