In the upcoming A24 movie Opus, John Malkovich plays a pop star turned cult leader named Moretti. Ahead of the psychological horror film's opening in theaters next month, the studio has previewed his performance with a new song titled 'Dina, Simone.'
Marking Malkovich's first official musical release as a vocalist, 'Dina, Simone' was written and produced by Nile Rodgers and The-Dream. A funky tune hearkening back to the '80s, the track oozes with the creepiness of his character while seducing a 'sweet little thing' in 'tight little jeans.' Stream it below.
'Dina, Simone' appears alongside '35mm' and 'Tomorrow' on the film's soundtrack, OPUS: The Moretti EP, which will be released in tandem with the movie's opening in theaters on March 14th.
Written and directed by Mark Anthony Green, Opus also stars Ayo Edebiri as a journalist who is invited to a remote compound to profile Moretti. The rest of the cast includes Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, Amber Midthunder, Stephanie Suganami, Young Mazino, and Tatanka Means.

Sly Stone's Music Formed The Backdrop To Several Hip-Hop Classics

Sly Stone, a legendary musician who helped propel funk to its elevated heights in the realm of Black music, has died. Hip-Hop artists of various eras have sampled Sly Stone's work over the years, and we've got a playlist highlighting some of those audio classics. As Hip-Hop Wired reported earlier, Sly Stone, born Sylvester Stewart in Denton, Texas, passed away Monday (June 9) at the age of 82. After establishing his roots in the Bay Area as a musical prodigy, Stone ventured into becoming a front-facing artist with his Sly and The Stones in the 1960s with the late Cynthia Robinson, the trumpeter who was a founding member of Sly and the Family Stone, the band that catapulted Stone into the annals of music history. Alongside fun pioneers such asJames Brown and Parliament-Funkadelic, Stone and his band enjoyed a successful run of album releases extending into the late 1970s. Stone's life was captured in the 2023 biography, Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin), written with Ben Greenman, featuring a foreword from Ahmir 'Questlove' Thompson. Thompson also produced the stirring 2025 documentary centered on Stone's life and legacy, Sly Lives! (aka the Burden of Black Genius) . Hip-Hop artists such as LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, The Jungle Brothers, Public Enemy, and scores more dug into the crates to grab bits of Stone's music to form the backdrop of their works. Below, we've got a handful of those songs featured in the playlist below. Long live Sly Stone. May he rest powerfully in peace. — Photo: Michael Putland / Getty Sly Stone's Music Formed The Backdrop To Several Hip-Hop Classics was originally published on Samples 'Trip To Your Heart.' Hideo Kojima doesn't really go for half measures. Following a 10-minute trailer that unveiled some early details, the game creator participated in a beefy 80-minute panel discussion with Geoff Keighley about Death Stranding 2: On the Beach on the final day of Summer Games Fest 2025. The wide-ranging conversation included some clips from the sequel to the acclaimed Death Stranding , including its first five minutes, which sparked lots of cheers as people recognized performers' names in the opening credits. Kojima also showed the English language version of a scene that was revealed during the Tokyo Game Show, highlighting the performances of Elle Fanning as Tomorrow and Shioli Kutsuna as Rainy. Fans also got a chance to see Tomorrow in action as she literally gets down and dirty in the tar to take out some robotic combatants. There was also a live gameplay demo, first showing Sam in combat with a blood boomerang and a tar cannon, then a more challenging fight against Neil that showed off some stealth attacks as well as some more weaponry. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be available on PlayStation 5 starting June 26.
