Actor Shah Rukh Khan on Thursday shared a post, expressing his shock and grief at the plane crash that took place in Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon. The Bollywood superstar mentioned that he was heartbroken by the tragedy."Absolutely heartbroken with the news about the crash in Ahmedabad... my prayers for the victims, their families and all affected (sic)," he wrote on X.

A devastating tragedy unfolded in Ahmedabad on Thursday when Air India flight AI171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner bound for London Gatwick, crashed just moments after take-off, with radar data revealing the aircraft climbed only 625 feet before disaster struck.The flight, carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members, departed from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at 1:39 PM IST and lost contact with air traffic control less than a minute later.advertisementThe aircraft issued a mayday call shortly after departure but lost contact with Air Traffic Control soon after. Photo by J Jackson COIMBATORE: Members of the queer community conducted an art exhibition cum cultural programme in Coimbatore city on Saturday showcasing the diverse talents and perspectives within the LGBTQIA+ community. The art exhibition offered a dedicated platform for LGBTQIA+ artists to present their works highlighting queer identities, experiences and narratives. As many as 30 paintings, all with the theme of queer community, by around 15 artists were displayed at the exhibition held in a hotel in the city. Some of the paintings reflected the supressed emotions of transgender people and their quest to find an identity. The exhibition was aimed at encouraging a broader and more inclusive understanding of human diversity within families, communities, and the public. The cultural programmes included music, fashion walk and open mic poetry. Kalki Subramaniam, a transgender rights activist, was among those present. Her emotional post reflects the grief and solidarity felt across the nation as the industry and citizens mourn the devastating loss. The actor penned an emotional note alongside the picture, writing, "Boarded an Air India flight this morning and found myself absolutely overwhelmed with emotion as I buckled my seat. May our collective grief offer some solace to those who lost their loved ones." Superstars like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan also expressed their sorrow over the tragedy. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members. The aircraft, which took off from Runway 23 of Ahmedabad airport, crashed five minutes after takeoff, bursting into flames. So far, only one person — Vishwash Kumar Ramesh — is reported to have survived the deadly crash. Meanwhile, Zeenat Aman was last seen in the Netflix series The Royals. She will next appear in Faraz Arif Ansari's film Bun Tikki. The film, which also stars Abhay Deol and Shabana Azmi in lead roles, marks the maiden production of Manish Malhotra's banner. The release date is yet to be announced.
